    Old 310 sparky here. In the seventies I worked on, taxied, and flue in the right seat of nearly every new CESSNA 310. The first time I heard this Milviz start up on RUclips I just had to have one. I have lots of stories from my days with Cessna. Just a teaser: Nearly every Cessna twin that left Wichita on an eastbound delivery flight had both wing lockers filled with Coors beer. Back then Coors was not sold east of the Mississippi, at least not legally. 😊

    Wow😮 what a great review! Honestly speaking this is the best Cessna 310 review I've seen so far. It is also one of the best I've ever come across in sim flights and I must say kudos to you for work well done! I can't go without mentioning the wonderful scenery of the African jungle which was good for a change. The sight of a 310 landing in a bush airstrip was terrific. Keep up the good work brother!

    I got this recently but it’s mostly been sitting in my hanger while I explored other new planes. But, thinking about it recently, and seeing this fine video I’m going to dust it off and get comfortable with this fine addition to the sim. I’ll have to crank up the sound to appreciate all that sonic detail.

    This has become my top 3 favorite planes to fly. Im doing a cross country trip in usa in this plane starting in florida ending in seattle.this plane responds so well its a blast to fly. Had to practice landing a few times until i got used to it. It drops like a rock just kept power up until i touched down no problems landing after i got used to it. Also love the wear and tear and dirt buildup and cabin temperature features it adds some elements of realism that enhances the experience. I give this plane a 10/10

    • @startrekmike
      @startrekmike 2 года назад +1

      The official planes that come with the purchase of any particular version of FS2020 are all okay for what they are but they tend to have pretty simplified flight and system modeling (for the sake of being a accessible experience for the widest possible number of players). There are also some other third parties that tend to gravitate in that direction (to varying degrees) with Carenado being a reasonable example. Their stuff is high quality for what it is but you are not exactly going to get a full fidelity sim experience.
      Right now, the Just Flight Arrows and Warrior, PMDG's offerings, Wing42's addons, and the Milviz 310 are good examples of more realistic, higher overall fidelity addons that are going to be more appealing to the full simulation experience crowd.

I wrestled somewhat with the altitude vert speed in this aircraft and soon discovered what not to do with failures set on, poor dear gets stressed quit easily. Mark, thanks for the great review paired with an excellent flight through Zimbabwe.
    I had been following the development of the 310R since I first hear about it, and it was an easy day-one purchase once they announced the cost. I had been flying the JF Turbo Arrows almost exclusively since they were released.
    I've only had one flight so far, and so far I love this aircraft. That flight was mostly a learning experience working through the (excellent) checklists, but I had a lovely flight taking off from Huntsville, Alabama and flying south toward Birmingham and Montgomery. I'm really looking forward to spending some flight hours in this one.
    I am also using the Honeycomb Alpha/Bravo and noticed the problem with VS mode that you mentioned at about 15:48.

      @aerofart 2 года назад

      Thanks for comparing to the 414. It’s good to know as I’m torn between the one and the other. I’m leaning toward the 414 at the moment since it features a nice autopilot mode panel which makes it easier to use (and see) when flying VR, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on it due to it being in beta and not knowing whether the remaining quirks will be resolved to my satisfaction. Then again, I’m attracted by the state-aware features of the 310R. Either way, I must say it’s nice to have options!

    • @bluesfool1
      @bluesfool1 2 года назад +1

      @@aerofart the AP is really going to be identical on both. The graphic representation of the 414 is different but under the hood, they’re making it function as the one that’s in the 310 because it just works. It’ll work better with the mods as well wtt for example. The systems modeling on the 310 is superior at the moment. But the 414 is quite a bit bigger, and faster. And the sounds should be as good soon.

    I dont know if you are a pilot in Real Life or not but that 2000ft/min rate of descent would leave everyone with a huge ear pain in a non pressurrized aircraft and is even an extremely unstable approach, once you find yourself that high on the short final, Better go around and join in the traffic pattern for a new and hopefully stable approach!

    By default they go past the white line and into feather without moving them down into the detents on my Bravo. They should stop at the top of the white line and only go past the white line and into the feather position when the levers are in the detent…correct?

    Nice video however I can see that you are not a real pilot! On piston engine airplanes you do not feather the props on shut down!
    That is only done on PT6 powered airplanes. As a real pilot for 50 years plus and time in the real 310R Of only about 500 hours.
    This is a pretty good representation of the C310 R!

    • @SimHangerFS
      @SimHangerFS  2 года назад

      I am an ex ga pilot (some 20+ years ago), not nearly as many hours as you have. Having 500 hours in the C310 must have been awesome. I have 0 hours in twins. I was not actually demonstrating a shut down proc in this video, just pulling my levers on the bravo all the way back. If you watch the video in detail you will notice a number of things you wouldn’t actually do (willingly) in the RW, including a less aggressive descent profile etc. This is a review of the virtual aircraft in sim, nothing more. I appreciate your comment however.
