The damage has already been caused. Lesson: We must be very careful in our utterances during preaching. Avoid emotionalism, avoid wrong comparison. Pray over the sermon before delivery and always magnify Jesus Christ and Christianity in your sermon. Every message must have Christ and Christianity as the main or central idea. God bless us all... Only few men of the stature of Reverend Eastwood will recant their positions when they realise they have erred. Lots of respect to him and I pray the Lord in his manifold mercies will bring to the fold those whose faith have been affected.
He did NOT recant. Please don't fool yourself. There was no Godly sorrow in what he did. All he did was simply yelling some Biblical facts...no admission and apology that he was wrong
We must be concerned about some of these issues. It's very sad and highly unfortunate from a man of God of such caliber. We need great grace behind the pulpit. There was no correction here. Did he say his earlier statement was wrong? Did he apologise for the statement? Is he too big to apologise?
The man of God is humble enough to correct his mistakes publicly unlike other pastors and apostles in Nigeria who lack this humbleness to admit their public statements were wrong, being contrary to Scripture and sound doctrine, rather they double down and twist their heresies even more, to their own shame.

The seriousness with the word is declining. Some pastors are not circumspect with their speech anymore. And this is partly because they have no one to hold them accountable, especially when they are the founders. How can this mess be repaired?

I think he should use a month or even 3 months to preach salvation. For the first video to go viral means a lot of people are listening to him even non Christians. So 30 sec. Damage control is not enough
I wish I could see the full length of his correction. because really, he spent so much time doing the damage he did to Christianity…. God help us …. Preaching Jesus as simple as Jesus Himself… The sensationalism on our pulpits is becoming one too many. I agree we should share this anyway and pray for the Holy Spirit to convict people…
The desperation to bring new revelations or sound different is making alot of men of God misfire thereby causing alot of baby Christians fall out completely and confused the unbeliever intending to be converted change their mind to remain where they are.we need to be very careful and wisdom this days

The advice is to be watchful on what we share behind the pulpit. And I appreciate how you even used this opportunity to preach the Gospel and clarify the means by which we must saved.
Salvation has never and will never be by works. It's only through Jesus Salvation is made available to men.

Eastwood Anaba has been humbled! People have knowledge nowadays and will point out error !!
A friend of mine sent this to me and i had to tell mi to pay attention to what the pastor was driving and i had to give him eg like if a sect of people are praying 5time to a grass, honor that grass and submit their wills to it, will it make any difference to the real God 😂 but he couldn't listen, pastors really need to be careful for what they make as examples...God has demonstrated his love for us and there's evidence of the unseen through christ jesus...

When Christian pastors preach error and some of us use the Bible to point out their error you'll see other christians attacking us saying we're judging the pastors. Meanwhile see the amount of damage such wrong teachings cause to souls. I'm very sad. God bless you for your work in Christ.

I knew the man needed prayers to return to the right part but at the same time we Christians must wake up from our slumber, we must not make people to be filled with dis couragement by our conduct and life style.Jesus is coming for a church without spot, wrinkle ,blemish or any such thing.

His damage control holds no water. He says God would be unfair if he sends diligent moslems to hell. Note that the so called “diligent moslems” do not accept that Christ Jesus is the only way to the father. So my question is would diligent moslems go to heaven or hell in spite of their diligence?

It is very important for ministers of the gospel to carefully choose their words before speaking, especially when discussing matters concerning the children of the kingdom and the children of the world.
Comparing Christians to Muslims, or any other religion, is not only disgusting and disgusting but also disrespectful to the body of Christ. Because any other religion outside Christianity is peganism no matter what they say to you.

This video TITLE is VERY misleading. There was no recantation. He never apologised for the wrong statement nor did he say "I WAS WRONG". Reaffirming some biblical facts doesnt mean he has recanted, unless the meaning of "recant" has changed.

Thank you for highlighting the heretical statement Pastor Anaba made and calling on him to be "circumspect in his utterance". Would you please do the same with Pastor Dag Heward-Mills for calling God a "DIVORCEE" and questioning when POLYGAMY became a sin? Similar to how Muslims have reacted to this Eastwood error, did you see how people, including so-called Pastors, used his utterances in that heretical sermon to justify polygamy? But instead of correcting him, you made excuses for him and that was very disappointing. Please do the right thing; as you said, the message is more important than the man and I completely agree with you.

It must be said that the preacher, and indeed most of us christians do not know what Christianity is about.
I don't think he should be excused. If he knew that Christianity grants access to the abundant life of God, infusing strength into the believer for the purposes of displacing Satan, the strong man, and enthroning the Lord Jesus upon every soul, home, community and indeed the whole earth, which is no small task and which the christian church is hardly engaged in, he wouldn't express his frustrations about the carelessness of christians and the seeming cheapness of Christianity born out of ignorance by making the enslaved seem privileged.
Christianity is not about making heaven, it's about glorifying God on the earth!

There's always remedy. You are not God. Believers are not graceful at all. Please...share the recant and stop all this. Do you know how much pressure it takes to lead people who never get it. Do you see how it affected Moses in Numbers 20. Do you know how many biblical fathers faulted , yet when they repented God forgave them. Did Peter and Paul not falter. Pastor Gideon, as a Christian from Islamic background, these utterances are not limited to Pastor East Wood alone, there are several pastors who have made such unguarded, irresponsible and untrue statements about Christianity.
Pastors that are supposed to promote the faith and speak in dignified manner.
When a Pastor says "Ghana is majority Christian but corruption is everywhere"
What's is he implying? Blaming Christianity for corruption?
How will non believers interpret this?
When critically assessed Christians are one of the most devoted ppl to their faith, paying tithe to fatten the pockets of these pastors no be beans. You need mountain of faith to do this. Muslims don't give 0.0001% of monetary wealth Christians give to support their faith.
Islam by its definition is extremely antagonist to Christianity,denies the fundamental believe of Christianity like the crucifixion and resurrection and denies the deity of Christianity.
How a pastor will use that religion to shade Christianity in any form is lost on me.

There's a way the situation can be stretched to doubt his salvation. But from the evidence available so far, I'll say it's safer to doubt his recantation. There's no godly sorrow, no discipline, no apologies. All I see is some pompous yelling of Biblical facts. Muslims will be 😅 at his damage control.

Belivers must know the wird if God for themselves and not gulp anything from the pulpit else you'll one day laughing at the wrong side of your mouth.
This is s tricky subject. Fact one: Jesus is the ONLY way. However, Jesus said in Mark 16:15 that he that believeth (in Him Christ) shall be saved and he that believeth not shall be damned.
Question: What is to believe?
Fact 2: Jesus said he that "believeth" not he that agrees with religion or attends church.
Thoughts: Some muslims in their search for the truth see the light and believe but some haven't overcome the fear of what'd happen to them if they stopped appearing at mosques. The fact that they believed in Christ and asked for mercy is enough according to the Bible. The church doesn't take anyone to heaven.
Final thoughts: Only Jesus can save. And he saves to the uttermost whosoever believes irrespective of where they are.
