Lisa Parent Ive found with anything for sillouettes software its always good and super easy when you find the person that explains it best for you. Takes a few people on each topic but youll find quick and easy answers by doing so and not just trying something you dont understand yet. Sillouette is awesome for a affordable cutter and the community of people is excellent to share so much good info. Thank you all for that.
Love watching Ken because he is very informative and takes a slow approach to explaining every detail. So many on u tube are to fast talking and don't realize this is all new to some of us. Thanks Ken!
Yet another confusing issue for my Silhouette resolved by your very easy to follow instructions. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain these things for us, Ken, it is much appreciated!!
Thank you for this wonderful video. I read on a blog that another way to get rid of double lines is to turn off the high pass filter before tracing. However, that does not seem to work for me on more complicated designs, so I am going to try your suggestion of using the compound path.
Do you have to print out designs before they will cut?? I know this maybe a stupid question but I'm very new to this I just got my silhouette 3 in February and just now starting to learn how to use it ❤thank you
Thank you so much for the video! I always find that I have the hardest time when it comes to double lines. I usually just delete my work and try something else that might work with whatever project I'm working on. You're videos have helped me to understand things without all the mumbo jumbo of "graphic speak". There is so much to learn about this machine and I am so glad I bought it. It possibilities ARE endless!
Thanks for the tutorials! You make it so easy to understand. So when would I want to make a compound path vs using the subtract tool? It looks like they do the same thing....?
When you said "Compound paths compound scared me".... I died lololol I love your video, thank you so much!!! What a life saver...It is NOT as simple as playing with the high pass filter setting as many videos claim. Just what I was looking for. :-)
Very interesting technique Ken. I don't own a Silhouette so I've never seen this before but it seems like a good thing to know. thanks for the instructions. pat
Oh M GEE! YOU are MY HAPPY! This tutorial is ridiculous helpful!! Your teaching style is PERFECTION! Thank you thank you THANK YOU! I FINALLY understand compound passes vs grouping etc!! I want to leave work and go home to play with my machine!!
Ack! Just found this video hoping it would solve all my tracing problems, but it didn't work! I traced an outlined image, deleted the original file, selected the whole thing and right clicked on 'release compound paths' and nothing. No small squares. Still double lines everywhere. What am I doing wrong?
omg ken you have such cute dimples lol just teasing.this is the first video i have seen you teach you are great at it. i am going searching to see if there is any more. good job
I had already traced an image and come across the double lines before and removed the inner line by releasing the compound path. This morning I traced and scanned another image but did not close it up so it had a complete line around it. Because I had done that the release the compound path option was not available. It occurred to me when I saw all your images were totally closed. Little things like that often trip us up!
Forgot to ask.........how will I know WHEN to use the line thickness on a project?? Is it something I should do all the time or only on certain images??
Hi Ken :) as always a very informative easy step by step tutorial ... I find them very helpful as well as interesting... I don't own a silhouette or a cricut explore....one day LOL!!!... I have a cricut expression so at least I can use that :) At least if I ever own either one of these great machines at least I will have a head start thank you :) love watching your videos and your creations tips etc....keep up the great work :) have a wonderful day and Happy crafting :) Magz :)
OMG I hadn't used my Cameo in over a year, crazy life took me away from my paper and vinyl addiction. Well I have forgotten so many of these types of tips and tricks. I was going CRAZY trying to figure out how to remove the second cut line. Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU, you have saved from insanity!!! :*

To prevent double lines when you are tracing an image, uncheck Highpass Filter.
