This is my first successful aluminum part off of my MPCNC! While the numpad isn't perfect, it's a great step in the right direction for the machine.
If there is enough demand, I can upload longer videos of the MPCNC cutting. I know some people can watch it all day, while others can find it pretty boring haha.
Speeds/feeds:
Walnut - 30in/min, 0.22in DOC, 2D Adaptive 0.1in Optimal Load
Aluminum - 10in/min, 0.04in DOC, Single Flue Endmill from V1
Regarding the speeds/feeds for the aluminum. This is about as fast as I can go with this bit. Also one thing I'll be doing in the future is a finishing pass for the aluminum. I did it for the walnut along the inside of the case, but forgot to for the aluminum. The switches were a tight fit when I put them in, but it worked.
Nice project, looks good. Not to mention the priceless XP points :-D
Looks great! The only thing I’d do differently is to inset the aluminum on the face for a wood reveal around. Cool project!
@@ProjectsbyBrian Nice! Looking forward to the content - sub'd!
your pushing that primo to the limit aaaaaaaa :)
@@ProjectsbyBrian you have a mega on it?
@@ProjectsbyBrian yes ok thanks
The feeds and speeds are incredibile! I must upgrade my burly!!!!
Projects by Brian nice to hear. Sure. If i’m not wrong, only part of the aluminum machining. Right?
Projects by Brian Nice job buddy. Thank you
@@ProjectsbyBrian Brian could i know your z workspace? I'm searching the sweet spot for Z workspace and the max rigidity. Thank you
@@ProjectsbyBrianMmm..I was thinking of something between 4 and 6 inches. How does it look to you?
@@ProjectsbyBrian
I was just trying to get as much working space as possible without compromising the rigidity. Onestly i don't have " a target project. Nope cnc only
good stuff!
I noticed your spindle powers on at the same time after homing your Z. Is your control board doing that, and if yes, how is that circuit oriented? Is it just a relay connected to an unused Dpin?
Can i use the expansion board v3 from the burly version without setting anything else Please write back soon LG Felix
Thanks for the videos. What is the little tool you're using to zero the Z axis?
Which outer diameter is used for nut inserts?
with what bit did you cut the cherry cutouts? I want to cut a keyboard plate and I'm afraid that I'll have to use a very thin tip due to the corner radius (cherry mx says that corner radius for the mount hole should be
@@ProjectsbyBrian in diameter i guess. how big where the switch holes? 14mm on each side?
@@ProjectsbyBrian sure. Haven't tried to use swillkb to an actual plate yet though - I just want to make sure that a plate can be CNCed.
It's very weird they're 19.05, cherry mx says 14mm hole in its docs. I'm missing something
Where did you get the inserts?
What's your CAM software?
Would you happen to have the stl or link to the dewalt mount? I've been looking for a decent vacuum setup and I think that mount would work. for me.
@@ProjectsbyBrian Awesome thank you! Are you mounting or zip tying the hose to the upper tool mount in any way or is it just free floating?
@@ProjectsbyBrian Gotcha, printing this out now. Thank you for the info and the remix to fit the rigid hose!
take oil next time. linseed
