Mkay, I'll just make sure any crashes my children may be in exactly match the government testing standards.

First off, these are called combination seats, and they're only for children over 2yo at a minimum. Under that, definitely needs to be rear-facing. The minimum age to safely use a booster is 5yo, but the older, the better.

Has NOTHING to do with age. My 5 year old is only 35 pounds and she turns 6 in 5 months. Her younger friend is over 70 pounds. ALWAYS go by weight and height. Age is nothing when it comes to this subject. A forward facing 2 year old can become internally decapitated and it happens far too often..

@@mistypedhi it does have to do with age (for instance, a 70lbs 3yo isn’t mature enough for a booster), but you’re absolutely correct that kids should remain rear facing past 2yo as long as possible. The height and weight minimums are there so people have a more solid reference to go by (like for your daughter who meets the age minimum, but not the other two), but bones mature and fuse as children age, and kids need a certain amount of bone development to move to each stage. You need to pay attention to all three when choosing a car seat because a 25lbs 1yo who meets the forward facing minimums will not have the same bone development as a 4yo with the same stats. - CPST
