this item probably extended my time until I have to retire from my cleaning jobs by at least 5 yrs! cannot say enough good about it. Also, I got what I call a grabber. it's a light weight pole with a pincer on one end and a handle that operates the pincer on the other end. they are about 30 inches in length. the amount of times i have to bend over has been minimized to the point wear my back does not hurt at the end of the day. great for picking up rugs, transferring laundry from washer to dryer, grabbing items left on floors by customers.,etc. you get the picture. i use them in my house, garage, and yard, too. I almost quit cleaning houses before I found these 2 tools. 63 yrs young and still going strong.
Couldn’t figure out how to attach/use my Swifter Duster before finding this video! As a senior citizen, I’ve learned a great deal from your RUclips channel. You have a knack for clearly & succinctly explaining things! Thank you.
I have to tell you I am a house cleaning service owner and this duster six foot extension is honestly hands down the best tool I have ever purchased for my business I use it for everything even sweeping dusting the floors the walls everything the vents the fans it's absolutely incredible
Angela, you have me geeking out on cleaning products! Every time I watch your videos these items go in hubby's Amazon cart! My steamer, mop head replacements, soap, etc arrived yesterday! You are very effective...only problem is now I actually have to clean! 🤣😉 I never even knew Swiffer had a 6ft extender! Thanks! 👍❤
LOL. Ah, we're twins. I too geek out on cleaning products. Truth: Swiffer has a 3 ft extender version that I'm not really crazy about. BUT, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this one at the store with the really durable handle and the 6 ft extension. I like it because it's user-friendly for homeowners and seniors who don't have as much mobility or range of a trained and toned professional cleaner. Let me know how it works for you. Hope you and the family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. 🙏😍
@@AskAngelaBrown Haha! This is counter productive to the hoarding aspect of things! 🤪 You had me at lightweight! I like the medium sized one, but with 10ft plus ceilings and dark paint, this should be awesome for dusting walls! Love to the family! 😊❤❤❤

I LOVE this product and how far it reaches! We use the heavy duty replacements because they are so thick... What's crazy is i just found out what that button does🤣🤣 Thanks Ang
I bought this for my mom to use on her ceiling fan. Cuz she didn't have anything to reach it to keep it clean. I had cleaned it with a step stool and my 3ft Swiffer extender duster and it was caked in dust! Haha. She loves it.
LOL. Right? The one on the pole was all fluffed up when it arrived and I thought it was a special version I didn't know about. Had to double-check that they were both heavy-duty and exactly the same. They tried to trick me. 😂
Swiffer made my life so much easier. I have the hand wands in every room. It really does make a difference than having to go grab it vs it already being there.
My family tease me that I’m possessed by a duster. They’d love to know I couldn’t wait to the end, and paused the video to go buy one. No way they’ll ever find out tho:) Thanks for the info Angela!
LOL. The smaller Swiffer Duster I have with me at all times. My team jokes that they will bury me with one when I die so I can leave the world a cleaner place. 😜

Along with this extender use clean, do you dust WALLS - and how often? Just when you see the need, or with one of your regular cleans -- deep or maintenance? Hi Angie, haven't talked to you in a while. Thanks for all your great tips! I know SO much more than I did before! ( My house is still just as dirty, but I know so much more! So there's THAT! LOL!)
Hi Rita, It’s so nice that you’ve reached out. To determine how often to clean something you have to take into consideration - how dusty your house is and what are the culprits (pollen, pets, etc)?
Thank you so much for this one I was having such a hard time trying to figure out how to put the replacements on I just couldn’t seem to find the pockets thank you Angela
Angela, you have turned me from a feather duster user to a Swiffer user. Although I feel like it's a bit more expensive... (I'm a pro solo cleaner) so I do go through them quite a bit, but I love cleaning with them.
Keep me posted and let me know how you like it. It's fun and easy to use and should be lightweight enough that it won't agitate any pain in your joints. 👏
Sister RA sufferer, here. On our good days, we overdo it, trying to get ahead or catch up, the rebound can be really bad. Great Light weight tool for the high spots, should have bought the kit sooner. Works great at dusting each of the window panes on the French doors! Thanks for the tips!
I have the small, medium, and 6 ft. I like them. We have some very high ceilings & we use long poles with brushes. However, I want to get one of those kits. I think I’ll tell my husband that I want one for Christmas….That would be a mean trick to ask for all my cleaning gizmos for Christmas so he spends the next month shopping for my cleaning supplies….
Hi Sidney, having the right tools to clean your home is far less expensive than hiring someone to come clean your home. It's a good investment. Just the same, keep me posted and let me know how it goes. I'm curious to hear what happens next. :-)
I just saw a hack where you can make your OWN dusters cleaners so you can get into nooks and crannies around your toilet. Using the extrenetion pole rod you put your other wet cleaning wipes wrapped around them with cheapy hair elastics. It is narrower and more flexible to get in behind the toilet etc.. I hate having to spend a lot of money for really specific non-standardized cleaning supplies.
Hi Angela. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise! Really appreciate your product reviews. Would you have a video on floor mops and bucket systems? If not if you get the chance to do one I’m sure it will be very much appreciated! Thanks 🙏
Hi Will, I'm unclear if you're a professional cleaner, doing residential or commercial cleaning or if you are a homeowner. Here is a video we did recently on this very topic ruclips.net/video/9nx43IzLyhA/видео.html and it is scalable depending on the type of flooring - and size of flooring you're cleaning.
Keep me posted. I've heard many people discovering the button for the first time. LOL. It is in fact a game changer and makes dusting things from various angles so much easier.
Hey, Angela! How do you know when to replace the head within the same client home? I find I can do entire houses with 2 heads, but some of my girls are literally going through an entire box in one home on a deep clean. What is a good way to depict when it needs changed so I can slow them down on replacing them?
Hi Angela! Thank you for your content, it really helps! We have a Comercial cleaning service and I need your help! We just received our first complaint and im not sure how to handle it. Can you do a video on how to handle customer service? Thanks for everything you do!!
Hi JR, congratulations on your commercial cleaning service. How you handle the situation is you contact the customer, find out where the dissatisfaction lies. Fix the root of the problem (i.e. sloppy work, over promising, missed expectations etc.) And let the customer know that making the situation right is your priority.
Hi. It will depend on the type of flooring. you can try searching my channel for your type of flooring, there's a good chance I have a video on it. Thanks! 😃
Yes, there is a small button at the very center of the 6 ft Swiffer Extender. You simply lock it in place after putting it in the position you want to keep it in. And to move the head after it is locked, you simply reverse the direction of the button. Great question.
I suppose you could - I've never tried it. It is actually too big to use as a single duster - if the single duster is what you are looking for, keep your 3 ft, extender. It will work better for what you are trying to do.
I think that might be a Swiffer question. To me the difference is fancy marketing. They both do the same job and they both pick up a good deal. I've used them interchangeably and ended up with the same results. Let me know if you find out any slight differences that I should know about. When buying refills, it often comes to what the store has in stock.
Do you need to do anything to the Swiffer to make the dust really stick to the head instead of just stirring it around? I've never tried a Swiffer, but I caught what you said about the "trap and lock technology." I guess I'm asking how well it works.
Yes, the key is to use the Swiffer brand refills. #NotSponsored. The cheap ones from Wal-mart or other knock off brands will just stir the dust around and the fibers will drift from the duster making you regret the money you spent trying to save money. As a professional cleaner I've tried all the different brand refills and I'm giving Swiffer the thumbs up on their patented technology. If you shake a Swiffer full of dust, the dust stays in the duster, including hair, and dead bugs. Give it a try and keep me posted. Let me know how you like it.
First time I used it I did not know about the button . Lol it was so hard because it constantly moved . There is another size inbetween those too . I use this one alot .
Hi Sylvia, Thanks for sharing this. Yes, there is a size in between and it's not my favorite. It's considerably shorter than the six feet and is not as durable. It's also too long to fit in my back pocket which means I don't have it with me when I need it. So, I was very excited when they came out with this model. Do you use the 3ft version at home or on a cleaning job?
Not in the sense that you can put them in the recycling bin at your curb. The Swiffer company is working in tandem with Terra Cycle www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades/swiffer to recycle the Swiffer Duster and Mop pads you use to prevent them from going straight to a landfill. Sign up today if you would like to ship your used Swiffer Duster disposable heads back.
Totally a off topic question? How do you feel about ear buds. Is it a no no? When the homeowner is present. I get more done faster and they talk to me less. Sometimes I can blow a half hour listening. Thanks
With professional cleaners we allow one earbud in so you can be learning while earning. (Listen to business podcasts or something to keep your brain alive.) And the other ear allows you to stay situationally aware to your surroundings and customers. As far as talking - it's important to create boundaries up front with your clients so there are no surprises or wasted time on either end of the transaction.
How do you keep the dusters from sliding back off the wand while using it? I can't seem to keep them on. UPDATE: I've been using the new 6ft version without any issues! I can't live without it!
That is a great question. I've been using Swiffer dusters for the better part of 15 years and haven't had that problem except maybe once or twice. Maybe it the technique you are using when dusting? Maybe you have a bum dusting wand? I really don't know.
@@AskAngelaBrown I wondered if I was using it wrong or didn't put the duster on right lol. I'm going to try again with the 6 ft wand. Thank you for the review and demonstration.
If it is your own personal home, use your common sense and when it's gross, toss it. If you are a professional and you touch all the items in a customer's home, toss it at the end of that job. DO NOT take it to another customer's home and touch all the items in their home with the duster you used in someone else's home. It's a cross-contamination prevention thing, does that make sense?
No. It's disposable which prevents cross-contamination from house to house. You can buy washable heads on Amazon if you prefer to wash them between each job. amzn.to/32JmRtR
Angela, my kitchen floor feels gritty, when i walk barefoot on it? Not sure why? I dust it, vacuum and wash floor.but nothing has helped.I even rinsed patio with hose.what the heck is on the floor? Also i love to clean and love lots of products lol how do i not ovet buy on products?
My fav toilet bowl cleaner is.,.,baking soda half cup..,one fourth hydrogen peroxide, one fourth dish soap, and 15 drops tea tree oil. Try it Angela, and tell me what u think? My next fav is alkazeltzer and blue tabs, I like the color blue in toilet,
Angela, I love your videos and we use some for training new staff. However, my professional opinion is that the swiffer duster is best used in the trash. I have used them briefly (on my own, not at a clients property) and they do a horrible job at actually thoroughly dusting. I do not recommend this product for anyone who charges for a cleaning service, especially a professional business. Again, love your videos...I just don't recommend swiffer duster or their products for professional cleaning. Part of a cleaning business' responsiblity is maintaining and cleaning equipment regularly, any disposable equipment is cheap. Sure, maybe if you're cleaning your own home in a last minute panic clean with no other supplies. I said what I said. -Owner/ Dream Professional Clean
@@AskAngelaBrown 3 foot. I stopped after that. 😆 thank you for taking the time to read my comment! You are so awesome. Thanks for the videos, we love them.
@@shelbywhite7389 funny you mentioned 3 ft because I read in the comments that she didn't care for the three feet version and that the six feet extenders are better..lol
There is a chemical coating on the Swiffer Dusters which is part of the patented trap and lock technology Swiffer dusters are famous for. They may pick up bedbugs, but the dusters are not designed as a bedbug removal tool. Please get an exterminator to come in if you have the presence of bedbugs. Stay safe. 🙏
I've never used Swiffer but I plan too. I need something to get under my couch and beds since I have hardwood floors, I can't believe how quick dust gets under them and I just had a brand new HVAC until complete with all new duct work installed. It's a constant battle with the dust.
The Swiffer 6 Ft Extenders are the new rave. They are good for so many things from ceilings, recessed lighting, window transoms, baseboards, under sofas, stairwells, on tops of fridges, tall cupboards and more. Let me know how you like it if you get one.
I'm wondering if I'm the only one who's 6' Swiffer doesn't stay locked. It's a real pain trying to use it, it unlocks itself every time I lock it and has done that right from the get-go. I have been cleaning for 30 years, and was excited when these first came out, but the one I have is clearly flawed, or are there others out there with the same locking/unlocking problem? 🤔
You may not be the only one, but your unit may also be under warranty. I'd check with the customer service dept. at Swiffer and have them give your their tips, suggestions or a replacement.
Well that’s rude. This is a video about the swiffer and there is furniture there. She has lots of videos you can watch about cleaning houses (with furniture)! Also I clean professionally and most people I work for don’t have a lot of furniture. Most of them are minimalists. Which as you can imagine makes cleaning much easier!
To be honest.... less is best👌 I grew up with a house full of furniture and cleaning felt like a 24 hour task. My house is similar to what she show. I love cleaning my home as well
You could kindly mention that you've noticed the duster has been used extensively and ask if it might be time for a fresh one. Try to keep the conversation open and friendly😊
I found this video just to say that I hate the double head on the 6 foot handle. The locking mechanism fails often and the heads don't go on the right way because they're mounted upside down. If it was just a single head it would be more precise and less cumbersome to use.

Angela, I love the line “leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.” But, sorry there’s a but, the Swiffer is a TERRIBLE environmentally dangerous gadget. The “convenient” throw away toppers are a waste and shouldn’t be put in the garbage. If one must use these, please show people how to use a reusable microfibre cloth instead. The extender poles are made in China of horrible plastics from polymers that are an environmental nightmare from extraction, production, and -yes- they break and people simply toss those out as well. More useless garbage. Please show those who need a lighter weight dusting option ways that they can dust while being environmentally aware so that we can “leave this earth to our grandchildren a much cleaner place than we find it now with people using, tossing, and “garbaging” these terrible environmental nightmare tools”!! Please!
You read my mind. I have tried many re-useable, washable alternatives but they don't compare. I do not like single use disposable things in general but the Swiffer technology does work best for holding onto the dust and fuzzies. Unfortunately, fleece, microfiber, feather dusters, even the generic swiffer type cloths do not clean as well.

Thank you. One ear bud, I do that sometimes. Love your videos, keep up the great work you share. Oklahoma
Since the pads are disposable, can you give an idea on how long they can be used before disposing? 🤔
Can I ask, is the swift head recyclable?
No. It's disposable which prevents cross-contamination from house to house. You can buy washable heads on Amazon if you prefer to wash them between each job. amzn.to/32JmRtR
Thank you.
Anything I can buy that opens things easy lol granny 67...It took me like over 10 min just to open a package lol..well served like anyway lol
My fav toilet bowl cleaner is.,.,baking soda half cup..,one fourth hydrogen peroxide, one fourth dish soap, and 15 drops tea tree oil. Try it Angela, and tell me what u think? My next fav is alkazeltzer and blue tabs, I like the color blue in toilet,
Thank you sharing that. 🤗 I appreciate you being here and joining the conversation. ☺
Thanks Shelby for sharing your opinion. I'm curious was the one you used the 3 ft or the 6 ft version?
@@AskAngelaBrown 3 foot. I stopped after that. 😆 thank you for taking the time to read my comment! You are so awesome. Thanks for the videos, we love them.
@@shelbywhite7389 funny you mentioned 3 ft because I read in the comments that she didn't care for the three feet version and that the six feet extenders are better..lol
Ty for the tutorial I have but didn’t know it was interchangeable and great tips on different areas to clean
Thanks for watching and for taking time out of your day to drop me a line. 👍
are they made with chemicals? Do they capture bedbugs?

I don't like that one. It doesn't stay locked and it is a little heavy. There is one in-between the small handle and the one you reviewed.
Thank you for sharing your input.
Swifter products are the most versatile
Right? I love them for that very reason. Thanks for watching. :-)
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers! 😍
I'd love it if you'd show how to clean a home that actually has furniture in it and how real people live..
Hi Paula, thanks for the feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the show and share your opinions.
To be honest.... less is best👌 I grew up with a house full of furniture and cleaning felt like a 24 hour task. My house is similar to what she show. I love cleaning my home as well
My cleaner uses this duster until it is almost black. How do I politely tell her it is too soiled without her getting upset?
You could kindly mention that you've noticed the duster has been used extensively and ask if it might be time for a fresh one. Try to keep the conversation open and friendly😊
@@AskAngelaBrown I snuck a clean one in her supplies. She never noticed. Thanks
Without seeing the video you’ll never know how to load the Duster.. Thanks for RUclips
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help
I found this video just to say that I hate the double head on the 6 foot handle. The locking mechanism fails often and the heads don't go on the right way because they're mounted upside down. If it was just a single head it would be more precise and less cumbersome to use.
Thank you for sharing your review!

Please!
Great points - well received. Thanks for sharing this. 👍👍👍
