    It is hard to believe how big those 777 engines. Except when you realize that they make a wing over 100+ feet look small. Just plain astonishingly magnificent.

      And the engines used on the 777-300ER are even bigger!

    Ah the good old MD series. Such a workhorse almost irreplaceable. I remember as a kid flying out of Albany to O'Hare. It was overbooked and crowded! I was so excited when we got back on a DC-10 to go to LAX.

    Great video - nice, to the point, not jabbering through the whole thing :-) Enjoyed - thanks (always book the 777 when I can)

    Just blasting out the trip reports lately Paul. Another great one. very enjoyable to watch. The first class seat might have been old, but its still better than most of the domestic first you get. Nice to be on a wide body.

    Thank you. A wonderful video and presentation.
    Paul, you should be the best person to show us a Retrofitted 772 from American Airlines, you seen to be the perfect person, to explain and show us all the details, so we could enjoy and discover it in the future.
    Thanks again,
    jb

    That is my favorite plane and Rolls Royce engine. I’m a love with Boeing 777-200 with Rolls Royce Trent 800 Engines. I hope this flight will be travel from Chicago O’Hare to Los Angeles, Dallas or Miami. I’ll be seating on Premium Economy. For LA, I will going to see Ellen Show and visit Six Flags. For Dallas, I will going to visit Six Flags and ride on roller coasters. For Miami, I will going to visit Newsport and tour of shows in Doral. Shoutout from Prospect Heights, IL.

    I find it amazing how you recognized Roanoke. When I'm flying home, I could barely spot which city is which when landing at DFW. Unless it's Arlington (Cowboy stadium, Texas Rangers Stadium and six flags), Grapevine or Southlake.

    Hi Paul: I'm new to your channel and am enjoying what you film. Two requests I would like to make is that you show details of the menu and describe what each food item is. A lot of us like to see what we'd have compared to what you actually eat. In the meantime, I look forward to your videos. Cheers

      Hey, thanks for watching :-) Whenever there's a menu provided, I always film it. However on most internal USA flights there's no menu card provided on board - in fact I preordered this meal in Manage My Booking some weeks before. On some of the bigger, better flights (see my BA First Class ones), you can see details of the other options. Internal USA flights kind of suck a bit for food I'm afraid...

    Wow. American offers hot meals on domestic fligths! I flew United from Chicago to Houston First class and just got drinks.

      +Oswaldo Öberg AA, like most American carriers only offer a hot meal on selected routes. Just got lucky here!

    Seems to be a bit of a overkill. A 777 from Chicago to Dallas? Must be a popular route. Great report.

    • @Paul_Lucas
      @Paul_Lucas  8 лет назад +1

      +Soreyes11 It's another domestic flight that really acts as a way of getting the aircraft from one international leg to another. This flight arrives in ORD from FCO and goes to DFW, then to LAX where it works another long haul to somewhere else.

    Excellent video review !!!
    Question ... at the AA is often possible to see traces of an untidy interior ???
    And a welcome drink in the glass it is time to file !!!

    A 777 on a short domestic route? How can they sustain the costs of doing that?

    • @Paul_Lucas
      @Paul_Lucas  8 лет назад +2

      +James Davis This is one of those internal flights that just acts to position the aircraft between two international legs. It goes on to LAX after DFW.

      Because they always use the domestic 777 plane for that route search that plane on seat guru

      because they can fill them...... because they reposition them for international routes............. because it beats United 737...... because it's simply nice......... you could take Amtrak, if you wish.....

    I find your remarks funny..."retro"???? omg... it takes millions of dollars to fit out those planes, and updating them every 17 mins. is just simply impossible...... "museum piece" for the video? omg... it's an airplane, not your living room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @Paul_Lucas

      Strange comment. These cabins are from the 1990s and are life expired. Hence, they have been entirely replaced by a new product since this was filmed. A product over ten years old would be considered thoroughly obsolete in the aviation world, so to fly on one twenty years old was certainly a novelty.
