When I first watched the mv, I thought it was about climate change and how we humans were destroying our own 'magic island', and in the end we ask whose fault was it, trying to blame on others when in fact it was us which caused it. But I liked your theory about puberty too.
Interesting interpretation. Like all good art, it can mean different things to different people.
Maybe it can be the fault of the dragon?
Did you notice that when they are getting hit by the train they start to "feel pain" and grab the same body parts where they had "deformities" during the nap of the star mv? Like, Soobin touch his ear, Beomgyu his shoulder, etc
I believe that is where they developed their insecurities
hence they try to hide it later

This is a really interesting MV. There are a lot of unanswered details. The glimpse of what looks likes a girl/woman's skirt/legs in the forest. The train has a blue and green light just like the cat's eyes in Nap of a Star. The lyrics even talk about 'the cat with mismatched eyes'. Soobin talks about strange dreams and deletes the text before he sends it. Did he dream this would happen? Like you said, why did it take so long for the forest to catch fire and for them to notice it. The last few text lines raise more questions as well. Very intriguing

3:45 its because its loud to talk in train and people can usually hear you. Thats why most people well if they are young they text rather than making a ruckus in train.
Ttukseom was mentioned in BTS' debut song btw. It's a place where Namjoon goes when he wants to clear his mind.

Not only the jumping thing but also yeonjuns backpack which has "this is never that" written on it, just like jungkooks shirt did in the save me mv. Honestly, this confused me the most and my MOA/Army brain couldn't handle, so thank you for explaining😂

Magical Island has strong Chronicles of Narnia vibes (book series by C.S Lewis) in Chronicles of Narnia the siblings are magically transported to Narnia, where they are sometimes called upon by the lion Aslan to protect Narnia from evil. When pulled into the magical land of Narnia time is different, animals talk and magical creatures exist. The siblings aged and reigned as Kings and Queens in Narnia for around 50 years but when they return to the "real world" they discovered only a few minutes had passed and they returned as youth and struggled to come of age again having already come of age in Narnia. Throughout their youth and the series they would be called on again and again (magically being transported to Narnia) when Narnia needed them. However, once the siblings lost their innocence Narnia wouldn't call them back. This is where I think TxT is headed with their concept.
I witnessed multiple times in Korean metro that people message each other while sitting together since talking is frowned upon so I have seen nothing weird with it.
I do raise another theory - what we are seeing as +U so far are symbolic reflections of an actual story but told by different people in various ways. Something like shadows on Plato's cave. And that sns concept reminds me of aus.

There are connections to this Forrest in nap of a dream MV, *maybe that’s one of the weird dreams he’s been having and the Forrest is in multiple dreams he has*
I think the MV is not a dream. "Magic Island" seems to take place before "Run Away" and after "Nap Of A Star". I'm surprised there was no mention about "Nap of a Star" MV in this theory video because it's TU certified and connected (released earlier in June). Or has DKDKTV not seen NOAS yet?
There might be something you got right with this explanation. There is surely something about growing up but I read other theories that connect with bts (the dragon:make it right MV), and with txt's previous video nap of a star aswell... I think it's more of a story, like bts' with a beginning and end, than just the story of hitting puberty. I recommend Magic Island MV's Theory by "bookishtheories". I think that is more of an accurate explanation because it picks up every detail in the MV, instead this explanation is very general and vague I think. If you watch that video, you might be able to pick up more in the next txt universe video...

Hi Danny. I think it's important to notice that Run Away is not officially part of the TXT Universe. The only MVs that are until now are Nap of a Star and Magic Island. But that doesn't mean that Run Away isn't connect to it. I think that the same way that Crown's lyrics and it's short animation (that aired on the Korean TV before their debut stage) are linked with the Nap of a Star MV, Run Away is linked to Magic Island's (we can see many other parallels between both MVs even though Run Away is not part of the TU, like Yeonjun hurting his hand, the boys playing with fireworks and causing a fire, the fire being seeing through Yeonjun's eyes/glasses, even the forest of the magic island itself)
It is also interesting to notice that the whole sequence of them being transported from the subway to the "secret island" (magic island) is described in the Run Away lyrics. Ttkuseom station actually is the 10th station on Seoul Subway Line 2 and we see the boys counting and closing their eyes when the train was almost arriving at the "tenth platform" - so we can say it was passing the hidden 9 and 3/4 platform when it happened.
In the Run Away lyrics, we have: "We gotta be together to get to the hidden 9 3/4. Bibbidi bobbidi the train is departing. Bibbidi bobbidi our magic island. When we go past this tunnel. When we open our eyes. Our dreams become reality (...) if you and I are together, we can run across the sky." All of this is shown in that sequence. The train passing a tunnel, the boys opening their eyes and they running across the sky.
It was established in the Nap of a Star MV that Yeonjun is the first of the boys going through the pains of growing up, so I think that's why he always seems to be physically hurt on the MVs. Each of the boys can symbolize one aspect of teenagers feelings/aspects if we take the texts of the teasers into account: Soobin is the insecurity - thinking he is the only one that's different, living in fear of the nightmares, Beomgyu is the defiance, the will to break rules (New Rules), Yeonjun is the pains of growing up, the one afraid of being judged by others (and it's ironic to see that he is not behaving well, stealing the man's candles and matches for example), Kai is the innocence and I'm still a little confused about Taehyun's role.
We also have the boys' antagonist being represented by the cat with odd eyes. Maybe it represents the boys' fears, maybe it somehow represents some kind of punishment they received for misbehaving, it still not totally clear (Yeonjun running away from home in Nap of a Star and they starting the fire in Magic Island). In the Magic Island MV the cat took the form of the train that "hits" the boy at the end, bringing suffering and pain to them (we can see that when it first appeared, it's headlights were the same colors as the cat's eyes, blue and green - the cat is also mentioned in the lyrics of the song as something the boys are tired of).
About the "ghost", some people are saying that it is actually the star, trying to contact the boys since they are still apart from each other and she is the one asking the boys to remember its name. Since the Nap of a Star MV I think that the star can represent MOA as a whole. Also, while the odd eye cat can represent all the fears and the bad side of growing up, the star/ghost/girl can represent the good side of the process, the dreams and hopes the boys have and what they are trying to achieve as they grow. They just have to remember that, as the lyrics of Magic Island repeat over and over again. They have to remember and protect their dream to ensure a good future for them.
Now we'll just have to wait for the next part of this story because right now trying to decipher it is like guessing at the end of a book having read only until the second chapter. xD
@Lauren C Oh yeah, I saw it with the figurines xD. I did some research, the genetic trait that makes some cats have eyes of two different colors is more common in pure white cats. Meanwhile, the black cat is often described in many civilizations folklore and superstition as a bad omen or a bad thing. We'll have to wait to see if TXT's black cat and BTS' white one are connected somehow.

Guys, I was listening to reflection just now... In that RM says that he goes to ttuekseom whenever he feels sad.. and he talks about going to other world.. and says people get more happy during dark... I just couldn't help but wonder if this is just a coincidence... I am still not over Wings era... and now TXT is confusing me... sigh...
I kinda looked back at the video myself and here is what I think of it: It’s probably giving the message “have fun while you got the chance, but be careful while so”.
In the beginning Soobin discusses his haunting dreams but the rest of the members decide to shake it off. They then discuss going to this island to have fun and enjoy themselves, which resembles most teens/kids today having fun today. However, Soobin and Yeonjun notice these sounds but the rest of the squad just continues to have fun. Soobin and Yeonjun continue to have fun with them, which could resemble peer pressure. Then, Beomgyu accidentally throws fire into the forest, causing the forest fire. This and the train resemble the consequences of poor decisions. When it says “Remember my name” or whatever it says, it could have resembled the good intentions that they were suppose to make.
Where am I getting this you may ask?
Many people I know at school vape and sometimes, drink. All they really meant to do is step onto the “Magic Island” of having fun as a teen. However, there is this one girl I know who opened up to me and her friend about how she got a lung infection from vaping.
No one needs to agree with me but that is how I interpret the video.

Personally I think that this music video is showing how the boys originally met. They all went to Magic Island for different reasons but ended up becoming friends and burning it down. Because they burned down the forest, they ended up being punished (getting their mutations) and then the story leads to Nap of a Star > Run Away. I have a whole theory thread on twitter ksjsbsbb
Did you see Nap of a star? the first story of TU(TXT UNIVERSE) is Nap of a star then Magic Island and the member said it was part of a long story
It is so rewarding that Variety pointed out that #BTS was the first to create a storyline across multiple albums and through multiple medias and only now are people doing this as a regular part of their marketing strategy. It makes me angry that US media look at these things like Easter eggs in albums as innovation and Simon Cowell having the audacity to think British pop groups would be the same as KPop when he knows nothing about what makes KPop a commodity for Korea and not just a group of talented singers that hale a certain flag making music.

There's three Choi in TXT. Idk if it's true though cause I'm stupid at this kind of stuffs lmao
I think this music video might be inspired by the book "Lord of the flies". There are quite a few similarities in the story and the message also fits them but I'm not sure.
I also think bts and txt universe are connected.
