This performance is so wonderfully informal all-the-while showcasing Elvis's tremendous talent and charisma. It's as if Elvis came into your living room and started jamming. If you watch any documentary on the 1968 Comeback Special, you'll hear about how nervous Elvis was to come on stage. He refused at first, fearful that too much time had passed since his last live performance in front of an audience. As soon as he got to the stage, he instantly relaxed. He was in his element performing in front of people.

The man was A genius, never had a music lesson in his life, to see him in concert was a true blessing,, lucky enough to see him 3 times and those were the best days of my life , please keep on the Elvis journey, he'll never dissapoint, TCB 1935🤺🤺🤺🤺⚡⚡⚡⚡👑👑👑👑⚡👃👃👃👃👃👃

i was 12 years old when i first really listened to elvis , what you have witnessed is " gospel , rock and rhythm and blues " it moves you and yes the voice is a key to move you , elvis puts you in a state of mind no matter what the song for he was that state of mind , god and his fans spoke to him thru his music to each their own , i am now 60 years old and his music is always new to me ! i'm glad to see the younger generation feel his style , and experience the elvis of three decades , 50 60 70s you won't see it again in todays music field again

ELVIS is a vibe and you should always watch him live, must see ELVIS performances are as follows, 1970 live in Vegas Suspicions Minds, and Polk Salad Anne, then Try If I Can Dream from the 68 comeback special, the show stopping How Great Thou Art 1972 and 1977 right before he died. ELVIS will blow you away with Bridge Over Troubled Waters on his vocals. Trying to Get to You is maybe his most raw look. There are many more, so pick one, but you won’t be able to stop.

Elvis loved his fans. You could feel the energy flow out from him during his performances and then he would receive an energy back from the audience. You should really dive deeper into his catalog and react to some of his gospel and country songs. I love how authentic and mindful your reactions are.

This is a rock song from earlier in his career and Jailhouse Rock is as well. Elvis was at the beginning of rock in the 50's...there was no such thing as "metal" or "Hard Rock"...it was just Rock n Roll. Though Elvis' early brand was often called Rockabilly.

I think the word you're looking for is "timbre". Other singers who have raspy voices are tiring to listen to and they are kind of 1 dimensional and their voices can be cold. He does have the warmest vocal timbre. During the same TV special he sings Are You Lonesome Tonight and it's a completely different crooner-type vibe with pure sweetness and tenderness in his voice. Just so difficult to pin his voice down to one particular style/genre. I love how deeply you analyse the performance rather than just worry about what the song is about. True soul is the feeling that the music gives you x
