Swedish military sabre according to Stockholm 1893

- This is my personal interpretation of the section on stances, steps and lunges from the anonymous Swedish military sabre manual "Instruktion i sabelfäktning till fots" (Instruction in sabre fencing on foot) published in Stockholm in 1893.
As far as I know, there's no translation of it available but the original manual is available as a PDF on GHFS webpage: www.ghfs.se/ima...
It really is commendable that you put out something like this! Just a few things:
1. You're holding your weapon hand too low almost all the time. The hand should be just below nipple height, never lower unless you have a specific reason for it (like parrying a low horizontal cut)
2. I'm sorry, but you've got inside volte after half-march completely wrong. You're ending up in left guard but with the sabre in the right hand. Go back and check the description and the footwork diagram.
3. When doing the offline lunges, you're showing an attack in the same direction as the direction of the lunge. The attack should be at about 90 degree angle to this, because that's where the opponent is. When doing an offline lunge, you're not meant to lunge straight towards the opponent, you're supposed to lunge "around" him to establish a new line of attack at 45 degrees angle to the old one.
4. You shouldn't pull back the weapon hand to the body when changing from right to left guard.
5. I don't know why, but after the illustration of tierce, the preferred engaging guard of the system, you go on to not demonstrate it, but show a quarte guard with the hand held too low instead.
6. The forward lunge is demonstrated without leaning the upper body forwards.
7. The appelle should be a stomp, not gently placing the foot on the ground.

I realise it doesn't help non-swedish speakers, but if anyone is interested in translation, then here you go. From what I understand, it's free of copyright claims, so this should be ok.
usually you can just put a Swedish text in google translate for a decent translation, but in this case it's might be harder since it uses old spelling with the use of f were today we would use a v and a lot of archaic language that doesn't see much use in modern Swedish.
