Part 2 of my LARP Archery video from the May 2018 Bicolline Military Campaign “Le crime ne paie pas!” (Crime does not Pay!).
This campaign had special rules; no armor, shields under 24” and only 1 handed weapons (110cm or under). I’m fighting on the side of “Fils du Vent” or roughly translated “sons of the wind” against “Phratries des Malandrins”.
This scenario lasted about 1 hour, the objective was to control 4 time clocks on the battlefield (Old Town). A special objective in the center of the field (Trollball field) was a bell that could be rung for extra points every 5 mins by the leader of the fronts.
*Basic Bicolline Combat Rules*
-Hits to arm/leg = lose the limb
-Hits to Torso/head = dead
-Arrows/spears can’t attack head
-No trust/stab at the head
-Face is not a legal target
-Lightest touch counts as a hit

That buckler block at 2:39 is amazing. I can’t believe a larp arrow made that noise hitting it.
I love the perspective and the commentary!
Thank you for being one of the "good" archers - specifically avoiding headshots. :)
thank you! I hit sooooo many legs instead of getting kills cause maybe i'm too cautious haha
I had my first LARP archery experience last weekend - and I delivered no headshots! I was proud of myself for following your example!
I am trying to get to Bicolline as soon as I can. I need to get my passport, and may not be able to this year.
some systems encourage head shots they do this mostly to encorage wereing hellmits but they are very strict on arrow controll no home mades no screwons or arows bellow certan diamiter and check evry arow befor you put it in your quiver or shoot it your choise wich
This is a pretty good video I like how you showed your landed shots and display when killed.
This!!! This is the lamp content I want to see/experience/learn!! Ty for making, only two vids but they’re so good!! 10/10
This dude is a real combat archer.
I keep watching this video series over and over - I want to go to Bicolline so bad now... Looks like the plan is to go to the Battle of Bicolline in 2019!
you're a really good archer man, respect
For those who wondered, what the other guy shouted after he got the dude in the balls was "For fuck sake stop being an archer"
I didn't know there were battles in the town. That was pretty intense at the end.
yeah! almost all of the weekend events are in the town. During the week long Great Battle its across the river because the town has 3000 people in it

The sniper!
Yeah very nice job by the healer and Fionn.
awesome! :)
My biggest question is whether or not you have to use period appropriate bows? I have modern recurve bows that I would love to use for LARPing, but I don't know if I would have to buy a trad bow to do it
Hi my friend! Great video showing a lot of what archery is like there - if you don’t mind, had a couple questions:
1. Any reason you don’t carry a sword as well for point blank defense while arching? Just personal style or is it frowned upon?
2. How big of a quiver do you suggest, and how many arrows do you usually carry on to the field? I’ve seen the backpack quivers that hold 20+...wondering if that is frowned upon.
3. Any other tips for a first time Bico archer this year?
Oh and one last one! Is there an issue with using a wood/lamenated bow?
Curious question; can you pick up arrows as you go, or do you have to go get them from a designated place?
you can pick them up off the ground, but always check them before firing. at the end of the scenario there is a big arrow pile and you sort through to find yours.
Curious dane here: why do the downed people stay where they died, instead of moving out to the side to make sure that no one steps on them?
Christian Kierans it’s a bico rules thing that no one is super clear on. You’re allowed to go respawn after you’re killed, but you have to wait for the fighting near you to stop. It’s not a hard rule so it gets interpreted a number of ways. Some people also don’t want to walk back and are waiting (hoping) for a healer
Christian Kierans Immersion mainly. And what LB said.
Great video! I do have a question. How did you get such decent audio with the gopro at the intro clip? I'd guess that you're not using the waterproof case which does inhibit the camera's sound.
I'm using a gopro hero 2018 without a case, it's a little risky but the camera is pretty rugged.

Do you know what the maximum pull for a bow at Bicolline is? I currently have one that is 30lbs at 28in, and am hoping that is acceptable
I think that might be too much, they measure the bows a specific way, i'll see if i can link you the rules
Scott B Too heavy, it’s case by case afaik but the max is 25lbs.
where is this event located? thank you
We do headshots in airsoft...grow sum ballz dude. Still nice vid 👌
