My parents bought me that watch as a college graduation present in 1986, and I have worn it almost every day since!! Mine has the champagne dial which I think looks the best by far. I have an Omega Speedmaster and a Rolex “Bluesy” Submariner, but I keep going back to wearing this watch. I have a small wrist, so it fits me better, however, the biggest reason I wear, it is for sentimental reasons. By the way, this was the first Rolex watch to have a rotating timing bezel (even before the Submariner), and it was also the first two tone model! It was considered the first watch that could do pretty much everything. It would work as a dress watch, and every day watch, and, because of the rotating timing, bezel, a tool watch.
I’ve had one of these for many years. No problem with fading. If you wore it regularly in a sunny climate I suppose it might fade but this can be rectified on a Rolex service which you would do after 10 years anyway. They do not need to replace the bezel.
I bougth one back in 2006 rose gold black dial with oyster bracelet. Over the years the rose gold has faded and is now just a regular yellow.. anyone also faced this issue?
Have one since 2006, luckily the bezel number marker colour never faded, still looks fresh! However, rose gold has faded and is now just a regular yellow.. anyone also faced this issue?

Hi, how long does the stay light on this watch? I want a rolex with good lume, but really like this watch... Thanks
An OP 41 turn-o-graph in some fun colors would be a killer

One of Rolex's flaws: the fading black color on the TOG bezel. Impossible to restore.
They would have to replace the bezel entirely?
@@Nathan-pp5lj I guess so. And that bezel is crazy expensive.
Thanks Lars, yeah I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that bill.
"Impossible to restore." Ridiculous! It would be an easy job to restore it for anyone who makes colored jewelry.
