Loved the concept of this video! But as a New Yorker who has stayed in many Manhattan hotels, you definitely could have stayed in a better hotel for that price, like The Baccarat, Equinox (which both have indoor pools) or even the iconic Plaza Hotel!
i find it actually outrageous that the toilet paper was just some cheap stuff. Additionally, for that sort of price you’d expect them to allow you to take the fancy stuff home
So brave that you actually slept in the bed at Bowery grand hotel, I was looking for cheap stays in New York for a couple nights and was appalled by the reviews, I was so shook that there were so many things wrong there ! Excellent video, though I do think the most expensive hotel obviously seems overpriced, no doubt you could get everything you are looking for at a better price.
I'm not sure I would want to spend my money in either of those rooms. Both were overprice . However that night view on the second room was fantastic. However just step out the hotel and look up I'm sure you would get the same view but for free. Love the the video. Would like to see the same worst and best but with Air B'n'B.

Hi a friend of mine came to London last month booked an Airbnb. Arrived, the place was filthy, not cleaned from previous guests. How do people leave a place in such a mess. Needless to say he left snd found a lovely little hotel. All very well booking ahead but no idea what you are in for.
Why do I feel like there are other hotels in nyc that would give you more amenities included for less than the ritz Carlton? I feel like RC is mostly the name you’re spending money for!
Best value for money boutique hotel in New York is the Arlo Midtown. Very reasonably priced for NYC, very modern and clean and centrally located. Stayed there last year for St=. Paddy's Day and it was well worth every penny.
So they put Pringles and snacks in the luxury hotel but you still need to pay if you eat it? So you need to pay for it, it wasn’t included in the hotel price?
Try this again, but stay at the Aman, the Plaza, the Baccarat, the Mark, or the Carlyle. The Ritz locations in NYC are more popular with business travelers and tend to not really have much of a personality.
When I saw what the second hotel was called I was excited as I stayed there when it was called “The Hotel St. Moritz”. Was great value back when I stayed in the 90’s.. stayed in a junior suit overlooking Central Park which looked very similar to the room you stayed in.
Imagine taking the bed bugs with you in your backpack, on your clothes because this is how it happens frequently:/ And then you take them with you to a nice hotel. :D I experienced that 2,5years battle including chemicals and restoration if whole flat. Do not recommend. So every time I see this kind of video I only think about that. In every hostel I check every corner, beds, mattresses from above and beyond.
The Ritz Carlton is so overpriced, especially as the treatments etc weren't included and the room was basic. You can get better value hotels in NYC. They're paying for the name, and Ritz Carlton are paying for the location.
I really don't think the Ritz Carlton was worth the money. Not only did you have to spend a lot of money for the room, but you also had to spend a lot of money for everything else. It would have been interesting to see the black light in the Ritz, bet it would not have passed.

I stayed in an AirBnB on Staten Island, about 10 mins away from the ferry for $30 a night, clean and comfortable, with a free ferry to Manhattan 24-7.

I've stayed in nice hotels. They ALWAYS get you on the extras. They leave fancy things everywhere and then bill you if you so much as touch them haha
