This is fantastic scent content. Perfect breakdown of what we're all looking for when talking about scents we love and exploring where we would go from there.
I just realized that this video format is exactly what I have been looking for! This kind of structure is exactly how I try to introduce friends to the topic and how I would like to be guided into a new genre or another unexplored corner of that genre I already love. I hope you don't exclusively cover bestsellers, but keep the middle ground between what the mainstream would like and us, who already did a relatively deep dive. You see I've been enjoying Dior Homme Intense so very much, that I would love to hear your recommendations on where to go from here without the usual suspects like Givenchy Gentleman EdP or Valentino Uomo Intense. Anyway, thanks a lot for the great content!
We complain so often about linear fragrances, but oftentimes even the reviews about them are complainably linear. This kind of review, a multifaceted, aldehydic style of reviewing fragrances really sets the bar higher on how one is to think about fragrances. The sense of smell, and our reaction to it, is a spectrum, an ever changing terrain. And too often, like our proverbial Crazy Uncle, they never get out of the box. They are either always loved or always dismissed. This is the chance to smell them all again and partner them in ways we might not have thought of before. Again, brilliant job! I look forward to them all in this series! I hope others catch on- it's the kind of review I've been waiting for.
George I really like this kind of videos Unique Creative It's a lot of thinking and Scent profiles knowledge I kind want to see who has the courage to fallow this concept I think it's a no brainers concept a natural flow of thinking process people usually have to do before purchasing a fragrance and whit this kind of videos you helping a lots of viewers make the right decision in their next fragrance buy WELL DONE!!!!
the perfume parlour only man is bang on. i bought it first, liked it and got the one EDP after and there both exactly the same in smell and performance
This a great video & and great ideal ! Hope you do more of this, from your video I can really make smart choices and get so much useful info. Thank you I am on the bench right now for Herod and the new formulation, I just can't find anythign so similiar (not the cheaper clones) and was told D&G the one EDP is simliar ?
Hey George greetings from Puerto Rico just have to say great video another video that is just amazing, educative, explain very good for those like me that are starting on this hole new world of perfumes. Really one of my favorite you tuber love that you keep this calm warming comfortable ambient that brings peace.
Man you really gave me some heavy conviction about clones in your video on the stairs, talking about armaf and all of that. You legitimately put me in a spot where I want to buy from companies who do the work vs clone companies. I say all that to say these videos are perfect for me, it gives me options without compromising my integrity as a fan. Just wanted to throw my opinion out there for you. Bless you brother!
Like heavens sended you from their grace to us, blessed be this men and the people who follow you. The one edp just doesn work on my skin, was thinking today about finding some nice alternatives
Incredible. Just last night I searched this EXACT question. I LOVE The one EDP and want more like it. I can't believe this timing. Would definitely like more in this series.
This new series or concept is really amazing and well thought of. I have to say this is bloody brilliant; 2/2 since it came out. Keep em coming George!
Great video and very interesting take on the one!!! Your becoming the professer of frag world George, loving your insight and knowledge, keep it going mate👍🙏🏴
Love the format you have in this for recommending alternatives based on a different criteria e.g clone, twist, sibling, further and wildcard. Really excellent way to review and informing for end user as we tend to think this way when looking for alternatives to fragrances we love.
i’ve never smelled the one but imo jazz club is the smoothest combo of rum and a cigar i’ve smelled. lasts 7 hours for me but i but subdued in projection.
So glad someone else uses the pencil-shavings comparison for harsh iris - Valentino Uomo Intense opening smells like you just dumped out your sharpener.
Great new series George very thoughtful. A lot of videos were getting predictable and monotonous in fragcomm. This is a new idea I quite like. Keep them coming. 👍
The One EDP is my absolute favorite fragrance, but alas, it lasts less than 30 minutes on me. Thanks a lot for this video George, I'll be trying all of these soon.
I got a may 2020 batch bottle and it lasts 8 hours. 2-3 hours of projection. I tested it on my brother around the house too. Only 2 sprays on the arm and it was projecting for 1-2 hours. Drydown is an awesome dry tobacco smell
Another fantastic episode. I've never tried any of these fragrances (other than Enigma👌🏼), but they're all on my "try soon" list. Enigma, or Creation-E as my decant is labeled, if fantastic. One of the, if not the, best scents I've smelt. Which is why I really hope you do one of these on it.
I hit the testers last week and Givenchy Gentlemen EDP Boisee as with others in the Gentlemen collection seems to really like my skin or vice versa, excellent longevity, gonna have to get a big bottle. The Maison Margiela Jazz Club, I was most excited to test this fragrance and I did like it as a further adventure but the longevity was not good for me at all, less than half hour really (it was hot day though) Million Prive is a bit too hard to find these days. However on a different note from another video I have been rocking All Saints Sunset Riot - that fragrance is outrageous! Gives me the same feel good factor I get from The One EDP.
Great video as always... I love your 4b in this list... 1270 is just wonderful juice and doesn't get many mentions now days... Also you may want to get your nose on Bass Solo by The Vagabond Prince... I think you will like what Bertrand Duchaufour created and it still has a 'The One' feel to it to me... Enjoy...
Love the series, man. Always good ideas and beautiful cinematography. Particularly loved the 10 places 10 scents video and was a bit disappointed more reviewers didn't do more of their own
I am definitely enjoying this series of videos. I agree with you that1 Million Prive is a good comparison to The One EDP. The citrus at the opening of The One is where they are the most different to my nose. Once The One dries down a bit, they are similar. I’m a big fan of 1 Million Prive, wore it today in fact. It reminds me of the way a Cracker Barrel store smells when you first walk in. I also think you could lump in Armani Code Profumo with these as well, except the Armani has quite a bit more performance but has a similar scent profile. Calvin Klein Euphoria Intense also comes to mind. Anyway, great video!
I have the one Edp and to me it’s a safe fragrance. You can grab it, put it on and it will match any occasion really. I think that’s it’s biggest plus and weakness. 2nd being longevity on my skin, it doesn’t last on my skin long at all.
@@jaybrick8973 These days just 4 around the house. If I'm going out then 7. 4 on the wrists 3 on the neck. Also for me the opening is only about 30 mins then its tobacco all the way, those fresh bright opening notes dont last long
Excellent thinking George. With so many options, this series will be a great tool not only for beginners but for frag-heads with 10 years of experience. Looking forward to see many more. Gracias Amigo!
As usual I loved the video George. I’ve said this before, but it’s nice to see a lovely chap such as yourself give props to Gentleman Boisee. I personally feel that that particular fragrance didn’t get the accolades it deserved when it was released. The fact that someone with the intelligence and taste that you have likes the fragrance makes me love it even more. Anyway, killer content as always m8. Cheers. 🍻
Love the series, George. Sometimes, some fragrances that are tested give the feeling of "hmm very good, but still not quite what I wanted". And these suggestions are ideal for these situations. Personally, I like D&G the one, but something was missing. Jazz Club and Roja Enigma fill up this void (chill / elegant occasions), just as you suggested in your video too! Gotta try the Frapin 1270. Keep up the good work.
I usually only pickup DUA clones of discontinued or uber-exclusive/expensive scents (e.g., Creed Green Valley, Davidoff Good Life, Tom Ford Amber Absolute, etc.) but ordered a bottle of DUA Wahid back in 2015 (prior to The One EDP) and it was a great copy with moderate projection that lasted a honest 7+ hours. The EDP was an improvement over the EDT, but not by that much. I usually layer the DUA with the the EDP or EDT and they're terrific together. Sadly, Wahid was completely removed from the DUA website in 2016 as though it never existed. Shame, because I would buy another bottle. Okay, I'm not really a fan of the "others" you mentioned for their giving me a similar experience to The One. Instead, I highly suggest people try-out The One flankers they've been releasing in recent years. I have The One EDT, The One Collector, The One EDP, The One Grey, The One Intense, The One Mysterious Night and The One Royal Night. With exception of Grey, they all provide me with a The One feeling, but yet are unique in their own right. Still, enjoyed your take on the alternatives. Cheers! P.S. Visit your parents! I visit my 83 year old mom (aka mum to you blokes) as often as possible.

i bought The One EDP just because it was hyped to death. The truth is that i'm not really a fan of The One. The 5 fragrances you listed are all better!
I bought it also because of the Hype and I wanted something different from all the blue fragrances I have but I prefer the dry down more than the opening that's jus my opinion though
When you said 'wildcard' I haven't expected it be this wild. I like this format, short informative videos and you keep trying to catch the perfumes vibe from different angles. Keep up the great work. Also, aren't you a little bit afraid of heat from the candle near your precious juice? I don't know if it's hot enough to spoil it, I'm just seriously asking.
The One is a good scent but it’s performance is woeful. I feel robbed I spent what I did for a scent that literally last a couple of hours......stay away from it is my advice. I have the eau de parfum by the way.
I couldn't even tell if I liked it because all I sensed was a mild note of amber that barely projected and lasted weakly for all of 90 minutes. I bought it from a major dept. store and had to return it. I even emailed D&G/Shisiedo asking them if they wanted to test it but they told me to just return it. It was a Feb. 2020 batch and it shouldn't even have been classified aftershave strength. There's no way there's enough fragance oil in there for an edp classification.
Thanks for this. I love the scent of D&C, but hardly wear it anymore because of it's shitty performance. I've been wanting something that is somewhat similar to it, but actually friggen lasts.
This is fantastic scent content. Perfect breakdown of what we're all looking for when talking about scents we love and exploring where we would go from there.

You should make this into a service/ website. Where you enter a fragrance you like or what notes you like and it gives recommendations...
I greatly appreciate this content. I’m not great with the notes, so this gives me a better understanding. 👍🏾
Never fear George, pencils don't utilize lead, they use graphite.
