@nd-xx9cd try watching the game dude at least. Singletary fumble on a big drive up 12-9.
Mr.Banks and The Big Papa appreciate the realness of the show and your views. For me I'm a football first and Giants fan 2nd, watching this game defensively only difference between this game and first game is you had offensive mastermind and established program in vikings vs first yr program in their 2nd game and a guy Daniels who is great athlete and league hasn't learned his tendencies yet . Personally I'm not surprised by what's going on because the personnel the giants have really don't match Shane Bowen, I had hoped he would adjust his personnel to the roster but he hasn't. The Commanders not for penalties could have blown us out, the Giants offense much improved in getting Nabers the ball, need to get 2 or 3guys rolling, Robinson and Slayton. Defensively when you are playing a Cunningham, Vick or Lamar Jack's you have to put an athletic db like Belton to spy him, put Simmons on Ertz, have Pinnock and Nubin in coverage and blitzing. Biggest issue with the Giants is pass rush lanes discipline, yes you are playing off coverage but you have protect the sticks and both sides of the ball don't rally to ball to tackle or block. Defense strategy kind of baffles me , why aren't we using 3 dlineman out of base, you are getting DeX beat up and when this team actually gets good in future he'll be too broken down. Why aren't we rotating in Jordan Riley, who is similar to DeX in that he causes a traffic jam and is big body that pushes the pocket and helps the finesse edge rushers we have get pressures. Looking at personnel for 3rd down or vs passing game, why not run an ameba front you can have DeX at Nose, Kayvon matched in Tuck role over a guard with Burns and Azzez on outside with Isiah Simmons with Bobby O playing middle or moving around pressing the gaps, you can run stunts, cross dog delay blitzes and drop certain guys to spy or play middle or shallow quick read zones, like this stuff ain't complicated. The Giants have enough talent to play better, the Ne Patriots and even some old 80s giants they just played with chemistry as players and coaches just used what they had but they maxed out what they had. When I look at coaching, it's like playing cards your not going get winning hand but that don't mean you can't win, not seeing winnig gameplans and adjustments from this coaching staff. Watching Dex at certain points in games I'd like see him turn it up, he needs to get counter moves to his power but at sametime he's not being set up to be free by coaching staff. I feel bad for players, I hate seeing guys talents getting wasted especially when these guys put in offseason after offseason and they come in and coaches are not letting be themselves in a productive structure. Why draft a Hyatt, not use his speed on same side as Nabers, you have Hyatt blocking instead of bringing in a Bryce Ford Wheaton, create roles and give guys opportunities to use their talents in winning roles.
I'll say two things. This game, like so many others over the past 6-plus years came down to not being able to get stops when you need them. The poor run defense and not being able to force punts against a rookie QB on a number of 3rd-down-and-long situations is just baffling and just exhausting to watch. Not Giants football like we know it to be. That has to get fixed, full stop. As for the kicker--the only thing I will say is, if Gano warmed up and said he could not go, it seems we would not have been prepared for that either. Based on certain reports, it sounds like they only dressed 52 on Sunday. Seems like you could have elevated the kicker for a game you've got to win.
178 yds 2 td's 0 int's 0 fumbles in 22 minutes splitting production with 95 yard Singletary! Jones balled out in about 10 minutes of qb play if you be real!!!
I'm willing to consider a defense of Daboll/Shoen regarding the kicker issue, but on the merits nothing you guys have said here is convincing. Gano said he was good to go, sure, but every coach knows a player is going to say that unless he's on his death bed. And we know from observers that Gano did not look good at all during pre-game warmups. The smart, safe move was to activate McAtamney on Saturday, but having failed to do that, there were still other things Daboll could've done, like having Gillan handle kickoffs to reduce risk of injury to Gano. Yes - *maybe* the hamstring injury is entirely unrelated to the groin injury, but maybe not. And Gano is pushing 40 and has been injury prone for a while now.
Exactly. It's such a basic, easy, non-debatable call. The offense scores points by (a) running/throwing and (b) kicking. Playing an entire game without one of two basic point-scoring methods is absurd.
You missed the most important point.....Every position on the team has some depth in case of injury. If Gano was never injured and was in 100% great health every day for the last umpteen years The Giants still: 'HAD NO PLAYER ON THE TEAM THAT COULD KICK IN THE EVENT THEIR 10001% HEALTHY KICKER GOT HURT DURING THE GAME!" They had no backup for a position who's number one purpose is to score points!!! Totally baffles me.
It's all well and good that Washington scored no touchdowns, but didn't they have a large number of red zone penalties? How much was them beating themselves?
Not yet!! The locker room is gone!! We will see, he shouldn't get fired today, but lets see in a few games, he doesn't have coach vibes like Wink had!! He will go if this become a norm, Im sure Mara care about his fans if they stop showing up in the stadium that's pays him!!
Carl I could listen to you talk football all day it’s a long season and if anybody cares to remember this is a rebuilding year yeah we all want WINS if we go 7 out of 8 or 6 out of 7 over the last 8 games of the season we play really well it’s a rebuilding year patience
Forget about the kicker. The defense lost the game. Commanders never punted. Had 7 offensive possessions and scored on every one of them. If any of them were touchdowns, it’s a blowout. The defense couldn’t get off the field. They had third and long several times and failed to stop them. Every possession the Commanders marched right down the field chewing up the clock. Several stops and we win
Injuries are often connected. Favoring one part of your body will often effect another. The Giants looked better. The Coaching really didn't. I think most Fans don't think Daboll is the guy. Throwing stuff...losing his cool. And ..lost badly in front of all the greats and the great Coaches. Enough losing. Something has to change. We can brag about what? One playoff win? We should expect more
53 man roster. 53. Not 52. Cannot possibly explain that away. If the longsnapper or punter was injured and there was any question on availability, there is no doubt they would have added a contingency. OH BUT WAIT ITS THE GIANTS! Last week the punt returner was injured and they sent him out there, he gets hurt WARMING UP and they have no punt returner. This is not an isolated instance. It happened last year. If your kicker has a groin and you have the new rules in place, let the punter kick off so Gano doesnt have to risk blowing his groin chasing someone. Cmon man, yall know this is fn bush league. This is a fn clown show. Just no other way to put it.
He was wincing in pain during warmups and was on injury report on Saturday. There is no excuse what so ever to not have had a backup especially when this is the third time something like this has happened. Didn’t have punt returner last last week and we had same issue with gano last year with jets game. This team is about to enter another rebuild and I can’t believe it lol. Giants are cursed and we’ve become the laughing stock of the league. Besides panthers we are literally the worst team
Carl, do you know whether Coach Daboll is coaching the players the way you are describing it to us? We have no sense of anything other than an angry , defensive man about to explode
BS. Bpth Bob and Carl company men running cover for the obvious failures of managment. Carl " I dont know". Well, the fans know. Daboll effed up.....again.
They’re going to have a crappy season. We’re going to get Arch Manning and then set the league on fiRe. I mean who can we beat? We’re probably losing our next 4 no matter how you look at it. We’re headed to 2-15, 3-14. And whether we end up with Arch or not (we will), we’ll definitely be in contention for whoever is considered the top 1 or 2 QB in the draft. Jones is gone next year, this is the peRfect time to suck and suck badly so that we can get our QB of the future. I mean where are we going? To another 6-11 season where we do just badly enough to not get the draft pick we need? I’m good. Don’t want anymore of that. Now Bob, I beg to differ. Chasing someone down for 10 or 20 yards shouldn’t result in a popped hamstring. That comes from not being in shape, not stretching properly and above all, not hydrating properly. People are going to say you’re towing the company line because that’s what it sounds like. You understand the game as well anyone, so you already understand the facets that are involved in being prepared to play in an NFL game. This isn’t Utopia. Sometimes you may actually have to do something that isn’t your usual job description such as chasing an RB. That shouldn’t be a play that forces you out of the game. They’re not built for it? Not true. They most certainly are. They’re not uSed to it.
If gano didn’t have an injury history it’s not that big of a deal. With that said he does have a history so therefore if a roster spot is available why the hell not have an insurance policy? The defense I understand is a work in progress but my god it’s not like they went against the 07 patriots you gotta get off the field at least once for god sakes.
Guys, COME ON... the logic tells anyone, and you don't have to be a doctor, if a guy is hobbling around the day before, and his LEGS are what are needed for him to do his job, they had options, like a kicker on the PS. If he had a shoulder or hand issue, its different. He's KICKING with his leg, anything less than 100% should have been removed him from game. BESIDES this was second time in 2 yrs, he lost a game because of a kicker. The week before, he went with an injured punt returner and the replacement muffed his first punt. At this point you could have removed the 3rd QB, Guys stop protecting Daboll. He hasn't won enough to stare down anyone, he's not exactly Bill Belechik
-Could care less about the kicker issue. Not even worth spending time on. Like this was gonna be some huge game to win and high expectations for this season. C'mon lets be real. -Redskins are a rebuilding bottom tier team with a rookie QB and Giants lost which i expected and hope for a top 5 draft pick. -DJ still stared down the first read about 85%of the time and that was mostly Nabers. Not gonna fly against real teams. -Redskins DC ran mostly cover 1 soft zone and redzone some cover 0 man 1v1 on Nabers which idk who thinks that's how to stop him. -Nabers is without a doubt a top class baller so far but i don't expect this against top tier teams and it's not going to be his fault. They are going to get pressure in DJ's face which Redskins didn't do consistently. They are going to double cover Nabers, roll coverage, man press him, and make the QB and other wrs beat them. They can't have this guy ripping up defenses all year without trying to lock him up. He's still gonna get his yards and more so if he can get a competent QB. -Nabers drop on 3rd down don't mean shit. it's his 2nd game as a pro and he was the whole offense. He knows how to slow down or sit in the window of a zone. Has great situational awareness and seems to be able to already know how to read defenses and schemas so far. I'd rather him do this drop now and be hard on himself rather than him be all high on himself and then do that in a playoff game down the line. He's young and learning and that prob will never happen again so it's a nothing burger as well. -Pinnock is solid and not much concern for him -Edge rushers need to get their shit together -I wouldn't mind Daboll getting fired end of season if they had Belichick in hand for next season with full player and personnel control. We need a real guy in here to take full control and turn this franchise around and Belichick would be that guy. Great show. I would rather listen to you guys do the game on the radio rather then the FOX guys any day.
Lets not blame the players, i get it stay loyal to mara till it goes to dump!! Its not about that, its about leadership, we lost our leaders and thats all... We will see!!
You make your own luck and the Giants have been creating an awful lot of the bad version by never being ready throughout last season and this one so far. Bad luck and exactly what you don't want to happen, happen when you aren't set up right. It happens in all sports when teams have this property.
The reason the defense can't stop a rookie QB even once is because they are handicapped practicing against the putrid, crummy, lousy, bum, Daniel Jones in practice
You’re wrong about the groin and hamstring. The body will compensate when you’re weak in one area. Your musculoskeletal system is extremely complex. He was favoring one muscle group over another without knowing it and injured the overworked muscle group.
@@StephenCardilloNC Medically cleared to play maybe he shouldn't tried to chase down a RB.Fact is none of you are smart enough to make the comment that should be made.No team should ever have to lose a game if a kicker gets injured the league needs to allow an extra kicker for every team every game independent of the 53.
@@beefoneeto 1. Two years ago Tua was also medically cleared to play after suffering an obvious concussion then a week later he suffered another one and had a severe neurological reaction. 2. Schoen and Daboll knew he was hurting with enough time to elevate the practice squad kicker to the active roster. They didn’t use the options available to them.
178 yds
2 td's
0 int's
0 fumbles
in 22 minutes splitting production with 95 yard Singletary!
Jones balled out in about 10 minutes of qb play if you be real!!!
Nailed it. The defense was god awful on 3rd down. They would have won with a kicker but that’s inconsequential, the defense lost that game.
29:10 what's the worst about that play is that Simmons has help to the outside but still over pursued and juked out of his shoes.
Come on man , you have 3 quarterbacks, you can activate a kicker and have him there just in case the groin injury flares up?
THIS WAS THE GET RIGHT GAME!
It's always something with the past and present Giants coaching staff I'm sick of it...
We’re back to giving positive feedback on DJ after less than 200 pass yards. This is how you know these two are mouth pieces for the organization.
They're not, even in a losing effort he played a better game yesterday
Jones and Kayvon played OK they weren’t great at all. This is the commanders we’re talking about……..should’ve been a field day
So what bob is saying is Gano is a dumbass for trying to chase down a RB. Its very fitting he plays for the giants.
They should've had the the other kicker ready
Carl, do you know whether Coach Daboll is coaching the players the way you are describing it to us? We have no sense of anything other than an angry , defensive man about to explode
BS. Bpth Bob and Carl company men running cover for the obvious failures of managment. Carl " I dont know". Well, the fans know. Daboll effed up.....again.
Papa yes ..Banks tells it like it is .
Two high energy guys right here
Carl, Daboll did not show leadership when he answered, “ I am not a doctor ,” to th question about a back up kicker
Daboll is coaching and conducting himself like someone who actually wants to get fired.
What a sad state of Giants football.
Stop with the sugar coating. The Fans have had it...
Let me guess Carl? Kayvon played great right?
brutal loss
I can’t keep watching the giants if they keep playing the way they are. It makes me so angry I start taking it out on the people around me LOL
Isiah Simmons getting shook set tone for the game. JD would have thought twice if he would have blew him up
WTF ? it's ancient history already...we have a new kicker...
Compete? They pay these guys to compete? I thought the goal was to win football games.
-Pinnock is solid and not much concern for him
-Edge rushers need to get their shit together
-I wouldn't mind Daboll getting fired end of season if they had Belichick in hand for next season with full player and personnel control. We need a real guy in here to take full control and turn this franchise around and Belichick would be that guy.
Great show. I would rather listen to you guys do the game on the radio rather then the FOX guys any day.
Zzzzzz
Can't win when other team doesn't punt at all
😂 man said they can't stop the Giants, yet we were the only team that punted yesterday....stop with the propaganda
This. Team. Is. Hopeless.
No plan B in place for kicking game. On daboll.
More Glazing Horrible coaching and poor defense against the run
The reason the defense can't stop a rookie QB even once is because they are handicapped practicing against the putrid, crummy, lousy, bum, Daniel Jones in practice
You’re wrong about the groin and hamstring. The body will compensate when you’re weak in one area. Your musculoskeletal system is extremely complex. He was favoring one muscle group over another without knowing it and injured the overworked muscle group.
You have no clue about that.Stop playing doctor.
@@beefoneeto Well I do have a degree in kinesiology so yeah I’m pretty sure that’s what likely happened.
That’s not on the rules that’s on them. 3. You have no idea how smart anybody is that you’ve never met. Lastly, the coaching staff failed and the GM failed. They need to be sent packing with their $160 million QB whose “good days” are throwing for 178 yards and 2 TDs against one of the worst teams in the league.
@@StephenCardilloNC You musty have a degree in stupidity comparing a concussion to an injury that Gano got running after a RB on a kick return.Stop wasting my time .
Looking forward to next Sunday and more excuses
Bottom line is the Giants just are not very good at winning NFL football games.
Love you guys but Giant fans are not stupid we know bad coaching and horrible player management. As a former player you also know bad coaching gets players hurt. Riddle me this how many times has the coach but someone who has never returned kicks in his entire careet back to field punts and kick offs Dabol does that's who. Who stands infront the NYC and tell us that Tommy Deviote gives you a better chance to win in the NFL that Tyrod does. He has a history of horrible perssonal moves
Forget the kicker. This team stinks and that’s on Joe Schoen and Tim McDonnell
We have been cheering for a bad team for a long time. Enough...Enough!!!
Ok..I didn’t think you guys were being mouthpieces until Carl said Thibodeaux and Burns “showed up” and were being “disruptive”!
Sorry Bob and Carl, but you lost the narrative!
Not being able to get off the field is not being disruptive or showing up!
Papa and Banks have never chosen their words so carefully EVER!
The Giants choked! The coaching staff choked!
They lost the two easiest games they were supposed to win!
What carl and bob are carefully NOT saying is that the coaching staff isn’t doing THIER job.
And they’re leaving out completely the horrible competition they played well against BUT STILL LOST TO!!!!!!
And the Giants D didn’t “hold them” to fg’s.
The Commanders shot themselves in the foot with penalties every time they got into the red zone.
Very disheartened by this video because you could always count on Bob and Carl for brutal honesty.
Now they just sound like two more Giants employees
Pushing the company line.
And you know they know it just by how many times Papa had to deny doing just that!
And Papa’s final shot to anyone who can see they’re doing exactly what they’re denying doing, “You don’t know shit from shit, so thats why “Carl is explaining” because we’re to dumb to understand the nuances.
What a bunch a bullshit!!!
Can Bob take the dip out of his lip when he does the podcast
These guys shill for the Giants org. If Carl carried he would come out of retirement and show these young bucks how to win
The guy is 62 years old!
@@johnkomarinetz1101 is that iti? Straight DAWG!
This whole organization STINKS!!!
Look these 2 are not going to be real with y'all they are company men they only care about giants narrative
I love how these two are okay with blaming the coach directly, but never the bum starting QB in year 6. I wonder why??
So the bum Qb lost that game yesterday?? Dude stop it. We know you don’t like the guy but put blame where it needs to be. Smh
@dannyduds1058 cause this L wasn’t on the QB. Are you naive? Also how about catching the ball! The wideout dropped a pass on 4th and 4. You must have a hateful obsession with the QB. Get help.
@@atrain3707the guy needs to watch another sport. I am not the biggest fan of the QB but the L wasn’t on him yesterday.
The O played good enough to win , The D kept Washington OUT of the End Zone Good enough to Win , NO More Excuses
Worst Giants podcast on RUclips and it isn’t even close. Bob and Carl are completely incapable of being objective and constantly make absurd excuses and deny reality. Done watching this show, so much better honest content out there folks, check out Talkin’ Giants, The Entertainah, One Giant Podcast, and Big Blue Banter, light year ahead in analysis and reporting.
