Charles, with two to three pre-season games passed by, Nwaneri should surely have secured his spot in the first team. Looks so comfortable with the senior players. I don't know what future lies ahead of him but surely he needs to deployed either in the No.8 role or backup for Saka. Nichols by far is the breakout youth for me at this point. Really solid defensively. Needs to be tested more physically in the senior level but along with Skelly and Heaven(and possibly Salah if he does not get loaned or sold), these youth at least needs to be given time at the cup game.

Hi Charles, on Ruiz vs Merino, surely the big difference between the potential deals is wages - Ruiz at PSG is on roughly 3x Merino’s wages at Sociedad. Merino for me is a guy you’re bringing in on favourable terms to contribute to the squad & provide value over the next 3-4 years - same profile in terms of deal and squad role as someone like Trossard. We can afford Ruiz of course but it would be a higher wage and more expensive deal overall. And therefore a bit riskier if it doesn’t work out. I say Merino’s the shrewder deal but I love Ruiz as a player. Head vs heart. Who would you prefer if you could have one deal or the other?

On the wages he's on, realistically you're signing Ruiz as a starter for the next 3-4 years. And I think maybe we should aspire to better. Hi Charles, I said two seasons ago that MA would always have in mind the invincibles season and would want to do the same in his managerial career. That he is targeting maximum points says the same. I'm sure he looked at Leverkusen being invincibles last season and that made it even more of a target for him. I think we can do it with the players we have, but we need to be even more clinical in front of goal (yes we scored loads, but we missed way more that should have been in the net), the system has to include all players including those on the bench so that it's still our game when we do subs, the tactics have to be right based on the opposition, the substitutions must be impactful, and the rotation has to be way better so that star players do not run out of steam before the season is finished. We need to play such that the referee, VAR and luck are not needed. That is the mentality that MA is getting into the players. There's not much point having a deep squad of top players if Arteta sticks to the same 11 twice a week. We should be looking at Calafiori and all the other players playing no more than two thirds of the games in a season and preferably less.

I'm not a fan of Ruiz personally, I saw him play for PSG quite a few times and whenever I watched them, he did not look very good and I have seen many PSG fans complaining about him. martinelli had a couple of injuries last season its not that his form dropped he just couldnt play and coming on as a sub is not easy he played well and scored a few, what i dont like is aftv constantly saying we should get rid of him really go hard into it, in my opinion hes our best player and theyve been building the team around him more than saka (bringing in older brazilians players and coaches to help him and getting him comfortable living in london amongst other things, saka didnt need it hes been at the club since he was a kid) theres no way that for example a messi or ronaldo get injured for half a season come back not in full fitness and the fans go nuts and want gotten rid of and replaced, you dont do that to your best and youngest player, aftv are a joke i feel like headbutting the wall when they attack him so ferociously!!

dont think trossard is a feasible midfielder, especially with partey instead of rice just cause of the physical capability
