- This is an up to date Guild Wars 2 guide covering everything you need to know about the Engineer. This video shows off all of the weapons the Engineer can use and looks at all of the individual weapon skills. It also has a look at all of the healing, utility & elite skills the Engineer has at it's disposal. It then goes on to look at the core specializations the Engineer has and what each individual trait does for your character. The video finishes with a short combat demonstration with a basic Engineer build so you can see what it looks like when it all comes together.

This is my first class I'm playing for this and having a great time. Only thing I gotta get use to is the controls. Console player and this is first game I played for PC (Not including LoL because those controls are easy)

Great choice! I love the engineer, it's just so unique 😃 and the charr are the best so you've clearly got great taste 😊 once you get to level 80 you should check out my class guides for the engineers elite specs! The Holosmith is particularly Awesome 😃
@@HeroicFlamingo I'm playing free version now because in Brazil the game is much expensive (almost my rent haha), I hope when it comes to steam it gets cheaper, because steam games here don't have their dollar price, it's cut down.
But I hope I can get dlc soon, mounts look really cool, I'm almost 30 hours spent in this game now hahaha

@@HeroicFlamingo hey there, just got back to this vid after some months because I'm still playing and maining my charrgineer, I love him so :) I got the game on 50% off as I was totally hooked, then I invited my girlfriend to play with me and after a month we were able to get her the game on 50% off too, so 2 for 1 I guess hahaha, now she's with 100+ hours and I'm 450+ hahahahah best game ever, last week I started playing wvw and it's a whole new game. Since i invited my gf I leveled a revenant while she was leveling her necro, then I boosted ele and now I'm leveling a Ranger through lvl up books that I get through wvw/dailies. Many things to do and learn about the game, reaching t3/t4 fractals now and may be starting raid training soon, got myself a full berserker ascended set on a month of time gate :D just sharing my experience and some of my deeds hahahahah
Thx for your videos, nice to see abilities and traits this way, gives some new perspective 1 by one instead of looking at them all in game, I clicked the video to watch knowing that I had watched before and saw that we interacted here in the comments, finally got the game :) its awesome I haven't opened my steam since January
I noticed how you don’t mention you can pick up turrets to decrease the cooldown if you don’t want to detonate them.
I noticed how in these videos he mostly just reads the in game descriptions and often seems surprised how some things works. I can read, I was hoping to get some insight into how the class works!
Hey man great video but as engi i am a bit lost i would like to run only turrets like flamethrower,Healing turet,Flame turret the Rocket turet and Supply crate but i am a bit lost about specialization
Started playing with engineer and after watching this im worried that i bit off a little more than i can chew XD so many abilities!
Stick with it and try out my Engineer leveling build if you need extra help with what skills and weapons to choose ☺️

Just so you know... i'm on Gold league pvp using a vanilla pistol build with scrappers stealth elite. If you build vitality & toughness with cndi dmg. With stealth utilities. Its the ultimate decap / harass build. And well if it isnt you can just run! 😅
the armour looks cool, which set is it?
What is combo finisher? I see some skills have that.
Is the shield a popular weapon?
It does not sound like it has any advantage over an off hand pistol or a rifle.
I hope the next Engineer elite specialization is the Tidesurge!

@@HeroicFlamingo I know this is pretty unlikely but it would ideally have a ranged main-hand shield. If that's not possible, then ranged dual wield axe.

When I can, Ill post my build but in short, I run a condition core engi, dual pistol. I run a mix of Trailblazer and Dire. Do you think Carrion would be better for WvW? Does toughness help enough to have it in my stats? THanks
Sounds like a fun build ☺️ I think you're going to need some power in there to do enough damage. Most condi builds use viper's for pure damage but you might be a bit squishy so if you like being a little more solid, Carrion is a potential with the extra vitality 😊 it depends how you want to play but I just think you need to find a way to integrate some power as the doubling up of vitality and toughness could be a bit overkill for a build that is predominantly damage based 😊
@@HeroicFlamingo Thanks. I do hit people with some nice poison, burning and bleeding ticks. Im going to play with the build to see how much power adds to the damage.
Definitely, the best thing to do is always to try it out and see how you get on ☺️ sometimes you'll be surprised by how much difference something makes when you add it or take it away. It's all trial and error and that's part of the fun ☺️

I really want to get into the Engineer! He's a lot of fun, and his specs look even more interesting.I want something with good defense, without extreme rotations. I dont mind all the skills, I just worry I couldn't keep up. Would there be a good solo build with that in mind?

Got another option? Seems this build has been taken down. I commented cause I like the engineer, feels like I am boba Fett. Saw a leveling build about bombs, but really want to see if there is a good one for pistols and flame thrower. Thank for all your overviews, they have helped my new player ass

how can you raise survivability this is the squishest class i have ever played i absolutly love its concept but it takes so much more effort to stay alive and do damage then any other class
Can you increase max hp in this game?
You can raise your HP by adding more vitality on your weapon and armor stats 😊
You can increase your max hp but, upping your survivability involves more than HP. You want to look at abilities that heal you, dodging attacks with good timing and general kiting strategies
Try thief you'll change your tune!
With so many options are there any skills or abilities that DON'T interact or synergize?
Engineer was designed to be a jack of all trades of sorts. They interact with combos pretty well because of it

It's part of Braham's Wolfblood Outfit from the gem store 😃
@@HeroicFlamingo yeah, i realized that later. Too bad, the helm skin is one of the few medium armor helmet that looks cool with charrs. Masks looks alwful on chars and most medium armor are masks or hats

Guys i am newbie and i try search class in GW2 which one have decent damage,have so much CC and something like Traps and be pain in the ass to kill that class maybe someone can recommend? :D
I'd say perhaps go Guardian and specialise as Dragonhunter when you get to level 80 😃

Is there some kind of Elite Spec that doesnt for e you to go melee?
Although the exclusive weapons of the two Engineer elite specs are melee, you can choose one of them and still use one of the engineer's ranged weapons while enjoying the other benefits of the spec 😃
@@HeroicFlamingo But what If I just dont like any of the Elite specs? I've been looking up and there is a term called "Core Class" that I can use.
Because Imma be honest: I just love grenades and explosives more than holograms and whatever gyros are.
So elite specs are totally optional and you can just use core specializations instead and enjoy all the grenades and mines you want 😃 every class has five core specializations of which you can have three active at any one time 😊
@@HeroicFlamingo I see I see, that is good to know, in the end I choose Ranger because I thought: "If I have to go elite, I at least like the beast fusion one"
But now knowing I dont have to go elite maybe I would have gone Engineer.
