    Myth should be the only class that gets to control their minion. That means like in Pirate101 they get to pick spells from their minions. I feel like it would give more meaning to the class

      I always thought the same thing since most time i use a minion, if any the minion uses up traps I might have on them. So it more of a detriment. If there was like specific minions u get like a minion with heals, supp, etc... that u could control that would make it more viable to use.

    Surprised that you didnt talk about how myths have a lot of spells that stun but you cant really use it because all the bosses are stun immune lol

      Really good point but that's a beef I have more with Kingisle. It just feels like sometimes there actually opposed to anything that falls outside the blade, feint, and 7 pip AOE meta 🤷‍♂️

      I'm not exactly sure when it happened, but a lot of bosses aren't stun-immune anymore? All I know is I shuffled stuns into my deck on a whim, and to my surprise, they actually worked. This happened towards the end of Azteca, btw

      Clearly you were shunned away from using it after the first boss that resisted. I've found that only the bosses that are HARD stun res. Including : gods of aquila, malistaire and so on.
      Lol never mind all bosses stun res now.

      I hate myth because it feels like kingisle went "oh yea we should probably make myth do something" and gave that school spells that just don't allow you to play the game. Do you really need that many stuns and earthquake?? Can you please pick a spot in what you do? Can you have shorter animations?

    Feel as if myth should be able to summon multiple minions (since each wiz in a fight can only summon one at a time) to add more variety to the school.

      @@user-fp5dw4ff3d uh you can do 3 summons for myth 1 myth minion, 1 monstrology summon, 1 different monstrology summon. I was doing a solo spell quest in krok and it was a 1v3 then i made it a 4v3. Lol

      @@markdeathshade4906 the fact that your forced to use monstrology to do that isn't good though. Majority of players don't use it nor is it better than just blade and hit most of the time

    Early game when i didn't have any healing spells i used the 0 Pip Minion and sacrificed it for health, which ended up getting me through some harder fights. The 0 Pip Minion isn't really used late game but early game it's def useful so i'd actually place it slightly higher than the rest of the minions.

      @@newlife5168 Minotaur minion is a solid choice with taunts, shields, and heals. It's useful even post-dragonspyre as a sort of ploy desgned to slow the opponent down.

    The weirdest thing is that Myth could've been perfect for solo players. Instead of having to create a party with other wizards, you could just summon your own! But because you can only have one minion and their ai and spell decks are garbage, there's just no reason.

    I used minions all the time as my myth wizard, and honestly I find them quite useful, that said it's also partly because I'm lazy and I don't like tailoring my deck to whatever encounter I'm facing. If I face a myth enemy with 80% resist to myth, fuck it, who needs prisms, I'll just have my minions spam sunbirds while I chill beneath my mountain of myth and tower shields.

      I thought about this too, or at the very least have some sort of quick command system where you tell them to focus on healing or doing damage to a specific enemy or just keep spamming AOEs. Then it would be super useful!

    as a myth main, i loved having to micromanage my minions buffing them, shielding, healing, etc. Me and talos have a bond that will never be broken

    I have soloed every school, and I can honestly say that Balance and Myth were fun experiences *because* they were unusual and harder to master. When I want to just chill for a while I'll quest on Death or Life, but when I want a challenge I'll go Myth or Balance. There are certain circumstances when the Minotaur is perfect because you can double blade and break through the Tower Shield to kill. And likewise a favorite trick I have for Balance is to Elemental Blade then Spectral Blast three times in a row, throwing in an occasional Balance Blade. Many of the gadgety "whatever" spells in both Myth and Balance are super useful but only in certain boss battles. So the trick is to master the circumstances in which you would use them (with the exception of Dispels, which rightly go in the TFEIT category always and forever). The only school I gave up on is Ice, because I solo most of the time, and soloing Wintertusk with Ice made me curse the day my parents met.

    As a max myth i can agree that it gets overshadowed by the other schools but after the orthrus buffs myth became respected ive even been picked over fires to hit in dungeons and i believe myth has the 3rd highest maybe 2nd highest damage nowadays. I find myth to be one of the best solo schools because you got a good mix of damage and health its a really good in between school.

      Myth is actually a good school now after they fixed the spells, having to rely on humongofrog until getting mystic collosus was actually atrocious. Orthrus is such a great spell now

    I've used Polymorphs unironically! Jaguar and Treant were actually really effective before Khryssy if you needed health, and Gobbler used to have like 75% resists to all schools

      Those cards really really helped me.
      I really hoped they would bring in better polymorphs as you levelled up but sadly, they didn't.
      Moon was my favorite of the astral schools until we couldn't progress further.
      But just because, I did train the fire and storm morph hits in khrysalis.

      I really like the idea of the poly's. There's so much potential there but they just fall off hard in the way the stats work. Since you don't retain your gear stats in poly, You are just kind of sacrificing your numbers. Like why would I go gobbler for resistance when everyone has pierce with late game gear anyway. KI never scaled out any of the poly's, so past a certain threshold, they just don't really work. Or why even poly for classing purposes, when you can just archmastery to whatever class spell you want.
      I always liked the idea of tempo decks. Say I want to go ice tank/support. There will likely be times where Poly could help improve damage in low risk turns. It can also help with having different stats or overcoming resistances. Like If I Do a high resistance build, I could pick a more naturally offensive poly to swap my damage and resist for a few turns. You could even play setter for yourself with Health over time spells, spells like vengeance, etc. Poly doesn't need to be as unviable as it is, And it doesn't seem like there is any workaround to the current bubble fighting, charm and harm pvp meta. Overall, I think wiz could be better balanced. There need to be incentives toward different play styles, It is quite hard to survive outside of meta play (mainly pvp). I'm confident that the wiz player base would enjoy variety in strategies and would likely brew up off metas or new metas. The community as a whole has gotten a lot older, and I think some more nuance and options could provide more ways to enjoy the game than what is currently offered. The annoying part is most of the content needed to create a fluid and innovative game state is already in the game, It just doesn't receive the attention it deserves.
      Don't get me wrong, I love Wiz. I just think that it has more potential than what it is allowed.

    I've loved Myth since first age. My first character was ice though in 2008 but my most completed wizard is my Myth so it has a special place in my heart for sure.

    The thing that I liked about myth was that you never have to worry about shields at all when leveling up, since you can just use pierce

    I picked Myth as my first school. And the feeling that Zeritt claims it has is there. And I'll be real with you when I say the minions don't all suck. Troll minion from the Troll spell, Cyclops Ally (not to be confused with Cyclops Minion), and Talos are all useful when in a pinch. They heal me and the cyclops casts *Myth Fuel* . It's honestly almost as good as Death when soloing, the only caveat being we can't drain attack

      After soloing with myth, it’s really fun because of its damage and utility spells but it’s definitely a step down from death. I don’t think i’ve died on my Death wizard since Cylestia. The drain spells are just so good for soloing

    This is probably why Cyrus Drake is so mean. He is annoyed that his school is arguably the worst and starts not giving a crap about anything. It also fits very well because he is a mean teacher for a school that is the least useful.

    I chose Myth because it's got the 3rd best damage, but it has loads of utility. You can solo the game much longer as a Myth versus a Storm, for example, for the first arc especially while barely giving up damage. The opposite side of that advantage is that some boss fights where it's Myth on Myth or Myth on Storm you just in a 1v1 scenario get a lot more difficulty from them. Post-Karamelle you easily hit 169% damage w/ about 70% or so crit chance and for a high damage class, it has the 3rd best pip conversion. With RNG those numbers are sorta just a nice sweet spot for stats, especially if you look at PvP. PvP is also just very good and you can throw a lot of curveballs. You lose out on self-healing as Ice does because there are a lot of mechanics that do an amazing job of keeping you alive with ease, which can be seen more around the 2nd story arc and maybe just a bit in Dragonspyre. You can even be focusing on heals as a myth and with your unique class-specific support spells outdo the usefulness of other classes post level 100 with a very well-thought-out build that makes you a glass cannon healer. Creativity with your build is probably the strongest quality of Myth as you can basically build into any kind of build you want if you get tired of another build. Heavy hitter or support alike, you can go hard. As soon as their Tank/Healer/DPS model was done away with, it kinda just forced some spells to be awkward. Then not being able to control minions was just never a good idea. I've made my fair share of spreadsheets for Myth (currently up to date for post-Karamelle), but I'd say I could update it within a day of being asked about it without a doubt. Healing build should be 99% to date but at the same time if you're reading this and the Jewel Crafter's bundle is out, just buy that for healing I think the hat is the best one you can grab.     I think the reason so many people love myth school is because it was one of the best schools if you only played free to play zones. Being able to summon minions is very OP in the lower levels but it doesn't scale well so higher level player tend to not like it as much

    when i was younger i got a pack that gave me a draconian polymorph spell on a staff and it helped me speed run as a fire wizard until mid level, it made my health go up so much but i haven’t seen anything like it since

    i'm sure at least a few ppl have mentioned, but the 0 pip puppet card can be enchanted to only use taunt to force bosses to agro on them, so that's sometimes a good play to avoid hits or debuffs on yourself earlish game without pip inconvenience. but also that doubles the deck space taken up by it, which makes it a bit annoying

    Thing about myth is that it's sort of a Jack of all trades. It has nice stats good damage and health and its spells have that offensive edge to them that something like storm doesnt have. Myth can manipulate the playing field to their advantage with shift and dimension shift. They can ignore shields with their pierces or multi hits. And now in pvp they can control your shields for their advantage. The downside is that myth is supposed to be this 2v1 kinda class with minions but the minions are outdated and kinda useless.

    myth was the reason i played this game summoning minions was so cool and the theme of them was everything i wanted troll, cyclops, minotaur maybe they are not the best but us true hearted myth wizards have a special bond with our minions that no other classes have.

    Polymorph is a pretty damn op carry early game. I had one on my pet and it got me through to the end of marelybone no problem.

      Too bad you can't really normally obtain them till level 50 where they're no longer very useful. They'd be a lot more useful if you could cancel them whenever you wanted to, instead of having to wait 6 turns. Like you could just morph into treant heal to full, and then cancel it.

    I always played fire as a kid but I recently started playing again and went with what the little quiz gave me. I ended up with Myth and it’s surprisingly fun to play from the interactions with Cyrus to the overall flexibility of the school. The minions definitely need a rework tho as I haven’t used any minion since leaving Wizard City which sucks because the concept of having a minion to control and fight beside is neat but it doesn’t work in the current day. Myth needs to have an advantage with the minions compared to the other schools and monstrology that make playing a minion myth worth it.

    When I chose Myth as my first wizard, it was mostly due to curiosity. All the other schools were kinda self-explanatory; fire had fire, ice had ice, storm had lightning, life had nature, death had undead, balance had sand. Myth was the only school that didn’t seem obvious at first, so I chose it to see what it was like. I fell in love with the delivery of the school, the usage of minions let me be creative in battles, the many different references to Greek mythology, all of it was so appealing to me.
    Still today, my Myth wizard is my highest, followed by fire/death.

    Myth is the true balance school in Wizard 101, not the best at anything, not the worst either, it doesn't overly rely on support spells like Balance, it doesn't have the healing gimmicks of Life or Death, and it's not a glass cannon or fizzler like Fire or Storm, or have weak damage options like Life and Ice.
    It is moderate, consistent, jack of all trades master of none, and while it's not flashy, it's comfortable, and customizable with the right spell picks.
    It ironically, more so than the DESIGNATED BALANCE SCHOOL, follows the mantra of "Jack of all trades, master of none...but still better than a master of one."
    By taking away it's main attraction, it has become like the colors of the school itself, it is the butter on every bread, and the water that no one can complain about.
    It will never be top or bottom, and it's perfectly fine with that.
    At least this is what I remember from playing as one over a decade ago, and what I hear from the community.
    It's ironic in a way that it's "rival" school is the home of gambling addicts anonymous, the MOST all or nothing school in the game, against the most balanced school in the game.
    The one thing I will say against Myth...is that everything I JUST said about why it's the most average school...also goes for Death, so basically Death is just Myth+, which is why it's the best at soloing. It just has a better gimmick than Myth outright, along with a lot of the best support spells in the game, in fact, while Myth's strong point is not having any of the weaknesses of other schools, Death just straight up has all their strengths in one way or another.
    If there were a school that's just Death but with Myth's AOE, there would never be a reason to pick any other school.

    Golem minion is good because he costs nothing, does consistent damage, breaks shields and you can sacrifice him for health for 1 pip.
    The rest are pretty garbage though.

    Speaking of minions, I’ve been playing a low level storm wizard and have been using my 3 pip water elemental minion on every tough fight and it provides me with shields and blades whenever I can’t find them + heals me when it feels like it. Not the best, but as a solo player that thing has saved my butt so many times

    An argument shall be made for minions. Talos and Vassanji both love to spam earthquake, so if I have an enemy with a love of spamming shields and blades, I wait for the minion to spam Earthquake and then I smack with Orthrus for the win. The amount of times Vassanji and Talos have saved my hide is insane.

    Just got into this game because of nostalgia recently and I heard myth was top tier damage next to storm so I was like “sure I like yellow kinda”

    So a bit of a gimmicky strategy I did on my low to mid level myth was using the livng puppet minion and then the sacrifice minion for 4 pips spell you can get with a training point in Marleybone to speed up some fights. It definitely becomes less effective later in the game though since it gives you 4 white pips and because enemies more commonly have aoe spells. But it does make a lot of fights from like Marleybone to Zafaria a fair bit faster.

    I remember when I was a kid I used the life polymorph to heal sometimes lol. It came in clutch. Sometimes I even still do it for fun

    Every other school is better? When will people realize it’s all about preference and every single school has spells that no-one uses, it’s not just myth. You can easily play each school and solo the game, so it’s useless to have the argument of the best school. But I guess the identity of the game now is finishing the game “the fastest” like who the f would play anything other than storm at that point. This shit pisses me off to see the community start putting schools in “tiers” and acting like they matter. It really doesn’t matter what school you pick, if you get really good you can be the strongest wizard on any team you play with. Just facts.

    I remember hating myth as a kid cuz the spells were gross (blood bat, humgongo frog) and it felt so out of place as an element or similar. Like between elementals, life and death and balance it just sort of feels like the weird one and my child brain couldn’t really comprehend it, like how would you define myth?

    NOTE: This is all just my take, my opinion as someone who's 1st ever wizard was a Myth, 1st max wizard was Myth, and as someone who has been here on wizard101 since 2009.
    I'm a year late to this video, but he got the overarching identity/purpose of a myth wizard wrong.
    Although minions were originally unique to myth school, they were just a replacement for the lack of healing that every other school had access to.
    The actual primary identity of a myth wizard is around enemy ward manipulation.
    As for the various stun spells linked to Myth school, they were good for team fights because they allowed you or your teammate(s) to buy 1 free round (or 2 with medusa) for recovery, offensive/defensive prep, or the final attack. It was a secondary purpose for myth users, like storm's ability for charm-spell control is their secondary purpose.
    Whether through spells like pierce, shatter, earthquake, or Colossus; myth was designed to counter the enemy's positive/ negative WARD spells.
    Minions (useful as a distraction for the enemy) as well as providing shields, blades, and traps for you so you can focus on something else, like pip recovery, after using a heal (since myth was always the only school that did not have their own dedicated healing spell). Without a life mastery amulet, healing drained more pips for us. Having a minion hit the enemy takes the enemy's attention off of you, so you can heal, shield, blade/trap faster, etc. while your minion takes all the damage for a short time.
    Kingisle has screwed the schools out of much their unique-ness.
    What made OG Minotaur and OG Orthrus so unique to myth was their ability to (in 1 single turn) take out the enemy shield, AND hit with solid damage right after.
    While i like that myth now has a 7 pip aoe, i would be willing to drop its damage to 50+625 if it meant KEEPING its aoe status while re-implementing its original purpose of hitting through a shield.
    In a group of other wizards, myth was good for slowing down the enemy's push against us. Whether through our ability to eliminate enemy traps on me and my teammates, stunning the mob so we take less damage during a critical round, or clearing the enemies of their shields as soon as our hitter is ready.

    I originally made a myth wizard and embraced the minion stuff but once I got to the higher levels and got older I realized that they are pretty freaking useless. So all in all I love the idea of myth wizards and minion based strategy but it just doesn’t work out like I wish it did.

    Death is the attack heal, Life is the healer, Balance is support, storm is attack, ice is the defender/tank, fire is the damage over time, Myth IMO Is the leader/face of it all

    Every school can use Monstrology, however Myth can use the Monstrology monster cards without any penalties to power pip usage. That is unless you buy a Myth mastery amulet.

    The only reason i started a myth wiz was because Cyrus drake is kinda bad ass and in the dragon spyre quest you really see how much he cares, he's just been hardened over time

    Honestly at this point, the only reasonable way to save the myth school would be to remove the limit on summoned minions and then reduce the cost of all exclusive myth minions to 0 pips like the puppet minion, then at least they wouldn't be a pip drain.

    I think there is a way to fix myth here. Make it a Solo focused school. That gives it an identity. Give us spells that let us sacrifice minions for strong blades, pips, shields, or a way to summon multiple minions we control.

    the 0 pip minion is S tier no troll... the value it gives you for basically a pass is insane (obvi at low levels when your going to be using it, wiz city, krok).

    Myth has some of the most annoying spells in the game. Orthrus deals stupid high damage, Earthquake is the bane of my existence and the sole reason I learned Myth Dispel on my Fire, Medusa stuns for *2 rounds*, Basilisk stuns for 3(!!!), I could go on... but Myth's gimmick is that it has no gimmick. It gets a little bit of everything. It's strong against Storm bosses, it gets some utility, it gets some damage.

      Exactly! Honesty I feel like something easy would be after the final myth minion, they add in one spell that’s called “monster hoard “that summons 3 random myth minions from the game. Each would not be below rank 10 because at this point you’d be probably level 100

    My Myth is now level 90 and I'm surprised how much I love my character. Maybe it's because I have 4 high leveled (110-120) alts and feel so experienced.

    Confusion? Sacrifice minion? Trade hanging effects? Minions are useful to support yourself tbh. Like I would make a regular deck then add like two minions and two sacrifices, then when I need to heal I would just do a “two round heal” casting the minion then immediately killing it. Same thing with hanging effects, cast minion and immediately trade. If you really want mess with the opponent, sacrifice right after trading effects, and you get a nice heal with all the traded effects gone.

    Only reason why I started playing again was because of the nostalgia I had whenI was like 10 and did the starting game personality test and they gave me myth, so thats the school I start my accounts with, nostalgia factor

    In defense of monstrology, all other schools can only make 1 monstrology minion at a time
    Myth can make two
    But like
    those two slots can be other wizard friends, and wizard friends dont cost pips and they sometimes know what they are doing. At least you have sacrificial fodder when soloing.

    This series was truly awesome, from start to finish. As a mod and a friend, I truly hope that people see these takes as more than just jokes when they get to this video.
    There's truly something about this game that's kept people coming back, and we don't know what it is. I make a goddamn guarantee if you asked people why they play Wizard101, they'd have no clear answer.
    Honestly, Wiz is still one of my favorite games of all time, and when people ask why I give them the same answer: "I don't fucking know".
    This video, believe it or not, gave me some clarity: because even though it's outdated as hell, the graphics need an overhaul, the gameplay can be stale, and Myth School fucking sucks... this game is just pure nostalgic fun. It takes you back to the early days of the 2000s where everyone wanted to be the highest level in an MMO. And honestly, this game was one of my first games EVER, so it boosts the effect it has on me.
    Wiz will always be a treasure in my mind - and I assume it's the same for you too, given you've based this channel on it for so long -, and no one can change my mind about it. It's such a weird love that I have, but it's one I cherish.
    Myth school still sucks though.

    Hard disagree with the monstrology point, first of all it takes a *lot* of time and effort to get monstrology minions, often fighting the same enemies dozens of times just to get three or four treasure cards, and myth not only has the obvious boon of being able to summon 3 monstrology minions, but also their basic power pips apply to the monstrology treasure cards, meaning if you ever get a power pip, you can immediately trade it in for a minion without losing basically any tempo in the fight. Plus guess what, Myth has two great AOEs that make them great for gathering monstrology.

    I have always seen myth as the pvp school with all of the stunning and minion shananigans there is a few times that I can see them being useful in some side quest bosses but that's about it unless you have a fire or death that doesn't know what they are doing so they are relying on the myth to do everything

    I'm a myth main with a nearly maxed myth at the current moment. It is still one of my favorite schools despite everything. The myth school feels so uniquely wizard101 in concept, generic fire wizards, plant wizards, ice wizards, and so on feel like a dime a dozen in various media but I can't say I have seen something like myth all that much. Not to mention I love a lot of their aesthetics and spell inspiration. The story with Cyrus growing to respect you I feel is also very well done and his little speech at your graduation at the start of arc 3 is really nice. The minions may not be that great but we have hard hitting and cool looking spells and honestly, its still my favorite school.

    And ngl the myth school minions are kinda (soooo) useless but I mean I've never used them as a pve but pvp I use em alot... Never the less myth is really op at l00 cuz of mystic colossus which is really op when it comes to boss cheats when they spam that 90% tower shield...

      yeah but there is like one boss who does this and until the myth wizard gets shadow pip to0 use mystic colossus the other team member can easily kill the boss so still myth is useless

    The only upside to myth with the minion thing is they can summon 3 at a time only if they let you do that with any so you can solo with a 4 person party

    The stuns, THOSE PAIN IN THE ASS MEDUSAS BRO going against a myth is a real pain in the ass earthquake can take away your blades, medusa can stun, grendel can heal (which i actually wanna get) but basically when it comes to minions i like using the cyclops specifically because he's just there and he can take a few hits to draw agro off me (i believe that's what they were going for but utterly failed at it) but yea other then that i definitely like soloing myth a lot more then teaming with a myth and myth definitely is a longer battle setting as opposed to storm which are just glass cannons
