Really, the way the proposal, goes is irrelevant, its the meaning behind it and of he was willing to put that much effort and embarrassment in it then she doesn't deserve a proposal
I love pokemon myself and a proposal themed to that series is a cute idea, but only when two points are met:
One-both people are into the series.
And Two-you don't whack your potentially soon-to-be fiance in the FACE with pokeballs!! LOL! Seriously, everything else but that happening was fine.
I get that he loves the game and all. But you could do other things for it to be special. Like...a pokeball ring for a girl that doesn't even like it, just doesnt make sense to me. Why do a pokemon themed proposal for a girl who's not into pokemon? I blame his friends or family that knows about this for not helping him

But that's the problem in itself isn't it? It's what he is excited and happy about, it has nothing to do with her or their relationship, it's just all about him. She wants to remember it as one of the happiest days of her life, something that encompasses their relationship not just a day when all he thought about was himself.

It was custom made and labor. Do you think that they have a ring like that ready up for anyone?? Not to mention the style, warranty, and quality of the stone if he went into that much detail for her
