This is the most heart-wrenching, and best scene in the entire game. First time I played it, this scene had me balling like a 3 year old that just dropped his candy.
though i could do without the dwarves being here, because they honestly seem like a bizarre waste of time, i love this scene for what it accomplishes. throughout the entire experience up to this point the player wouldnt really know for sure if witchers really do feel emotions to the fullest extent or not (assuming of course they havent read the source material). it could swing either way depending on how your geralt has acted, but really nothing has been a direct confirmation one way or the other to my knowledge. only hints here or there. geralt is so hardened and jaded that he seems like a machine at times, and our brief glimpses at other witchers would seem to validate that this is a universal trait for witchers. this scene is a direct answer to those questions. as if to say: "no, geralt is a person and he feels ALL of this." his initial devastation when he believes hes lost his daughter is so fucking potent. no words. the grief communicated through his movements alone is not something an unfeeling killer could mimic, let alone even understand.
I honestly hated this part. Those stupid dwarves are so annoying. The fact that Geralt doesnt just break the door open and get rid of the dwarves is ridiculous. After all he's been through to find Ciri, he has to escort some dwarves and one of them keeps falling asleep... So annoying. Geralt would just break into the house and kill the dwarves keeping him from Ciri. Oh but some locks are too powerful🙄 And after all that, they steal his boat... forcing ciri to use her powers.
I think the Dwarves don't even need to be there lol, we arrive, open the door, and this scene, so it doesn't drag out a bit As for the Wild Hunt coming, it's very random too, since they can only sense if she used her powers, but i think they did it that way since that might drag out even further if they travel by normal means
here's something cool ruclips.net/video/6TEFrKyI6og/видео.html
Meanwhile netflix Vesemir: "Lets sacrifice this little girl so i can make more witchers."
