Refresher/Reminder; I have three great video suggestions for you. Dhampirs; The Strange Case of the "boneless children", the ancient legends said that in the place of Bones they have a gelatinous substance and also have an instinctive hatred for vampires (pheromones perhaps?), they can be children of an uninfected with an infected, rare cases of women infected during pregnancy or just mutants. in legends, it was said that vampires still retained some of their humanity and ended up raping their wives. Vrykolakas; Rare cases of double infection by a pair of viruses that alter the genetics of their host, legends mention that "like wolves they walked on all fours" and depending on the source it was said that they "returned" as direwolves/werewolves. Cambion; half-demons whose only power is attractiveness (financial, sexual and or social), the legends said that succubi after "collecting" the semen would pass or become an incubus that there "places" in a woman, in this case I would say it would be a type of parasite similar to cuckoos.
@@tell-me-a-story- The main idea of vampires was the undead who came out of the grave to suck the Vital energy of living beings as there are different ways of describing Vital energy the most common at the time of legends being breath, blood, mind, dream and "Sexual Energy" it made sense to portray vampires also sucking in other ways, apart from that vampires contrary to the current idea of well dressed nobles with big egos they were originally depicted as mindless beasts who follow their own most malevolent instincts so that's the connection. ps; interesting curiosity in the 19th century the idea of Vital energy became electricity due to experiments that were taking place at the time and this gave the inspiration for Frankenstein, so vampires theoretically can "drink" electricity.
Bro you might get your rocks off thinking and talking about vampire rapists but it is definitely not monetizable content and will obviously not be in any scripts.
Werewolves and vampires have so much incredible lore and abilities that the stories speak of. It's sad that in so many fictional incarnations of these beings they don't really give them the prowess the legends speak of.
The section of the vamps along with that chupacabra episode reminded me how much i crave for more cryptobiology stuff of more vampires, from the chiropteran/batty vamps of ancient mesoamerican religion, to the arboreal asanbosam of southern ghana, the strigoi of eastern europe/romania, and the lamia and vrykolakas of greece~!
This 2-parter (and hopefully more) is one of my favorites on this channel. I don’t know how much of this was intentional by the game designers, but I love how so much of these monsters’ natures are scientifically explainable. It’s really cool conceptually and works well with the horror/dark fantasy theme of the Witcher series, making the monsters seem even more plausible.
I love the fact the siren has wings for flight and the tail for the water side. As a nod for original sirens and a hint at mermaids ❤ they are one of my top fav creatures in the witcher
Since you enjoy looking at how biology mixes with horror/dark fantasy, I recommend you take a look at some of the Wesen from NBC's "Grimm." Much like the Witcher series, a core theme of "Grimm" was that monster hunters (or Grimms) took detailed notes on the anatomy and behaviors of the creatures they faced, and the show found some interesting ways to answer questions like "How can be have a fire-breathing dragon without just saying 'it's magic?'" Or, "How do we make a super-strong ogre, and then how do we kill it?" Or, "Can we make zombies without necromancy?"
Please do the witchers themselves. The few that go into detail like you have yet to. If you I’d recommend a conversation with Eskel in Withcer1 game’s prologue.
For your next monster biology,I'd like to suggest the bunyip,I have an idea about it you might find interesting For the mammalian form The bunyip was first properly discovered after British colonists who reported a "crocodile dog" that attacked at sight when anyone fetched water at night *Thylacobunyip* is the world's largest marsupial, related to the tasmanian devil, and extinct tasmanian tiger and thylacoleo. Their slick oily,seal-like fur makes them difficult to harm, having any blunt damage or grab slide of,the eyes have shifted to the front of the head and face straight forward, having a blue tapetum lucidum and white membrane allows the bunyip beast to see in murky water and the darkest of nights, their short, dog like muzzle has odd teeth that face straight back like those of serpents, not allowing any prey to escape their bite. the hind limbs are shorter then the front limbs, with the hind set being webbed and almost flipper like, while the front have four fingers and a spike that resembles a thumb, the spike injects a hemotoxin that causes rapid blood clotting in larger prey. the back of the bunyip beast is extremely flexible and usually forms a hump when they travel on land, giving a camel like look, though the oddest part are the horns, unlike other marsupial, the bunyip beast has two bull like horns protrude from the head of the males that are used in interspecies combat,as well as marking their territory, knocking down trees and moving logs to the shores of their lakes and bilibongs and using their poison to leave a telltale scent on the logs. ------------------------------------ Another form of bunyip although unrelated,is a massive predatory bird. ------------------------------------ *Phalacrocorax bunyip* ,also called the bunyip bird or *Kianpraty* ,stand at six feet tall, with a 15.3 foot wingspan, they have muddy brown feathers and deep green, reed like head plumage to attract mates, their booming calls used to signal their location due to a nomadic lifestyle. Under the correct light level and when facing these huge birds head on,they have an almost human like appearance and resemble a man with green hair and a black and white cloak the are massive relatives to the cormorant, though they resemble a mix of the shoebill stork and the hoatzin, having a huge wide bill and sharp claws on its wings. Do to their huge shoebill like mouth that can crack bones, the bunyip primarily feed on marsupials and small crocodiles, but never pass up a chance at eating humans, chasing them into the water before snapping the neck or cracking the skull with their beaks. The bunyip birds have a lethal amount of vitamin a in their blood which started the legend that of you kill one,you will suffer a bad death. Although they are capable of short flight, they Excel at swimming, their tightly layered wing feathers acting like flippers allowing them to shoot through the water like an arrow without making a ripple on the water.
So. I lost a round of Gwent to an dcholar and he made me listen to some weird story about "tanks" and other war machines made of metal. Didn't get half of what he said, but I did get to buy some scrolls on monsters for my research too. So it wasn't that bad. Now if only I could get a few samples. Might hire a Witcher.
Great video. Witcher is full of mythical creatures (mostly taken from slavic folklore) that deserve a separate video. Thank you very much, and... You matter (#SorryNotSorry for steeling your line). ❤
Just stumbled upon this channel. I am not really into mythical creatures but this gives the subject a very original an creative twist which is very entertaining. Sub for sure
I would love to see you tackle the world and creatures of either Dark Souls 1, Bloodborne, or Elden Ring. I would LOVE any of the above but i think Bloodborne would have the most interesting creatures for you to really sink your teeth into.....or maybe Elden Ring would be better since its more current/popular it would more than likely get more views for you.
@@Nathan_Coley it's definitely one of if not the best open world game. The depth and detail is unmatched. Crimson desert is supposed to be somewhat of a spiritual successor. So I'm definitely excited to see more games that focus on quality like the witcher
If you’re interested in more information about the lives and social customs of higher vampires, I would recommend seeking out a fellow by the name of Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, or just Regis among friends. So long as you make your peaceful intentions clear to him, he should be quite willing to cooperate with you, as he is also a lover of science. Please do be advised that Regis is recovering from a relapse of his blood addiction, so be sure that any injuries you have sustained during your time in the continent are properly tended to. It is also worth noting that Regis takes great pride in his distillation of spirits from mandrake root, so be sure to drink responsibly. Regis was last said to be residing in the Duchy of Toussaint, though due to the recent actions of another higher vampire in the region, it is uncertain if he is still there. Best of luck to you on the Path of Scientific Discovery, friend.
Werewolves and dogmen both two different species are infact real however Werewolves are not people who turn into beasts they always stay in an animalistic form but are able to reason and protect humans from other things and they can speak.
I liked this but I would recommend including some sort of internal biologically used magic in your descriptions if the cannon world has such. Excluding any mention of magic from a very magical world causes some strange immersion breaking sense of wrongness.
Must be lovely to get paid like I bet you do and not even narrate let alone think of your own material. Brought to you by "Please pay us to steal your DNA!" Stock footage. 304k subs. Anyone STILL not realize this is a propaganda platform?

have you considered D&D's illithid? they are a good bit less "cuz magik" than one would expect.
So just saw this video posted as "members only ad free" it's already ad free for me I have premium. Nice try though
