      I'm dog sitting for friends; when they brought her last weekend to get familiar with my place they brought 2-gal pails (free from the grocery store) and a product jar (they'd already given me a tote of product jars that he'd found in a box on the curb).

    I have a small electric coffee grinder and an antique hand crank coffee grinder ( in case of power loss). I always keep a roll of clear packing tape so I can put labels on my jars, tags get in the way, and I don’t want to have to take jars out to read what’s written on the lids. I did invest in brown medicine bottles with droppers for tinctures, because I felt they were worth the cost. I bought large ones with caps and smaller ones with the droppers that I refill from the larger. I also bought a vacuum sealer from Patrick and I love it! Right now, I run 1 dehydrator but I am ordering 2 more because of the volume of food and herbs that I dehydrate. I’m getting 2 Cosori’s) 😊 Hopefully they will be here soon! I keep a basket with different sized corks, rubber bands, air locks and ph test strips. Off topic here- you put out about chicken health yesterday morning. Late afternoon, we had a rooster jump the fence into one of our goat paddocks. He has 1 tail feather and his back is missing feathers. We found out he was a neighbor’s and that their dog attacked him. They said they thought he had died, but they would come get him and dispatch him. We asked if we could keep him, so we have a new rooster that seems to have attached himself to our goat. Talk about odd couple! 😂 God bless!!

    I bought a Sams Club container of organic ginger. I do have a Cosori. However, I had things going on where I wouldn't be home to monitor drying them. I quickly peeled them and used my food processor to chop them and then stuffed the pieces into silcone molds to make 'pucks.' I froze those pucks of ginger and have them in ziplock bags in the freezer.

    Well there is the obvious. I got a nice set of stainless steel measuring cups and spoons, and a set of stainless steel mesh strainers. I use a huge collendar for when I'm collecting up a big batch of an herb so I can rinse toss it around as I rinse it. I had a coffee grinder but wanted something that held more so when my son asked what i wanted for Christmas, i told him a Magic Bullet. So all the budding herbalists should make a wish list and ask for your tools as gifts.

    I'm so excited! In my next Azure Standard order, I expect organic ginger and planning to dehydrate them. Thanks for the suggestion/ demonstration! I tried to grow ginger in a container last year and it looked awesomely successfully until it wasn't. As a dehydrator side note: In my first Azure Standard order ever last month, I did buy the #10 can of sliced olives and dehydrated them (it took 6 trays for the full can and ended up filling 2 pint size jars plus a 1/4 pint jar as I recall). Isn't dehydrating amazing! I have an awesome, healthy diabetic snack / salad topper all to myself now. Wish my family understood the delicious but ah well! Love them anyway.

      I have a lot of dehydrating videos through the years where I show using my Nesco outside plugged into our solar power, if that is what you mean but for here, because it is so wet that even on nice days we get a lot of humidity, dehydrating foods outside without the use of an electric dehydrator is often pointless,. Laundry usually does fine but not herbs and foods.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  4 месяца назад

      I will not remember all the places I found it but mostly that is in reference to using it with raw honey, bentonite clay and ferments.. People are always freaking out about using metal with these things and telling me how wrong I am but if they took time to look a bit further instead of just listening to those who only speak in general terms, they would find that because stainless steel is non reactive, it is a safe metal to use with any of those and will not damage any benefits.

    Can I make hydroçhloraquine from organic lemons and grapefruit in a tincture or dehydrated?

    • @RainCountryHomestead

      No but you CAN extract quercetin from them. Hydroxychloroquine is synthesized quine but there is no quinine in citrus peels, contrary to what many have tried to convince people. Quinine is extracted from Cinchona bark. However, quercetin, even though it is a flavonoid and not an alkaloid like quinine, serves the same purpose as a zinc ionophore.

      @@lupeacosta9369 The question was can you may hydroxychloroquine from citrus peels, the answer is no, you cannot make a synthesized pharmaceutical from citrus peels. Too many people are saying they are making this synthesized pharmaceutical drug but they are not the same thing.

      @@lupeacosta9369 You can simply dry the peels and vacuum seal into jars until you are ready to use them for whatever. I have many jars of peels I use for multiple things from making vinegar and natural sodas to teas and using as flavoring and more.

    Heidi. Can you do a video on how to use the vacuum seal with the tube? I’m not sure how that works.

      As I promised I would in the video above, I provided the link on how to use the chamber and to adapt it in the description box just below the video screen. Make sure to click on the word "...more" to open it and find that and the other links I provided

    Did you change brands of coconut oil? Is it a better price than Costco?

      I still use the Kirkland brand virgin coconut oil but for the refined (no coconut flavor or smell) I get it from Axure Standard
