      TheIceman567 Upper and Lower Canada existed. It was a British Colony, technically, that was brought into a war by the British and with America, but still fought as a separate entity. it's not.much different than what happened in WWI. Canada was brought into a war that had nothing to do with it by Britain because we were still techncally a British Colony. Wasn't till after WWI that Canada began to become a real Player internationally. At any rate it was troops from Upper and lower Canada that burned the white house, not British landed troops.

      If ur a women than ur born with more benefits and opportunities than a male here. As a women u get paid higher wage than men for the hours worked, you get more time off for personal reasons, u get more opportunities to get jobs to meet quotas, you also get more bursary for education and STEM, U have more social and healthcare funding to use, you get to retire earlier to receive pension than males, ur also less likely to die at workplace or commit suicide. And if u get divorce even if the women cheated, she will be entitled to her children, the house, and alimony for life. Basically Canada is a great place to raise a family that stays together because of the huge tax breaks and social services u pay in the taxes, but for a single guy its horrible because you will pay into a system much more than u will get back. for the single women its not that bad because u can still use most of the services.
      US: also has high taxes for single person, but at least here the opportunity to make money IS FAR GREATER!!! there is also much much more JOBS and cost of living is cheaper! So if u are a single man or a women its best to be here.

    It's a tradition that the first foreign visit by a US president is to Canada: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_visits_to_Canada That's how close the USA believes its relationship with Canada is. Nope it's the IGA between the U.S. and Canada for FATCA that means Canada is the 51st state of the U.S. Know your history and defend your sovereignty Canada! ALL Canadians need to know what is going on right now. American laws now govern Canadian banks on Canadian soil and they can and now are freezing and seizing money from Canadian citizens. This is not a joke and not an exaggeration. Do not put your heads in the sand.

    • @Mindraker1
      @Mindraker1 8 лет назад +5

      Dark Reins FATCA has nothing to do with incorporating Canada into the USA. It's just that US citizens who spend over a year abroad don't have to pay US taxes for that year. So, as you can expect, many US citizens who live in Canada with wealth in Canada are not reporting their wealth. The IRS still wants to know your income and wealth, it's just you don't have to pay.

    • @ReinsOfRuination
      @ReinsOfRuination 8 лет назад +1

      That is not correct. U.S. citizens must always pay taxes to the U.S. on their world wide income no matter where they live either permanently or temporarily. FATCA is a U.S. law of compliance that Canadian financial institutions must abide by. Essentially, if the U.S. changes that law with amendments it takes effect in Canada as immediately as it does in the U.S. The Canadian government has no say in approval. Also, FATCA can effect anyone the U.S. feels is taxable (U.S. persons), it is not limited to U.S. citizens.
      Your response suggested that you have no idea what FATCA is really about.

    • @Mindraker1

      It's considered a stalemate only in America. Everywhere else teaches that 1812 was a failure in that US did not obtain (or annex) any British North American territory or really accomplish any strategic goals.
      Maybe you think it's a stalemate because you "stopped the British" and they couldn't retake the American colonies... but you're forgetting that France was the real threat at the time, forcing British forces to focus on the European continent. Wars on opposite sides of the world did not make sense considering the US was not a valuable asset compared to the Caribbean or India...

When we looked out of our living room window we could see Minnesota. They're crazy - they like fishing, hockey and curling - geez they're just like us! Because some of us are old school. 'America' was a single continent until WW2. The States are The United States 'of' America. They are 'part' of America... not America as a whole. They may call themselves America, but that doesn't make it correct.

    • @jdshultis
      @jdshultis 7 лет назад

      If you do you might want to look into why the phrase changed from "United States are" to "United States is" after the 1860's (except for those of us who are Originalists), how Vermont was treated as an independent Republic (separate from the USA) before the Constitution was ratified and replaced the Articles of Confederation, and why people thought of themselves primarily as Virginians, N. Carolinians, etc. It relates to why the Declaration of Independence declares that the (former) Colonies are now "Free and Independent States" (not a singular free & independent Nation or State), and why, in the Treaty of Paris, "Britain acknowledges the (list naming all 13 States individually) to be free, sovereign, and independent states, and that the British Crown and all heirs and successors relinquish claims to the Government, property, and territorial rights of the same, and every part thereof...." Another historical clue is the fact that some colonies (e.g. Rhode Island) declared independence before the Continental Congress did. In short, as Daniel Webster stated, "The States are Nations."

    One thing to note is that prior to the 7 years war, the French speakers of Canada called themselves Canadians, and had many of the same national symbols and myths as modern Canada, such as the maple leaf, the beaver, and the idea of northern wilderness that defines much of Canadian nationhood. In many ways, the nation of Canada was formed during its time under New France.
