Always interesting to see how Warwick does things "behind the scenes." The final product should be well worth your wait, I think. The Fortress bass is a model that I chose also, Joe. Even though that was back in '95, I still have and use that bass often. Nothing else plays as smooth, nor sounds as good to me.(AAAA Flame Maple top on Swamp Ash body/3pc.Wenge neck) And you are correct about the Swamp Ash body, hard to compare to it's characteristics in tone & sustain. The overall balance of this instrument is as you say as well. I certainly hope that you enjoy your Warwick for years to come as I have. Thanks Joe, as always, for the tutorials and I will be checking out your website soon.
Looks good, Joe. Always loved Warwick stuff. I am looking forward to what someone with your level of artistry and experience is going to have them build. Many of their basses leave me with a 'well this is good, but...' kind of experience. Hopefully you'll take all those 'buts' away...I like the 12th fret horn idea - some things Leo just did right the first time, you know. Anyway, congratulations, well deserved, love your videos, your musical concepts, and what a fine and systematic, thoughtful teacher you are. I recommend your videos to my students. Thank you.
Thanks man! There are some 'key' concepts that we've built into this bass that will definitely remove some of those 'buts'. But...as always, different people will gravitate towards different things. Stay tuned for further updates!
I think the unveiling and first public performance of this bass should be complimented by your pink velour jumpsuit that Rufus Philpott claims was your sole 80’s attire.😄
Looking good Joe. Had a feeling you would use Aguilar PU’s, as you have mentioned your love for them in the past. Curious as to what on board/Preamp will be installed on your bass ?
I really like the mods to the body shape.

Cheers Tom!
You just know it's going to be awesome! I'll bet you're thrilled, Joe! 😁
I'm looking forward to it!
Wow again Joe. An excellent job. I bet you can’t wait to play it. Looks fantastic even at this stage.
You betcha!

Haaaa! Is Philpot talking smack again?

Preamp will be a custom made for me by Warwick, made to my specs.
