  • Most reputable independent gem labs require Padparadscha Sapphires to undergo "Color Stability" testing. In this video, we use a UV Light to demonstrate what a potential color stability test could reveal about a sapphire's color.
Please do not try this test at home.
#padparadscha is the most rare type of sapphire. Since a premium price is attached to the name, it is essential to understand what can happen to a fancy sapphire that may have that potential "Padparadscha" color look, but then over time--go away. Since we specialize in Padparadscha Sapphires, we believe it is very important to learn about the latest developments on sapphire testing.
The Lab Manual Harmonization Committee (LMHC) and its members can be found here: www.lmhc-gemmology.org . If you have any questions about your own gemstones, we highly recommended consulting with an accredited lab (such as the ones noted in the link) and/or AGL & GRS when submitting gemstones.
