Clear explanation
I like that you are supportive of other cello content creators channels as well🥰
Your willingness to be unselfish is so refreshing.
I appreciate that. Thank you for the comment.
Perfect explanation 👍
Does this work for playing scales quickly, slurred? (In other words, music)
That is an awesome question! And the answer is YES! The entire reason to do scales this way is because of the actual music itself. Remember that you are getting rid of open strings with this scale fingering and playing in different positions besides just first position. This is an absolute must if you want to advance your playing and play in a more musical way.
👏
Nice that you acknowledge other channels (particularly one), but you talk FAR too much and demonstrate so little. Just PLAY the scales and we can see what you are doing! You only need a brief chat about open/closed. Thanks for your efforts.
Thanks for the feedback. You must be a very advanced player. In that case It would be great if you would record yourself playing the scales in a shorter video and post a link here for everyone to use. Let me know.
@@thecelloonline Apologies for late reply (only just seen your comment). Please don't take offence. I think what you are trying to say is that by "open" you mean (in D major) the second finger is stretched because the second and third degrees of the scale (in major) are tones not semitones. So it is 1, extended 2, 4 next position 1,extended 2, 4 - next string etc 1,2 ,4 , 1,2,4, 1,3 4.
