Brave, Brave, Brave, Brave Sir Robin...
Funny how everyone LARPs, but you can't take the southern preacher out of an Elf from the South. LMAO
I loved it. A nice mix of interviews and in play footage. Excellent editing and everything. The garb of the characters was on point. I didn't see any of the tacky nike shoes etc that plague the reenactment/larping events. Claire's scale mail and plate with her elf ears were very cool.
Every time I socialize with other humans I'm LARPING......
I love Larp so much that I sometimes rewatch the video
This is no different then my everyday life. Sitting around with goofballs, eating bad food, trying to herd cats, arguing about shit that isn't real, doing something for someone else, just to have another goofball wreck it, staying in character, etc. EVERY F****ING DAY
At around 3:20 the men chatting around the fire reminded me of a similar chat at my larp... it was my first time there. I didn’t understand any of the politics of the game much and they were talking about the politics of the world... just a funny thing I remember
Ahh this was awesome! And really solid editing- love all the little effects you did with the text, where you integrated it into the shots, like 3:44 and 7:10.
I really wish you had more videos lol I love the footage you've captured here.
yep.....this went from great to epic once you added Sir Robin's theam.
Goo camera work too! Thanks for the nice steady shots.
Great documentary! I wish the channel had other videos!
This was cool. I'd love to see more in the same style.
ha, best part was the holly grail sir roben music at the end lol. looks like a good group of people and a fun larp.
I'm in South Carolina. Not far from Lands of Exile. Hoping to come to them sometime in the future after my roommate and I visit Shards of Orn.
Great doc! Well done
Good job, thank you.
would love to get you guys up to mount airy for some design input and development ideas from you guys
wait, this is a new docu? (I only realized when she was mentioning the movies) lol, definitely enough music for now sir robin.
Haha yeah, very recent. We finished shooting a few weeks ago.
i live in south dakota and there might be one larp area near by. which is far and costs around $30 or more depending on the date. i hope some one could start one here in rapid because it is really boring and not much to do than living here.
Everyone a gangster until it's time to murdify the PCs
Cool gear :)
Very interesting piece.
Awesome :)
I think larping is really cool and fun. but imagine if you had larpers who actually knew what they were doing. it looks like they are just thwacking each other without technique. if most of them knew actual sword techniques and applied them to a battle(probably easier said than done) it would make it look a lot more professional and an overall better and more intense experience for most participants
Look at some European Larps Such as Krigslive or Warlarp in english
I shouldn't have to learn a real martial art to play a game and participate in my hobby. The combat is set up so that almost anyone can participate and have the same fun. LARP is more about the role play, the social interactions between the characters than it is trying to emulate real combat. :)
Victus Larper relax, it's just an idea. it *would* feel nicer if people knew what they were doing, not flailing wildly with a weapon. I can't count how many times I've had to deal with killing another player using just a shield because they're flailing. it's satisfying when weapons connect with a hit, even for just a split second ;)
I apologize for my brash reaction. I agree, that less "fairy waving" would be nice. I would suggest that the more experienced LARPers step up and help in teaching better or some kind of technique. In fact it could make for great role play as well to help teach other characters rather than just players. :)
I've actually been to this LARP. What's fun is that there are a good number of players now that actually do know some form of real fighting technique. Really does make the game pretty intense but still fun.
10:37 hell yeah, who else is a python?
When you have two characters you want to play as but can't choose either one over the other and want to play both at the same time but the characters can't be combined.
What country was this filmed in
AustralianLARP And archery usa, nc
Um... North Carolina USA. Land of Exile is about 2 hrs from me if that.
at 0:26 did she say "the half widow?" If she did....what is a "half widow?"
A year late, but she probably said "the half wood-elf".
eyeglasses were a thing back in ol yonder times
nice place good food ,I in,,,,
Bunching up like that they could be taken out with a few lightning bolts…
Just grow a real beard
Sad. Pathetic.
