This was the first of two games during the 1984 high school football season between the then Pacific League rivals; Los Angeles City Section and California state powerhouses: The Banning High School Pilots and the Carson High School Colts. Prior to this game, the Colts last faced the Pilots in the 1983 LA City Section Championship game which ended with a 30-29 score and the Pilots winning their ninth overall 4-A City Championship title. Pilots Quarterback Jamelle Holieway ended the 1984 football season as the 4-A Division player of the year and the City's 4-A MVP.

This is when Coach Chris Ferragamo was Coaching (Brother of Vince Ferragamo) ! I was going to Play for Banning but I Had Moved to Shreveport Louisiana and Played there ! Good Memories !
Jamelle Holieway senior year in high school before he became a legend at Oklahoma.
John Manning and he is still in Oklahoma.
That was a helluva high school football game!!! I can't believe the speed both teams played at!!! There were D1 players all over the field that day, in addition to Holieway, Holt, etc... Today's players are cottled compared to these guys, I know because I played football in 04-08.. These guys were going 110% every damned play!! Dishing out some hard hits!!

When I played for Banning in 83, Narbonne wouldn't even scrimmage us because they were some sorry ass oversize Pop Warner busters!!! Would have enjoyed letting our JV or Bee squad kick their Varsity's ass.
Yup that's right. Carson's Bee squad would use Narboone's Varsity for practice.

Wow this is history, Back when Banning would beat Narbonne 55-0 every year. Now things are different but Narbonne cannot gloat because we both know you and Serra among other are grabbing the best ballers from Carson

I played for the pop Warner Carson colts & Serra and narbonne coaches would be at our practices and games tryna recruit already. That’s why narbonne got caught up cheating god don’t like ugly. @EM-cz4rd yes they were ... I have a lot of family from uncles , cousins my pops and etc who all played for carson and won championships there. Either you went to carson or banning in those days that's why they were so good, narbonne can't cheat with inedible players anymore so they back to average. Carson is 8-0 this year top 2 in the City..
