These podcasts are the best Knuckles . Best hockey podcasts out there . Im from Bobby’s hometown of Peabody and enjoyed this one very much. Been a hockey fan my whole life and I can honestly say Carpenter’s transformation into an elite defensive forward was one of the most impressive things I’ve seen in the NHL . Especially after the savage knee injury he got at The Forum

It's good to see Chris Knuckles Nilan doing well. I had the same struggles as Chris with certain things. I liked seeing Bobby Carpenter on your podcast chris he hasn't aged. I remember when the Bruins grabbed him, and you. He was coming off a bad knee injury and scored 30 goals that one season.
Knuckles your a legend, its not easy being a mans man these days....never listen to the pussy haters your contribution to my enjoyment of hockey far exceeded most players. Your fierceness and commitment to show up and win was inspiring to me as a young man.
Been watching the NHL for a long time including carpenters career, seen him play many times and never saw an inkling of cockiness from him.in fact he was well mannered didn't bicker with opponents much at all and was a very steady solid two way player .he had some talent but wasn't a big star.but he wasn't a nervous Nelly in important games.very steady solid player
Bobby must have played at least a few games at the big rink on Rte 1. This was a great interview. He followed his passion, now he gives back, and it really shows.
I couldn't think of a better player that I would want on my team to compete in an international series that nyland.chris was the kind of player that just wouldn't quit no matter how overmatched his team was.
Chris nyland was a gutsy bastard.he would fight every player on the bruins in one game and couldn't really beatany of them but he was a tuff fight and lets face it a 21,22 yr old kid from Boston that loved the Bruins and watched four to five guys that each one could arguably beat any player in the league and as a rookie first game vs Boston and he goes right to O'Reilly toughest guy around for 5 yrs and demands a fight,sAme thing with every fight he ever had and I can't remember a bad loss to anyone.he lost but he was always in the fight.would never quit or back down, and never really got beat up that I remember.tuff tuff guy
I'm surprised Carpenter didn't mention John Cunniff when he played for the Bruins and Terry O'Reilly was head coach. I know he played for Cunniff on Team New England and I believe Cunniff liked him so I would be surprised if he didn't try to help him with his relationship with O'Reilly
Great Job Chris. I'm a lifelong Bruins fan a few years younger than you and I grew up right outside of Boston. Those were great games between all of you guys and a great era of hockey. @@thesickpodcastrawknuckles
Wilson is still trying to live down a mortgage fraud felony case that pretty much cost him whatever was left of his reputation, so good luck getting him for an interview.
Solid centerman, solid two way player, and was part of the 85 Devils champs. Had a very good career. Has great stats considering being traded so many times but always contributed to his team's success. The Capitals should have kept him but I guess there were issues within.
I just want to say thank you guys for all these amazing interviews, especially the great players from the 70's and 80's. I loved the NHL back then. I do not watch the Gary Bettman product anymore because I feel he over expanded and deluded the talent back in the early 2000's. I'm sorry, but I much preferred the Canadien players of the past as opposed to watching the Russians and Europeans taking over the league. A few on a team is one thing but now the majority of the players are from far away places and I cannot relate to them at all. I do not believe the Stanley Cup is a big deal to those players. Your show is my only remaining tie to hockey. I think this is a long shot but I want to request an interview with my favorite player...Billy Smith. I know, its a huge long shot...lol
I agree. They “talk it out now”. They’re pussies. How about drop the gloves and decide it. Yes, better athletes but far far less grit. Hockey in 70’s/80’s was better all around
Really want to thank you for the support. And for taking the time to leave your comments. It’s listeners like you who allow us to keep getting better. Please share so we can grow our following!
thank you again.....i have and will continue to spread the word. Tiger Williams would be an awesome guest too...just sayin...lol. There are so many great characters/players from the 70's and 80's.@@thesickpodcastrawknuckles

I always thought it was cool how Bobby didn't miss a single game in his first *five* seasons.
it's not cool, that stuff is incredible
Another Episode, Another Classic Guest... Awesome stuff Fellas.
Great interview guys!
What an awesome interview.
Bobby must have played at least a few games at the big rink on Rte 1. This was a great interview. He followed his passion, now he gives back, and it really shows.
By far best hockey podcast
Definitely the best American player in the era
Tough as nails. Shattered kneecap. Played another 8 seasons after that.
Great Show.

You have to get Jonathan on and also Behn Wilson. I don't know if anyone has interviewed Wilson.
Wilson would be great Knuckles! Maybe Mel Bridgman would be good as well.
Thanks for the suggestions! Jonathan will be coming out very soon and we will definitely try for Behn Wilson

Rick Vaive, 3 straight 50 plus goal seasons, I sure Grapes 🍇 would say, " a Beuaty, eh. Pathetic he is not honored as a Leaf.
American hockey player...Don't remember him
@ba1428 Borje Salming yup I've heard of him. But Bobby Carpenter nope. Never heard until he shows up with Knuckles.

*95 Devils champs 😉
yep...for sure....my bad@@RIUUI007

This is easily the best hockey-related podcast out there. I'm addicted. And getting others there, too!
