Amazing run! The way you quickly turn the engine on and off to go faster reminds me of sail pumping in Wind Waker speedruns, funny how two sailing games are so similar. Best of luck for your future runs!
I just finished this game casually recently and seeing such perfectly executed sailing while I was smacking all over is so nice to see. Plus your excitement at achieving the WR is so infectious!
Damn that's quick! Hope you end up doing at least a single 100% run eventually, though I imagine that would entail a lot of boring grinding for research parts at the shop.
As soon as there is a good route for that, I would love to! Yet the community still has to agree which achievements are included in 100%. Is it fully upgraded boat, all quests, all fishes (full encyclopedia), all researches? Or do we exclude the fish and/or research? In my opinion, 100% should include the following: All relics All quests All fishes and aberrations (full encyclopedia). I would like to exclude fully upgraded hull and full research, because the research part farming is entirely rng-based. Getting fishes and aberrations is rng-based too, but it is way more manageable and you can set up your rod-equipment to purposely aim for certain species.
@@HussaSR Well for me, a 100% is a 100%. all quests, all relics, entire encyclopedia, full ship, everything that can be done in a game. Only exception would be accumulative achievements, like that for using banish 10 times and such that cannot be properly measured in a game.
"Hello, welcome to the Shipwright. What kind of upgrades do you need? Huh, you have no fishing pole and can't even afford one? Alright, I'll give you this just this one time. Hello, back already? You already lost it?! Ugh, fine, I'll give you just ONE more, but seriously, be careful with it, and your money. Hello,... How?! How do you do that? I... maybe fishing ain't right for you, huh?"
Isn't it possible to do the good ending without wasting time collecting the relics? It would be sailing to the old mayor and then to the lighthouse and doing the good ending
you have indeed completely misunderstood speedrunning as a concept and a course of action. no speedrunner is able to complete a speedrun without dedicating several hours to practice, as well as having already completed the game normally at least once.
We as the speedrunning community are actually in close contact to the developers. They support us with knowledge and love watching us enjoying the game in our own way. All the graphics used in my channel design have been provided to us by Black Salt Games. I highly enjoyed playing this game casually. There is no one more passionate about this game than its speedrunning community. You shouldn't project your expectations of how games are allegedly supposed to be played onto other people.
The more you know about speed running, the more you see when developpers had speedrunning in mind when they made the game. Dredge is a good example of a game when the devs had the speedruning in mind too, as you can tell from game mechanics like the teleport and the ability to sleep less or not at all. Teh way the map is designed also shows they thought of speedrunning. Also, some devs actually speedrun their own games (Hades, for instance).
“I’m excited as whale” Me too pal, nice run
Love the fact that he firstly went from crashing his boat to summoning cthullu in 35 minutes

@@HussaSR You could just split it into 100% (Your definition) and Max% (Doing Everything) like I've seen some categories do.
@@criticalmodegaming1362 I actually did a 100% run yesterday and it really does include everything. :D 4:44:44
Soooo we are down to 3,5 hours. As soon as we get to 3h, I will upload it hehehe

Is there a reason why you don't middle mouse click the research items to have them in your inventory quicker than left click and dragging them?
Wow, very impressive!
Nice run, does the fishingrod trick in the start work in the latest patch?
I subbed. Thanks for asking.
Nice job!
Nice run
Gibt es davon auch eine Deutsche Version ?
Nein, aber vielleicht stream ich beizeiten mal auf deutsch. :) Wenn du Fragen hast, stell sie gern!

You need 4 relics for the mayor to spawn.
@@HussaSR I didn´t know that
Why did you keep moving engines like that towards the end?
As reinstalling the engine moves the time forward, it cools down the Atrophy timer. We need Atrophy for the second aberration.
To skip time to exactly the right place, its more accurate and faster than sleeping

Totally don’t understand y people ruin games by speed running. So disrespectful to the programmers who have put in so much time and effort
