    Awesome blackbird tail peace 👌 great idea I've always wanted and early cbr900rr

    • @counter-steer
      @counter-steer  4 года назад

      Thanks Brett! Yeah the rear portion of the early blackbird's under-tail is pretty close to the 1st Gen blade. Same width and reflectors etc.
      Go for it! Pretty soon the 1st Gen CBR's will be few and far between...

    That fender rebuild is a true work of art….! Those in original form are “Nonexistent” or you have to finance them….

      Thank you sir! Yeah I'm really glad the blackbird part had the exact same specs... wasn't so lucky with the RC51 but made one none the less.

      I'd love to know more about the fender modification, was the blackbird one a good fit, much filler needed? I reckon that is worth a video all by itself

      Cool I’m going to go through and watch them all. I’m a big fan of 90’s sportbikes I own a few and work on a lot of them.

      Awesome, congrats! I leaned heavily on CMSNL... that being said they're not cheap. Also ebay and David Silver spares and the usual suspects.

    Just got a 94 a couple days ago I’ve got a long road ahead of me as well, mine sat outside getting rained on for years so some parts are way more corroded.
    I hope the motor is good I am about to go through it and see if I can get it running pulled the carbs in a couple valves on the left side had rust on them

    • @counter-steer
      @counter-steer  3 года назад

      ... and so it begins! Corrosion’s a b&tch, dealing with the same problem on a new build myself.

    Hi, great motorcycle. Congratulations for the result. The stock exhaust looks great. What kind of paint did you use to give it that black gloss finish?

    • @counter-steer
      @counter-steer  2 года назад

      Thanks man! I don’t recall the exact brand but just used proper heat resistant gloss black paint. It took a LOT of coats though… I would honestly recommend Powdercoating

    HI, Could you please let us know what material you chose to use for the seat reupholster? I have to do the same job on my 98 blade. Fantastic job on everything btw :)

      Thanks man! I used marine grade fake leather... here’s the full description “VViViD Black Weatherproof Faux Leather Finish Marine Vinyl “

      Marine Grade sounds ideal! Thanks for the reply.

    Really nice! What jets you used for the original exhaust? Mine has a dynojet kit and a sport exhaust. I want to go back to stock.

    • @counter-steer
      @counter-steer  4 года назад +1

      Thanks Stefan! After some research I went with 40 on the pilot and 120 on the main... EBC Keihin style.

      Thanks! Mine has the same colour scheme as yours. It has 120.000kms, it has some little damage spots but nothing major. Slowly making it stock.

    Hi, about to attempt to make a Blackbird under tail and my 900rr cut tail into 1 nice OEM appearing piece, any tips you can give me?

    • @counter-steer
      @counter-steer  2 года назад

      Right on! Only tip would be to get paint that looks like the original plastic. Painted mine twice and still not happy with the finish…

    • @sully1time
      @sully1time 2 года назад

      @@counter-steer yeah i have a feeling thats gonna be the hard part, when you cut the piece off the Blackbird under tail did you cut more than you needed and cut back as necessary?

    • @counter-steer
      @counter-steer  2 года назад

      Nope, measured twice and cut once ;) There’s a bit of room for error when you’re plastic welding so all good…

    • @counter-steer
      @counter-steer  4 года назад

      Hey, there's a couple of great resources out there... CMSNL is the best all round site I've found and has great info and diagrams of every bike imaginable. Customer service is also pretty great. There's also Boonstra, PartsNmore etc for used bits and of course fleabay ;p
