I think you should maybe consider the countless hours and years spent training to get onto that stage and the strength to be able to bend the blade how you'd like, but yk bad fencing i guess...
If you want realistic fencing, do HEMA. Olympic fencing is not meant to represent a realistic duel with real weapons at this point. It is a sport and that's all it wants to and has to be. It is an incredibly fun one at that. I do both HEMA and olympic fencing and the mindset when fencing is completely different and that is ok. If you think of it as games, one is call of duty and the other is ready or not. Both are fun but in different ways and for different reasons. Some like one better than the other and others like them both, but neither is better or worse than the other just because one is closer to realism. If they are both well made and have fun and engaging gameplay, both games can be equally fun regardless of how close to the real thing they are. It's the same with HEMA and Olympic fencing.
For some reason, bending the sword like it's a car antenna counts as good fencing these days.
