Actually I find this really helpful to understand the reality of what happens. Of course there are horrendous stuff that happens, and certain rhetorics magnify this. As a young child we used to go to France from the UK on the ferry and I’d see the haulers doing live export and my parents told me about it. My reaction was heartbreak.
However, now having been a vegetarian for multiple decades, probably as an eating disorder to gain control in my teenage years and as a cultural reaction to the way British culture sees animals or rather refuses to see the natural process of meat consumption. I know believe in educating myself in agricultural practices.
@the milk man big up on how you talk about the animals and their welfare calling out for doing certain things because that’s animal abuse. I appreciate this so much. Unfortunately there is a narrative that people working in this industry are psychologically unstable and take it out on the animals. The reality is this happens in every industry to anyone, work place bullying etc. It’s such a value source to watch your videos and see compassion in farming.
Whilst I am currently lacto-ovo vegetarian and conscious of the way those industries “use” animals as commodities, I would like to produce my own laying chickens, and my partner can do the meat chickens etc as that way you can be confident of their treatment

None of those pigs died. I have only had a couple of load where one or two didnt make it. And it wasnt because of getting cold or anything. They were just old and on their last foot.

@@TheMilkMans I would take cardboard into a major producer of breakfast sausage and there was always downers and I'm going to assume that was from heart failure from the trip that's because these hogs were 400 to 600 pounds and the driver would open the trap door and wrap a chain around it's leg and the forklift driver would pull it out and spray paint an x on it's head I was scared for life never seen anything like that before but it didn't stop my love for meat top of the food chain I guess lol

The few loads of pigs I hauled, the rules were so strict about contamination. You had to put plastic booties over your boots before getting out of the truck. The driver was forbidden to enter pig barn. You waited in the trailer as the barn hand chased them up. In Canada. Maybe different rules.
