Thank you for watching! When you deal with lore this vast, getting stuff wrong happens. Let me know if you find anything and I'll add it to this comment. Love you guys! Thumbs up for the algorithm! * 6:11 all of these pictures show Kitava, not the Beast. The Beast didn't really have a normal body at the point of PoE1's story, but was rather an entire mountain filled with guts.
I dont know how I hadnt noticed until now that the Mawdun mine is for building a caravan, and those golems carrying big wheels are exactly the wheels for the caravan.
When you go in the mine as a warrior they question what they could need all that metal for. My question is that if the dreadnought is pulled by big ol' lizards then why is our caravan being pulled by about 40 slave power? LoL
@@Loreweavverhey man if you go back and look idk if you can now but when you get the horn of vasteria and use it and you go to the top of caravan you’ll see 2 big ass lizards being pulled by it also the 50 sun slaves
@@YOITSKUSH I'll go back and look again but I've not noticed any lizards on the players caravan. There were only about 40 slaves when I looked out there. If there were also two giant dinosaurs then the slaves seem a bit redundant. How much extra torque are those dudes adding to the lizards pull ratio? LoL That just made it stupider and funnier.
Great video, the only thing I really had a problem with was when you got to the valley of the titans and just flatly described what the player does there. This was the oldest place in the entire setting, amongst the corpses of the first people there. Given what the Monk says when you get there, it is likely that their destruction was related to demons from the Breach. And we have reason to believe that may be important... later. That and it may not be clear what the timescales we're dealing with here are like: The Eternal Empire fell around 200 years ago, and the Vaal significantly further back. The Vaal know the Maraketh, but are tinkering with the living Beast. Most of the gods were sealed for several hundred (or thousand?) years by this point, with the last to rest being Garukhan. When Garukhan was mortal, she rode a Mastadon, as you pointed out - but those mastadons have been extinct for at minimum hundreds of years, and the rivers and jungles of the Vastiri with them. Everything to do with the Primordials (who you learn about during the endgame) would have been around the time, or maybe even after the earliest gods took on their immortality. But the titans are older than all of that...
Great job! Really enjoying these. You are fleshing out so much more of the story for me as I play through the campaign. I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you did here. Sending your videos to my friends who also play. Keep it up, I am looking forward to learning more about Act III.
Been so excited for this! Just started playing POE2, listening to your first video while finishing up Act 1 was peak gaming, probably went through it 2 or 3 times. Amazing stuff
Thanks for makeing these cool lore videos, I absolutelly love ARPG lore and really apprechiate you making these videos! Keep it up, looking forward to the next one!
***spoiler*** If you play as a sorceress you find out your character was part of the caravans and was banished. You’re told after stopping the raiders that you’ve taken the first steps in the path to be welcomed back into their culture and will be if you continue to help. I’m not sure how many lines of dialogue are different, but there’s more than a couple that seem unique to you
It is a nice little touch but I think it is just like the warrior in act one. Not a huge amount of lines but a few little things acknowledging that people know you or know of you and you know of the places we explore. The water goddess acknowledges you as a tale-woman which is kind of neat. Made me wonder if any of the other classes will have zones that they are tied to in some way.
Appreciate the video. I was looking forward this after your act 1 lore. Please release act 3 asap! Joking aside, as a new POE player this video is very nice for those who wanted to know more about the lore.
I don't think it was intentional but the transition from act 3 to cruel act 1 was actually lore friendly. The way it happened for me is that I got a quest to return through the portal and when I went through my game crashed and when I rebooted I was standing on the riverbank where everything had begun. So, it was like the time portal had glitched out as the cataclysm arrived and that version of myself was sent back in time to do it all again. The second time through it was like I was slightly later completing the events and the cataclysm came before I stepped through the time gate and so I'm trapped in the past doing maps (though I can still time travel via the way stone network.)
Love this. Im new to POE, and I get the gist of the story, but man, the lore is rich and deep. I usually just scratch my head and bonk everything, but with your video, Im like, "ohhhhh, I get it now"
When you finish Act 3, you can get a little bit of extra exposition by traveling back to the Act 3 town and talking to everyone, but you can't travel there directly by using the waypoints, you have to go to one of the present-day areas and then use a portal.
6:11 all of these pictures show Kitava, not the Beast. The Beast didn't really have a normal body at the point of PoE1's story, but was rather an entire mountain filled with guts.
What's ineteresting, towards the end of the fight with Jamanra, he is trying to strike Asala. That's why he is saying "Die foolish Sekhema", and your character screams "ASALA!". But he is so worned out by the fight, he hits himself. Then Asala finishes him. He actually uses the same attack on you repeatedly during the fight, the spikes (or whatever it is) striking from behind him towards his target. That's why he misses, not realizing where the spikes are, they hit him.
The story of the faridun is actually so sad and act 2 really filled me with emotion after it all ended. People abandoned and were most likely not very violent; just focused on surviving and taking care of eachother. Finally Janmanra stood up to the injustice and was killed for it. Just for his soul to be corrupted and resurrected for evil means along with the people he tried to save. The ending is actually beautiful that they laid him to rest at Deshar.
Yeah. He wanted a chance for his people to prove themselves, not overrule them. In my opinion, a good cause. He did nothing wrong from what I understand
With Sin being revealed, I wonder if we'll ever see Innocence again. He exiled himself to someplace cold from what I recall from PoE 1. Would also be interesting to find out who the PoE 2 templar worships when he gets released since the PoE 1 templar worshipped Innocence.
Do you have a second channel or something where you make Lets Plays? LPs are my favorite content from you I hope you do more of it, doesnt really matter what game
is ever explained why sin is the only god that doesnt go crazy with power? my take on it is that since he is a god that isnt actually being fed divinity since nobody really benerates him, he gets to maintain his self, while the other gods get shaped into what their believers think of them and eventually become that. that also means that he is probably the less powerful god also. as for what sin says when he says the new beast is too powerful... i mean, i dont know what had happened in those 20 years, but im quite sure that the beast slayer, the kitava slayer and the one that stopped sirius is probably still around after 20 years, and that one for sure has the power right? is ever explained what happens to the original exile from poe1? i do hope we get some story there too in the future.
One thing I found inconsistent throughout the story is Orianna. We see the influence of corruption, especially on those closest to the beast. Even the corruption on Jamanra. Yet she's there and completely fine. Who is she? What are her goals?

Nice i was waiting for this one to drop! i have been playing co-op so there was little time to explore the might lore of the maraketh!

Super weak at the end, he messed up
At first I thought the slaves are zombies. I really liked the idea. But the loading screen with the whipping rider didn't fit.
That could be cool! Good luck taming them.
I am not an outsider - the sorceress is from the act II people after all :)
You could tell the devs really liked this character and their girl boss characters in general
For sure
A minor quibble: the word for an outsider that has proven himself is not pronounced "jenga" like the puzzle game but more like "JEEn-GAK"

Yep

the first video had a better form.
This game got story ? most ppl is moaning about lack of lore and story
