How to Sync Your VW Key

In this video I go over what to do if you changed the battery on a Gen 1 VW key fob or it just isn't recognized all of a sudden by your car. It will work for any VW gen 1 key fob not just the Toureg that is used in this video. Hopefully this saves you a unnecessary trip to your dealer and a couple bucks in your pocket.

Thank you so much, was doing brake work and car ran perfectly fine all day, until I lowered the car and tried to move it and the car started then shut off suddenly. Your video helped me resync my key and start it up again. You’ve earned a like and sub my dude 👍

Any idea how to sync a 2015 toureg bc my fob looks different than that one and you cant access the lock button if its in the ignition

it does work on my 1998 volkswagen passat 1.8 Turbo B5, got me almost lot of trouble like the car got thowed back home after I just change the headlight bulb. This Car is so sensitive removing any socket on this car like headlight socket or any other socket, or changing the battery or flat battery will trigger the immobilizer you just start then dies right after, This re sync on keyfob will do the trick

Great video I have a vw polo 2004 just removed the battery then putting back car will start then stop immobilizer is on and it's not unlocking the doors EPC light on check engine light on engine oil on removed the oil drain sump really dirty oil filter clogged do just waiting to buy all service kit service then buy new key

Key was washed then dried out. Car reported key not in range. This worked first time for 2011 Tiguan.
