I'm back from my break from the internet & being creative. I had to have some time to pull myself together. I had a burnout, more than a year ago, and started working again. I had so balance things out, but I'm back!

Tip: Get your micas from a soaping company like Brambleberry or Nurture Soap, you get more choices, better quality for WAY less cost.

Thank you!! I am going to experiment with flortrol and metallic pigment. I also have glow in the dark mica...wonder how that might work! :)

I just want to ask you can I use glue all instead of Floetrol for mixing mica powder?
Are your paints,opaque, or transparent???
Did you use straight floetrol or was anything added to it?

You have to be real careful using mica powders. You don’t want the powder getting into your lungs. It will stay there for the rest of your life. If you have small children, store mica out of reach.
The main risk associated with mica is inhalation. Mica can be dangerous if it is inhaled because the particles can get into the lungs and cause scarring. Thus, any powder or aerosol products containing mica are the most concerning. However, safety concerns generally focus on those who are working with mica in an industrial setting.
Your paintings are beautiful. I was wanting to use mica myself but after researching was having second thoughts. I was wondering if you could achieve such vibrant colors without using the mica?
