Whew! I just bought this for my son's 26th birthday coming up, and now I can tell him it comes with ATH's seal of approval (he trusts you).😁I'd gotten him Chanel Allure Homme last Christmas, but it may be a bit mature for him. He is a Tobacco Vanille lover, and I agree that someone who enjoys that scent will also most likely appreciate this One.
I’ve never heard this fragrance described as long lasting with good projection before.
Because people just parrot what other people say. In my experience this has pretty solid performance
@@MrMelonMan96 100% agree. I never quite understood what everyone else was complaining about. My personal experinece with its performance has always been solid to good. I have also smelled other people wearing it and, while it is subtle, it is definitely noticeable. I'd say its performance perfectly matches the style of fragrance that it is.
From experience with my 2023 batch, I get 8 hours at least

It's the complete definition of a skin scent. Absolutely ZERO projection.
To me, The One Edp has the best looking bottle of everything i have seen, simple but so classy. That in combination with the color of the juice and the gradient , it is perfect. So satisfying and the fragrance smell so good!

Thanks Aaron! Y'know, I've always thought that ATH can sell little discovery sets of whatever raw materials that you have in mind when you suggest that we get our noses on them. I think it's a great idea and I really do want to learn more about this stuff, but I've looked into it, and I simply can't figure out how to jump into that whole thing. Either way, thanks for all you do.
I was JUST thinking this when he said he hopes we're smelling the raw materials and components he always mentions. I don't think I'd have the talent to try perfumery myself, but I'd love to know what all these ingredients smell like on their own. :)

Man after using xerjoffs for a while , I'd be scared to try this again. Had a bottle went through it quickly one of the weakest scents out there for me

@@InspireApon I currently have The One Intense EDP but I’ve read that is a different scent rather than the same as the original EDP but with better/longer projection.
I love this scent as a scent but doesn’t project or last unfortunately

Excellent smell….terrible performance I’ve had a giant bottle of this for 3 years and it’s totally full because after a few hours the smell is gone. :(
for me it's just the opposite. because I have been overspraying trying to get some performance I'm already half way in less than 2 moths lol 😂

Probably the most overrated fragrance I own. Sure, it smells great, but it's gone by the time you leave the house. The performance might actually be worse than YSL LNDL, which is notorious for not lasting.

People are on here crying already. I have never had problems with the edp longevity. It is a masterpiece, but it's just not my style
Yes, this is one of my very favourite frags, I've even got the intense version of it, but this one is by far the superior one, just doesn't last as long as I'd like.
There are so many flankers in the line but I'd like to see it compared to the EDT version

Last about 5 seconds, its why i dont own it. It smell brilliant but just not worth paying for.
I have The One Intense. I'm not sure what's Intense about it but it does smell amazing. Just wish the longevity on my skin last a bit longer. But I travel with it and refresh around the 4 hour mark
I love this fragrance , I bought one and after 2 months I sold it, sadly p/s are very very weak. Its so unfortune, really loved it
It's very weak! I remember testing this with my girlfriend. I just had sprayed like 5 times and she couldn't smell within an arms length 😅

I bought this fragrance online at a discount website - catch of the day I think it was called - and when I got it and sprayed it, I couldn’t smell anything. It was just like ethanol. So I presumed I had been done over.
Then a month later, I happened to be on the Gold Coast and I walked into David Jones and it was on display
so I thought I’ll buy one from a big box retailer and do a test on the assumption the big box retailer is not selling fakes
So I paid through the nose at David Jones got another bottle and I still couldn’t smell anything
All I get is Ethanol
And the other week I went to the dentist. I put heaps of it on and I jokingly said to the assistant. What do you think of of my aftershave
and she sniffed me and said I can’t smell anything.…….!!!
It's a great scent but doesn't last at all. Little to no projection from the beginning. It turns into a skin scent almost immediately. I enjoy your reviews. 👌
Yea, I have it and it's weak juice. You need to spray 8-10 times to get something decent out of it.

Agreed. Not sure why there’s not been a dupe with way more staying power. I don’t think it needs to be a projection monster because the scent profile suits being a little more intimate but it’s hard to justify buying a bottle when it lasts about 5 minutes!

If this cologne was long lasting with a good projection it would be hands down the greatest men's fragrance ever. Seriously, the first time I smelled it was when I was 18 in an airport and I bought it on the spot. 10 years later and its still my favourite.

I know we shouldn’t put to to much stock in other peoples opinions of things but I’m soooo glad Aaron loves this one. It’s my favorite and I’m always trying to find new fragrances that are similar but not redundant.

@@drentar4423 Well yeah, he wanted something similar, so I gave him a fragrance that I use under the same circumstances as The One EDP but nothing close enough scent wise as to be redundant.

Yeah, this one is really amazing, my wife loves smelling it on me, she bought it to me to use it every evening just chilling around here. It's really great, but it def is just a skin scent, projection is really non existing. Now, compared to that, another one that my wife bought me and I absolutely love is Tom Ford - Noir Extreme, if you like The One, Noir Extreme is gonna be up your alley for sure, and it def has better longevity and projection. I wore it (Noir Extreme) to a black / death metal concert, and I could notice ladies turning heads around to figure out source of smell (I guess in a good way?). Made my wife a bit nervous there at that moment a bit, but hey, if you're a guy and wanna smell mysterious - this is or Noir Extreme is the way to go.
Question: I'm wondering (and this is gonna be an experiment to make), if layering Escentric Molecules 01 on top of D&G - The One, would make it last and project a bit longer? Dunno if someone tried that and has experience with it? I guess it would maybe elevate it a bit and project.

Probably the best designer date fragrance. Poor performance but the scent is unbeatable
It smells good, but it is a skin scent immediately upon applying. Zero projection. I felt like i got ripped off.

I was looking for this comment. I can attest that this is a skin scent after few minutes of application. Very disappointing. I also feel ripped off 😢
I blind bought this based on reviews and loved the smell, but I don't know what it was about it, that made me feel sick and gave me an awful headache. I really wanted to wear this but I just couldn't stand it. At least I could confirm that it is VERY long lasting because I could smell it all day long.
Yes, I have it in my collection and agree it's a gorgeous fragrance and very good value as well. My only gripe is that its performance is mediocre.
It is nice but unfortunately, it does not last long.

Beautiful fragrance. But it’s absolutely worthless. The performance is among the worst I’ve ever seen. Don’t buy. Waste of money.
I tried both Edp and Edt and it seemed the EDt was actually better with more projection and the smell was maybe a bit more aromatic

This is one of my favorite fragrances, and never gets boring. I'm still amazed every time i wear it. Will always be in my collection
5:37-5:41 Thank you! Finally someone says exactly my thoughts with this fragrance. I own a 150ml of the edp (and i used all 50ml of the edt). But, it bores me to have it on. The tobacco here is so safe and the scent is so linear that find myself struggling to enjoy this beautiful scent. I do have people tell me that I smell good, so the fragrance does its job, but for me it's just too boring. It's still lovely, so I recommend it for safe buys.

Always interested in why fragrances like these don’t last. It’s beautiful but what in its composition could be changed to increase its longevity?
The new ones 'made in Italy' have acceptable longevity and projection (comparing them to ones 'made in France'), this scent is amazing

I have the original and it is indeed a boring scent after a few minutes.
Once the top notes are burnt out. You are left syick smelling tobacco, and vanilla.
I don't know if it is because I switched to Middle Eastern fragrances, I can't barely and hardly smell it after 3 minutes.

Yes it is available here in the U.S. I cant speak for anywhere else.
The only 'The One' discontinued to my knowledge is Gentleman.

its not long lasting at all, i have been using it for so long, trust me its by far my favorite fragrance but it DOES NOT LAST LONG AT ALL, THATS A CLEAR LIE, I even wore it in winter in office under very controlled temperature it didnt last more than 2 t 3 hours in office, which is ridiculous, i even tried it on clothes didnt workj, i asked by brother to wear it and check its lasting he said the same alongwith so many people...i have a pretty decent collection and i can tell you it's lasting isnt even close to even some of cheapest ones out there, but its fragrance omgg.....takes my breath away ...only reason why i still buy it...
Easily one of my favourites and i rarely have favourites in fragrances. It lasts quite a while, maybe a bit too long for its intended use. (No its not a projection panty dropper beast, its not supposed to be).its a quality scent.

If any of you guys love this fragrance, you'll most likely like jazz club, which is just a touch more bright and tobacco(y). I often layer these two fragrances to help give this fragrance a little lift. Everyone who complains about the performance of this fragrance, just wear more sprays, it's affordable enough to go a little heavier. Love this stuff.
I usually go at least 15 sprays of The One and even this way it doesn’t peform at all! I have some weak fragrances in my collection like YSL La nuit that I love a lot, but even these perfumes has at least something you can call “performance” which is nonexistent in The One.
Hi Aaron, this is one of my all time favs. But I’m surprised about what you said, as this fragrance notoriously has bad performance. 2 hours tops and it’s gone. Unfortunately

No, even the newer batches of the reformulated La nuit perform better than The One.
I think this is one of those fragrances which no middle eastern brand can ever replicate and make a good clone. It's an 10/10 masterpiece fragrance.

I really appreciate the scent but on my skin don’t long lasting that’s for me is 8/10 cause was just 3 or 4 hours. And I’m really care about my skin been hydrated, I feel that is more in the way of imagination, LV.

You already reviewed this before saying it smelled good but was corporate perfumery.
You took down your old video. I get it, you sounded very snobby and pretentious in your old video's, and now you want a job with one of these big perfume companies, so being unlikable won't help you get the job. Especially being that the person who made this fragrance is the in house perfumer for Chanel. Chanel only hires French trained perfumers though.

I like The One EDP, but I find it is very soft. For one or other reason, I tend to wear the EDT more often - I also wear it to the office at times. I would rate the Middle Eastern exclusives higher, though. I find them more interesting - I got myself the Royal Night and the Luminous Night. Apart from those, I also enjoy The One for Men Intense, mostly in colder weather.

I agree, it’s a pretty perfect blend. I do use Ambroxan with it for better performance.
