It happened when I was in 6th grade when someone pulled a fire alarm on purpose and all the class went outside. It happened the 2nd time when we walked back in the class. That was many many years ago. Yea these fire alarm systems you can't mess around.
i go to freedom park school. in the elementary part we had system sensor speaker strobes.now in the middle school part we have these exactly alarms but there are only two in the hallway.the science class was had the only alarm in the entire school with a horn
My school has a mix of wheelock ns/wheelock as/wheelock exceeder. So, as you can expect, they scare the sh*t out of me. Also, when my school does a fire drill, its a SURPRISE, so it scares me more.
I struggle to understand why they implement a fire drill function into the panel. You are supposed to pull a different pull station each time and eventually you've pulled all of them and you know it's working
Indicates to fire departments it's a drill and not an alarm. Each panel is different however, the one where I work doesn't have one so when a drill is performed they have to notify the FD a drill will take place since they are likely pulling a pull station to initiate it.
My Birthday was today along with my old schools principal so after school i went and asked if they had one yet. They said no so i asked if i could pull the fire alarm and they said yes. couldn't record cause i didn't have my phone.
Looks a lot like the one at 0:36 is dead! Have yet to notice that with the new piezo horns... But, OTOH, there was an issue where Faraday electromechanical horns have a tendency to go mute or sound horrid. (Because of the contacts and/or the reed) The cause may be corrosion or oxidation...
we have ceiling mount ones (PC4W's) in the classrooms and hallways of my elementary school. and a spectralert classic in the Pre-K rooms. so we dont scare the Preschoolers.
Spectralert advances are ear piercing, but it is so cool when they go in sync and when they echo when your a few feet away from the alarm
I recently visited this school. It appears that all of the spectralert advances have been replaced with L-Series speaker strobes.

So loud you that I still cover my ears when I hear it OUTSIDE. Why would they put it in every classroom? :(

I believe it's a law to have alarms in the classroom
I think they should be in every classroom if not or put mini horns in every classroom.
