    I just tested it with an Allen wrench and it works perfect. This is how we learn from our fellow pickers. I'm stoked right now.

    This video was made for me wasn't it lol. Now I have a chance to pick my JARED on video. Its the one I had in the background of my videos. It's almost identical to yours. I need to make a wire now. Thank you so much for this much needed video.

      +Randy Perkins that would be cool. I was already as soon as I seen this video trying to make one from a coat hanger. It wasn't working so well. But I think if I worked at it I may have been able to make it work.

    ah very nice! I think the squire padlocks was my very first pick! and you can get music / piano wire from model shops. the right gauge will give you tension and pick wires ( really strong wire ) you would get good results using a blow torch to bend wire and some grinding is needed !!

      tonyholt90 good advice, thanks :-)

    Very nice picking the big one open Lock Noob :). Works very nice, as I've experienced this method on a smaller lever padlock.
    The only downside is, you can't get it closed this way ;D. Very nice to watch your lever videos :).

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 лет назад +2

      redcatimaging thanks :-) you are right about getting it closed, but that's less fun anyway ;-) hehe. Mad Bob have said my lever padlock pick set is dispatched so MORE lever vids to come my Foxxy friend :-)

      That's very nice of you to say, Mup I said I hope I can inspire at least one person! I don't have much in the way of lever picking equipment so I have to use 'accessible' tools and techniques. Lever picking is a dark art and one I am only really nibbling at, but it is great fun!

    On a lock where there is a hole at the back of the keyway. Cut away the back area of the key and leave a high lift part one lever thick at the front of the key. That way you can use the hole at the back of the lock to hold the key steady, moving in and out the lock whilst lifting the levers.
    If you leave the back part of the key still on, (to lift the levers). It moves around and is harder to control.
    The do the reverse if using a key to pick a lock with a post in the middle of the keyway. Cut away the front part of the key, leaving the back part one lever thick. to move to the back to the lever pack, whilst tensioning with a tool from the side of the lock shackle.

    I have a Squire 660 that I need to open as I have lost the key! Mine is getting on for 50 years old and still looks identical to yours but it has a couple of differences. The main one being that there is not enough room to get an allen key down next to the hasp which is making life a bit awkward! It also does not have those two white washers at the pivot end of the hasp. It seems that Squire have changed their tooling down the years but the lock is still basically identical from the outside so I wonder if the inside is still the same.

    I have the MadBob lever lock pick set and still cannot pick the darnn things!! Pin tumbler no problems but I just can't get my head around levers as yet. Still not got an open from my Squire Old English 440 padlock. Think I will need to make a cutaway to understand what's happening in the mechanism!! You made it look far too easy with the Allen key technique😭

    These are nice padlocks but not very secure. The keys for these are widely available.
