Hassan Ahmed I’ve only known ptx for eight years when they started and I will never leave them , I’m so glad I came across them , all five of them have amazing voices which makes it so hard to believe that it is just them singing and no musical instruments. It feels amazing to be apart of the ptx family and you guys Have been so nice . I’ve seen them in concert like once and it was about a year ago in august I came and saw them in my home town of Maryland at Merriweather and I cried cuz it was my first time seeing them live , I’ve only been able to watch them on RUclips . I also cried when I watched this video . It made me so happy 😁😭

To me this song is a result of a time that you lose someone, and in the beginning you become a ghost of your self (Mitch in the white Shear) but you finally move on, and as you are starting to ask, is it ok to be happy now, and then you finally break through and you allow yourself to be Happy Now, me, myself and I. This is a strong and loving song! Thank you Ha!

Aw, c'mon, Hassan! Seventy seconds ago I knew exactly what I was going to write when the video ended: "Thank you, Hassan, for not apologizing for getting emotional." Then...you apologized. I love everything you said--about the happy times, about our personal journeys with Pentatonix, about these hard times, about the happiness that can come in hard times. This song is so good--it made me cry, and laugh, when I first watched it, and again on second watching, and on my third viewing, which was just now. I was transported to my happy place when I heard this song for the first time. I wanted to share the joy I felt with someone but we are all at home alone. It is emotional to see them together (even if it was back in Sept ‘19). What a stunning visual representation of that moment we’ve all experienced where we thought life was headed in a direction, only to discover an unexpected change was lurking around the corner. (Looking at you COVID-19) The veil of confusion & hurt does slowly, eventually slip off and with it the guilt that might try to linger, allowing us to embrace a new direction, a new adventure, a new relationship, to find color in life again.... and be happy! Is it just me, or is the ending of this song almost exactly like the end of "Little Drummer Boy"? Am I the only one who immediately went there? Love this song! There's always a burden of guilt after a breakup, after a death, even after kids go off to college or friends move far away--a feeling like, "I'm being disloyal if I laugh, or dance, or party, or whatever." But there shouldn't be. It's OK to be happy now, with or without. Three of my favorite moments: (1) the line "Is it illegal to dance like I'm about to?" (2) Mitch spreading his arms in joy at 6:00 (3) Scott playing the drums at 6:18. BTW: I didn't know it was filmed last fall, but it's easy to corroborate: Mitch's mullet. ETA: Hey, Scott telegraphed an Easter egg! He "plays the drums," and the band immediately goes to the "Drummer Boy" ending. No way that was done unconsciously!

This song had an emotional impact on me as well, Hassan. It came out around the time of my mother’s death anniversary and I’ve been feeling very sad and emotional and this song came out and lifted my spirits. It was just what I needed. This song sounds like a break up story, but I remember having these exact emotions when the love of my life was killed in a car accident. Mostly I was devastated and lying in the fetal position in my pajamas even at 4 in the afternoon. But sometimes the sun would come out, and I would go outside and sit by the pool at my apartments and would feel an occasional feeling of pleasure-only to feel extreme guilt at experiencing any positive emotion when the worst thing of my life had happened.This song so brings back those days. But rather than making me feel sad, this song really really makes me feel happy-and I so wanna feel happy now. :)

I know exactly how you felt. I mean I think we all did but I know I certainly did. I mean this year has just been a friggin mess and then some. I have spent the majority of the year depressed, full of anxiety. and not to mention that I got out of a toxic relationship earlier this year. so this song really means a lot to me especially cuz of the lyrics more so than any of their other covers or originals. when I heard it I bawled my eyes out. unfortunately, I didn't get to see them perform this live. I last saw them in 2018 in Houston. but yeah anyways, this song is just so special. and your reaction was so good.

I signed up for their very first engagement in Oakland, CA, on this tour, in June of 1919, I believe, and I'm quite envious of your experience. I don't remember them singing "Happy Now" that night. Maybe they were still working out the kinks, so didn't feature it, or maybe I just wasn't paying attention. The evening was full of small glitches that would be worked out in the first week or two, but were very much there all the same. Whenever they are able to get out on tour again, I think I'll wait for a week or two, and then travel to wherever I need to go to see them again. Their concerts are amazing, and so very much fun! Wouldn't ever want to miss one of them again!
Just looked it up and they debuted Happy Now live during the Oakland show in May 2019. Maybe you took a bathroom break at that time or something? lol not sure. But you would’ve been the first to ever hear the song actually.

Surprised you aren’t listening with headphones, for the full experience. Isn’t this song just wonderful? Personally I love their original work the best.
I have some really solid speakers where the bass is very noticeable, even if it doesn’t always come across that way from my camera. Headphones means no audio when I’m editing and it’s a bit harder to sync things up, just with the way my setup is. But of course, I know the drill about PTX and headphones. I listen with headphones plenty later, which I’ve been doing for this song on repeat for the last couple hours actually haha.
Headphones are not good for reaction videos. I'll try to sum it up as best as I can. If I use headphones, I have the use the audio direct from the music video rather than from my speakers. This is more likely to get copyright flagged. I've been doing this longer than anyone else for PTX reactions, and I can say for the most part I don't seem to have as many copyright issues as some other reactors. I still do. But not as much. That being said, I know how important the sound is and being able to hear the bass, so I have two Apple HomePod speakers which sound fantastic. So rest assured, I'm fully able to appreciate PTX's sound and do my best to avoid copyright issues if possible. Doing my best!
Please don’t take offense. Great reviews, but please work on your sound in these videos. Sounds like mp3 @ 32kbps. See other reaction videos and you’ll see what I mean. Not to be offensive, Just positive criticism. Best!!
No offense taken, but can you clarify? Are you talking about my audio or the music? If it's my audio, I can play with attaching another microphone to my camera and see how that sounds. If it's the music you're referring to, that's on purpose. I include the audio playing from my speakers (which of course sounds better in person than on camera) rather than a direct audio rip from the music video. I've found that doing it this way (I've tried the other way) helps me avoid copyright issues in times where other reactors may sometimes have challenges. I don't need the music to sound perfect for people listening because you should listen to the original song anyways and this is more for my reaction. But if you're referring to my own audio when speaking, that's a different story and I can mess with some other microphones I have. Thanks for the feedback!
Hassan Ahmed I am referring to audio quality of the PTX clip. It is “inferior” quality. And as we are listening, appreciating PTX it would be nice to hear it at higher quality, not so compressed, not so canned. Thanks for your reactions. Just listen to original or other reaction videos, then listen to yours. :-).
The only reason I gave a thumbs down was because I had not seen the video yet nor did I know anything about it other than it was an original. I knew nothing about color being added which is like knowing your Xmas gifts before you open them. I am sorry I had to give the thumb down.

This song had an emotional impact on me as well, Hassan. It came out around the time of my mother’s death anniversary and I’ve been feeling very sad and emotional and this song came out and lifted my spirits. It was just what I needed. This new original song is amazing and it makes me super excited for their upcoming original album. I’ve been playing the song basically on repeat.

I found PTX just after ptx vol 2 came out and I found your reaction videos not long after that, so for me you have always been a part of the PTX journey. This song sounds like a break up story, but I remember having these exact emotions when the love of my life was killed in a car accident. Mostly I was devastated and lying in the fetal position in my pajamas even at 4 in the afternoon. But sometimes the sun would come out, and I would go outside and sit by the pool at my apartments and would feel an occasional feeling of pleasure-only to feel extreme guilt at experiencing any positive emotion when the worst thing of my life had happened.This song so brings back those days. But rather than making me feel sad, this song really really makes me feel happy-and I so wanna feel happy now. :)

I know exactly how you felt. I mean I think we all did but I know I certainly did. I mean this year has just been a friggin mess and then some. I have spent the majority of the year depressed, full of anxiety. and not to mention that I got out of a toxic relationship earlier this year. so this song really means a lot to me especially cuz of the lyrics more so than any of their other covers or originals. when I heard it I bawled my eyes out. unfortunately, I didn't get to see them perform this live. I last saw them in 2018 in Houston. but yeah anyways, this song is just so special. and your reaction was so good.

I signed up for their very first engagement in Oakland, CA, on this tour, in June of 1919, I believe, and I'm quite envious of your experience. I don't remember them singing "Happy Now" that night. Maybe they were still working out the kinks, so didn't feature it, or maybe I just wasn't paying attention. The evening was full of small glitches that would be worked out in the first week or two, but were very much there all the same. Whenever they are able to get out on tour again, I think I'll wait for a week or two, and then travel to wherever I need to go to see them again. Their concerts are amazing, and so very much fun! Wouldn't ever want to miss one of them again!
Just looked it up and they debuted Happy Now live during the Oakland show in May 2019. Maybe you took a bathroom break at that time or something? lol not sure. But you would’ve been the first to ever hear the song actually.
@@TheWorldofHA Now that you mention it, I remember (vaguely) that there was only one song they sang that night that I didn't recognize, and it intrigued the heck out of me at the time, but, you know how it is. They just do song after song and flood you with all those harmonies. That has got to be that one song I didn't recognize. Thanks. You solved the mystery!

I have some really solid speakers where the bass is very noticeable, even if it doesn’t always come across that way from my camera. Headphones means no audio when I’m editing and it’s a bit harder to sync things up, just with the way my setup is. But of course, I know the drill about PTX and headphones. I listen with headphones plenty later, which I’ve been doing for this song on repeat for the last couple hours actually haha.

Where are your headphones dude?? You know better than that with PTX!
Headphones are not good for reaction videos. I'll try to sum it up as best as I can. If I use headphones, I have the use the audio direct from the music video rather than from my speakers. This is more likely to get copyright flagged. I've been doing this longer than anyone else for PTX reactions, and I can say for the most part I don't seem to have as many copyright issues as some other reactors. I still do. But not as much. That being said, I know how important the sound is and being able to hear the bass, so I have two Apple HomePod speakers which sound fantastic. So rest assured, I'm fully able to appreciate PTX's sound and do my best to avoid copyright issues if possible. Doing my best!

No offense taken, but can you clarify? Are you talking about my audio or the music? If it's my audio, I can play with attaching another microphone to my camera and see how that sounds. If it's the music you're referring to, that's on purpose. I include the audio playing from my speakers (which of course sounds better in person than on camera) rather than a direct audio rip from the music video. I've found that doing it this way (I've tried the other way) helps me avoid copyright issues in times where other reactors may sometimes have challenges. I don't need the music to sound perfect for people listening because you should listen to the original song anyways and this is more for my reaction. But if you're referring to my own audio when speaking, that's a different story and I can mess with some other microphones I have. Thanks for the feedback!
Hassan Ahmed I am referring to audio quality of the PTX clip. It is “inferior” quality. And as we are listening, appreciating PTX it would be nice to hear it at higher quality, not so compressed, not so canned. Thanks for your reactions. Just listen to original or other reaction videos, then listen to yours. :-).
The only reason I gave a thumbs down was because I had not seen the video yet nor did I know anything about it other than it was an original. I knew nothing about color being added which is like knowing your Xmas gifts before you open them. I am sorry I had to give the thumb down.
