Facts! But unfortunately the code will only come with consistent deliberate education. Those that know the code are on it, but it's still not enough of us because we don't control our education systems or mass media. And social media is easy to infiltrate so people don't know who to trust.
If something is not relevant in your day to day life, your mind tends to drift away from it. Its the sad truth but hopefully people can stay awake long enough to make real changes.
Symbolism is all they are willing to give us and they are confused because that has been enough for us- UNTIL NOW! Take the cloths off and give us reparations.
But what does reparations entail? I’m not attacking your post but wanting an open conversation on this demand. My thoughts on the matter are based on rectifying the damages from red-lining. Since homeownership is wealth building, reparations should include impactful programs/federal funds to purchasing homes no matter a black person’s economically standing. When majority of blacks owning their own home, that improves their neighborhoods.
This System will never be change, research and understands how deeply entwined the pieces are. The system needs to be destroyed and that is when change will come.
To me, that kente cloth mess was indicative of a complete and utter misunderstanding of what we want. Like, it's meant to symbolize coming together and cultures connecting closer and healing together........but they don't get that what we want is for them to do the opposite - fall the fuck back and leave Black people the fuck ALONE. That means fall back on the over-policing and prison industrial complex, but also on gentrification and jacking our culture to enrich their own aesthetic. We don't need to get no closer to y'all, what we tryna get is some DISTANCE!
Calvin, what do you think about these little black girls in the mix at the protests? I agree that kids need to know and understand what's happening...but these BABY girls don't need to be on the frontline, in my opinion. Also...facts! The kneeling and the BLM on the streets are just to placate the angry masses.
Exactly 💯! Those babies should not be there. Protest are dangerous! And those dangers can adversely affect those children. Children don't always take away what we as adults may want them to learn from a situation.
@@ladybluelotus Yes. I, her dad and school have talked to my seven year old about what's going on, but I will NOT have her down there at the protest. Too much danger. There's much we can do without risking our lives.
@@kristineilochi4615 because protest have worked so well in the past. NOT. What worked...the bus boycott. MONEY... agreed...these protests are futile and dangerous...especially for children. People have completely lost all sense of discernment...if they ever had it.

I guess I am just as illiterate on democracy as the next person but can someone explain to me what is the use of politicians joining protests? You protest when you have no voice. But when you vote people in to office you have a voice. Your representatives have the power to vote for your interest. So what is the use of voting when politicians vote against your interest but have the audacity to join a protest? And why are people grateful instead of calling them out?!
Photo op. It's the Bill Clinton issue. He went on Arsenio and played the sax. He said he loved Motown and Aretha. Had her sing at a function. Black people started saying Bill Clinton was the first "black president". After he got elected, he passed the three strikes you are out crime bill, and that devastated the black community. Same with Obama, he gave us something to be proud of as an image. That alone was worth the price of admission but he pulled a Bill Clinton. During the recession, Barney Frank, a senator who knows what he is talking about proposed giving the bailout to the people and they could pay the banks off. Obama and the senate said nope. Gave it to bankers destroyed a significant portion of black and brown wealth from which we have not recovered. Bombed the hell out of Afghanistan killing kids and innocents, did no prison reform and skated.
Alot of these people are trying to save their jobs, and "be on the right side of history". You never seen one police officer call out so many other officers on this grand of a scale. Well besides those 58 idiots in Buffalo.
All that this faux symbolism and pandering is doing is showing the world that they understood us the first time. We knew what were talking about and they knew too. They just didn't want to do anything about it.
That's true isn't it. All I see are political postures, their self-interest driving. Is like they're ok putting on feathers to dance with the "pow-wow" intertribal song...which is not how you do that one kind of inclusive song (all peoples welcome but is called out to invite). Looks insulting imo, to play cultural understanding overnight. I don't know how this African tradition works from which country but if it's not immediately clear to the general public, then how is that where they should jump in? I may be missing something?! In MPLS the politicians incl a city council member was, at first, so rude and adamant how far and which type of adjustments were within possibility, but changed tune so fast after the people made it real clear... and that's alot of work to have to do, to hold em to each every negotiated item, sustained... If we don't all keep it up just that hard, keep watch, they'll go back to their original position, undo it quiet while distractions run amok for something else. This is just to secure the essentials in order for long-term changes in time. They know! The People gotta get through winter first, and the power elites got that factored into their mindset!!! I swear that's why talk is so cheap right now. I knew it had a connection!...but I found evidence of it specifically mentioned today - their plans are running off Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) tactics tried and tested.... Watch how they'll change faces soon. But true friends will stay true, no matter what!

I know one thing, I never have to go to a theater or a movie house ever again. I've seen enough acting (BAD acting at that, I'm talking daytime soap opera BAD) to last me several lifetimes; in several forms. I am however, happy to see Black people not just in America, but worldwide, come together and begin to have conversations that lead to understanding and healing. 💖✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿. I hope our people are being careful, because how do they really know if these people are really real and genuine. Thank you, Calvin you are hitting the nail on head, because we can't celebrate something that hasn't really even come to fruition.
So true, no more symbolism!!! I feel like if people aren’t talking about reparations for USA descendants of slavery as the end goal, they aren’t having the convo right. If I don’t hear reparations I get bored of the discussions like... “hear we go. History about to repeat itself in 5.4.3.2...” lol
I love your food metaphors. We still have to clean the house ,clean the kitchen ,get our guest list and figure out if anybody's allergic to anything. Go to the store , prep the food, fix the food, serve the food and then do the dishes. Then we clean up after everybody leave. Then we can celebrate a job well done.💜 Tangibles!
Calvin as a new subscriber i totally agree with you. But as a 61 year old African-American, i have seen a lot - your right stay the course. What your seeing is the push forward all thought many may join our journey we all will successfully move in the direction we want to be. If you know what i mean.
Ecclesiastes 8:9 “All of this I have seen, and applied my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, during the time THAT MAN HAS DOMINATED MAN TO HIS HARM”. -Psalms 37:10-11 “Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.”
AMEN! I have been on this train for over 70 years and one thing that give me hope, This time is that I have never seen this reaction around the world before. I know we got a very long ways to go, But It would really be something that my Great Grandmother was a slave and I live to see the Black man free in America. That would really be a dream come true.
Everyone needs to stay on code. What is needed is longterm convictions, pensions removed, Permanent policies, laws, legislation for police violence with REAL repercussions in place as a start.
Can we also talk about these companies donating to NAACP and Urban League instead of hiring more black people or supporting legislation to protect black people?!
You are so right Calvin!. Often times are people get too caught up in mongolism, and many are good with just that. This is the reason why our community is at the same level for so many years. Many of us are so gullible, and take anything they give us as gold. I am originally from Ivory Coast West Africa, and this is an issues there as well. Blacks and Africans believe just about anything the white man shows or tells us.
David McAtee's death really got me. He was a BBQ restaurant owner who attended a Breonna Taylor protest and was killed by a National Guardsman. They had his dead body in the street for 12 hours!
Your message rings true everyone is celebrating before any changes have happened ! Laws need to be changed now for the black commmunity enough is enough
You always have the best analogies Calvin. It’s very difficult getting a significant amount of people on the same page on what the ultimate goal should be. I’m a bit disappointed seeing my generation (millennials) have no real idea what racism actually is.
Thank you for your honesty 💕. I wanted to make a sign with a package of skiddles, a babydoll, a 20 dollar bill and my kids did not want me to they said that people would not get. I do and Anthony with knowledge would. I think these kinds of symbols matter.
You hit the hammer on the nail! Thank you bro for always dropping gems of valid points! Time after time, we see these patterns in which many get fooled by the symbols of African American progress only to find out that we are in the same place that we were before. Symbols are expressions of progress that are only for a moment, not tangible gains. Symbols DO NOT reflect our position in American society. We're getting lot of pseudo support and we cannot forget where we are. You are truly one of my favorite RUclips bro. Best of luck!
You are so right about this. I am sick of seeing celebrities and wannabes who never had anything to say about the movement make sure their participation is noted and posted. Then I think who am I to judge when it took this to get me out to my first rally and March. And I have a son locked up! We definitely do need to donate if we are not going to actually participate. We had a BLM rally in Utqiagvik, AK where I live. This is the most northern city on the continent. I was so happy to be able to March. But there were no cameras to document it. What did it even mean? I came away happy for the chance to express my rage and was excited to see the others recognize our struggle. They did give a handout with the 5 demands to end police brutality and organizations you can donate to. I am going with The Bail Project. The fight is long way from over.
Don’t be anxious. Be active. “Anxiety comes from worry without constructive action.” -Neely Fuller, Jr. Also, as a hint: At current levels, protest is “whack-a-mole.” Protest without direction, leadership & organization has NO negotiation potential, as Dr. King, Malcolm X, & Frederick Douglass understood. “If there is no struggle, there is no progress,” & “Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never has.” These very current protestors MAY be protesting something, but at the endgame, What do they expect the Outcome(s) to be?? If they aren’t clarifying, they are directly causing confusion. Confusion is useful in controlling, dominating & mistreating people. Law is only the 5th area of human activity in the CounterRacist Code System. They STILL have 8-9 other areas to address, acc to the Code. Have they said “How?” Has anyone else?
Overly Verbose, yet You are very GOOD at Covering All Bases of your Subject matter. CHOICES MATTER & YOUR VOICE MATTERS! THANK U FOR DOING YOUR HOMEWORK & BEING ABLE TO CLEARLY ARTICULATE ALL ASPECTS TO LEAVE NO STONE UPTURNED! TIP OF THE HAT, YOUNG BRO!
Excellent piece. People have been attacking me because I've been saying this exact same thing - don't fall for this bullshit. But I'm told I'm negative and we have to start somewhere...
“If I have to convince someone that my life matters before engaging, we are not going to enter negotiations. We are going to fight. I don’t desire nor need my oppressor to see me as equal.” -Carlos Henriquez-
You are you. Thank you for being authentic. I love the train analogy. So much clarity, so easy to understand. The underprivileged are not allowed to get off the train. So real and so sad.
I cannot believe it took me so long to discover there were genuine commentators out here like you who know how to deconstruct the narrative? I appreciate your voice so much❣️ When I saw the Kente mess I did not know what I was feeling and bam, you put it in words. Keep the videos coming❣️ Much love and appreciation from 🇿🇼
I have different intersecting identities but i relate so much to being traumatized every day and not being able to let your guard down Every day it's new things and then people have the gall to say you're negative
Omg!!! I’m so glad you said it! I thought the same thing! Later for the symbolism! They look ridiculous to me! It’s all about optics. That’s it! The struggle continues! Don’t stop the fight people!🤜🏾🤛🏾💪🏾✊🏾
Excellent commentary young warrior!!!! We are a long, long way from what we need accomplished. We are very much in war mode, no soldier celebrates anything until total victory is won. We cannot afford to be distracted or deceived by symbolism with no substance. I love that you have and are allowing books, especially our history influence you. This is how we learn who we are to help propel us for. You’re right, Iet’s make the cake first! By the way, your train analogy was solid!!!
I’ve seen so many feet being wash. No! What we need is real policy change! It’s so refreshing to know that I’m not the only one who’s been feeling like this and who can see through the bs! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Calvin thank you for your commentary and commitment to keeping the real issues at the forefront. It's so easy to see the symbolism and forget the bigger picture at hand. We haven't won anything yet. What about policy changes or reparations!
You said a mouthful of my thoughts! I couldn’t find the words to express my frustrations. I’m ready to sign petitions for State laws that can really change the world. The protests are great and everything, but we still have a lot of work to get done for the AA community.
I wish people would be more alert to this! Just because they “took a knee” does *NOT* mean they’re on our side! Don’t lose sight of the message because they *LOOK* like they’re in agreement!

You are definitely speaking nothing but #Facts, I truly appreciate you for speaking with a level head...TY
David McAtee's death really got me. He was a BBQ restaurant owner who attended a Breonna Taylor protest and was killed by a National Guardsman. They had his dead body in the street for 12 hours!
“Cha cha slide” and “feet washed” took me waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy out! 😭 truthfully, thank you for this brilliant analysis
Your message rings true everyone is celebrating before any changes have happened ! Laws need to be changed now for the black commmunity enough is enough
Right! We tooo quick to forgive and loosing focus on the goal
This video was perfect. I’ve been trying to explain this to so many people who just don’t get it
I been saying that
Forget the statues what about the
How they are going to train future police... I care about legislation!
You always have the best analogies Calvin. It’s very difficult getting a significant amount of people on the same page on what the ultimate goal should be. I’m a bit disappointed seeing my generation (millennials) have no real idea what racism actually is.
Exactly it changes the narrative and people partying let’s keep the pressure on
Thank you for your honesty 💕. I wanted to make a sign with a package of skiddles, a babydoll, a 20 dollar bill and my kids did not want me to they said that people would not get. I do and Anthony with knowledge would. I think these kinds of symbols matter.
Don't listen to your kids make a million of those signs and send me one
I can't get off the train, untill we release from these chains....simple and plain......💯
These photo ops cause nothing but side eye with me.
Thank you for calling out this foolishness.
Though I agree that symbols are meaningless, I do so enjoy seeing them bow to us.
It never has.”
These very current protestors MAY be protesting something, but at the endgame, What do they expect the Outcome(s) to be?? If they aren’t clarifying, they are directly causing confusion. Confusion is useful in controlling, dominating & mistreating people. Law is only the 5th area of human activity in the CounterRacist Code System. They STILL have 8-9 other areas to address, acc to the Code. Have they said “How?” Has anyone else?
Ready to work towards something. Thank you, Calvin
A lot of laws (like making 911 calling be a hate crime) being passed are also virtue signaling. They could just ENFORCE the laws that EXIST!
You are speaking nothing but FACTS and TRUTH. Don't get distracted people!
“If I have to convince someone that my life matters before engaging, we are not going to enter negotiations. We are going to fight.
I don’t desire nor need my oppressor to see me as equal.”
-Carlos Henriquez-
Stay safe!
You are you. Thank you for being authentic. I love the train analogy. So much clarity, so easy to understand. The underprivileged are not allowed to get off the train. So real and so sad.
You are exactly my mood right now. The fight is FAR FAR from over!
It's not over yet brothers and sisters, we STILL got work to do ✊✊✊✊✊! ALL HANDS ON DECK to eradicate these injustices burdening our people!
You are always with the facts 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍🏿
The kneeling pose is definitely a freemanson symbol.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯💯💯💯 “the work is not done!!”-Calvin Micheals
Well spoken, articulate and spot on as usual.
Yes, the work is not done.
Definitely need to get that TRAIN analogy out to more people!!!
Thank you!!!..this is what I'm saying.
Thank you! Completely agree...
I cannot believe it took me so long to discover there were genuine commentators out here like you who know how to deconstruct the narrative? I appreciate your voice so much❣️ When I saw the Kente mess I did not know what I was feeling and bam, you put it in words. Keep the videos coming❣️ Much love and appreciation from 🇿🇼
I have different intersecting identities but i relate so much to being traumatized every day and not being able to let your guard down
Every day it's new things and then people have the gall to say you're negative
With Brilliance such as Yours, I Can Remain HOPEFUL AND DILIGENT. I was BORN the Year of EMETTE TILL.
Omg!!! I’m so glad you said it! I thought the same thing! Later for the symbolism! They look ridiculous to me! It’s all about optics. That’s it! The struggle continues! Don’t stop the fight people!🤜🏾🤛🏾💪🏾✊🏾
Keep up the good work and addressing the undercurrent of placating and symbolism without change that is happening!
“ Keep your eyes on the price”
I have been waiting to hear from you :)
Yes! We need to maintain some level of sobriety in order to ride that metaphorical train to it's destination. Thank you for sharing this wisdom.
I agree 💯 with your opinion!!! Thanks for voice!!!!
I wish people would be more alert to this! Just because they “took a knee” does *NOT* mean they’re on our side! Don’t lose sight of the message because they *LOOK* like they’re in agreement!
