I love this thing. Ive used it both hot and cold. When outside temps dip below freezing, the ice up heater will kick in and keep the tub water from freezing. I use it to recover from workouts, especially after leg day. Also incredible for stress relief and other health benefits. Easy to setup, easy to maintain, easy to get cold and hot. This setup is also super easy to keep clean and move around if needed. Just drain and move. 1 person job. Customer service has been great. I had a couple of pump/waterflow issues that the team worked with me directly on, and got the parts i needed to stay cold.
Holy crap it’s David! What’s up bro! I never thought you would have your own RUclips channel ! Insane I’m in the market for one of these now and I’m watching your review. I remember when you gave me the Chinese acupuncture recommendation for Mr Lee in nypr. Good to see ya brother!
I've had my cold plunge from ice up industries for over a year now. Beyond the fact that the product is awesome and the price is ridiculously affordable.... The customer service is legitimately the best I've ever seen. It is hands down the most accessible customer service you are ever going to deal with. If you have an issue you can pick up the phone and call them directly and they literally pick up the phone. If you leave a voicemail, they're going to call you back in a matter of minutes. You don't have to deal with some random dude for India who doesn't know a thing about the product. Their warranty is legit. If there's an issue with your system, they're going to move mountains to ensure that it's fixed or replaced. I literally can't say enough about these guys. They're f****** awesome!
I have had mine since September, and as long as something warranty related doesn’t go wrong, they are helpful. I purchased the heater portion because it was part of the system I planned to utilize. My father is an HVAC guy so when the heater portion started kicking an error, I also had him look at it. We ruled out anything outside of the unit being the cause and the only resolution I get is “we will refund you the heater portion because it is just too expensive to send you a new unit.” It’s a warranty for a reason, if you cannot fix it, replace it! I have been getting blown off by the or one of the owners Luke for the past 3 weeks… up to this point they have been helpful, but I want a fully functioning unit and purchased (and waited 3 months for it) for a reason.
Wow no way! That bums me out. I’m sorry you’re going through that, they are usually super helpful. I can relate on the heater problems, almost every cold plunge I’ve reviewed with a heater has had problems.
How about those of us who live in a four season climate -- Can it be left outside on those nights when it gets below freezing, or does it have to be stored for the winter?
Thanks again for another great video. I placed my order a couple weeks ago and have been anticipating this video to get your feedback. I too love the look of the stairs. I honestly was gonna go with the lay down tub from them instead but the stairs actually made me go with this one lol. It'll fit in beautifully on my deck.
I’m very interested in this one but I’m curious about the height capacity. I’m 6’ 3” and 240 lbs. I prefer the barrel style versus the lay down style of ice baths. You seem like you are on the taller side, are you able to dunk your head easily. I’ve been watching your videos about Ice Barrel but don’t really want to go DIY on it if I don’t have to. I’m thinking this could be a good option as long as it seems roomy enough for a taller person. Thanks for the videos!
Hey David, messaged you on another review comparing polarmonkey to plunge. But a friend of mine said he can’t afford one of those but he showed me this one in the tub form. But he is interested of the lay down style. Do you think this is a good option compared to edge? That chiller looks huge though compared to edge. I appreciate your input because you have put hands on these things! Couple questions, he wants to put this inside his basement, (also up north can’t have this outside In subfreezing temps, is there a worry of those tubes coming off? There is no threaded tubing coupling to the tub so that is a concern. Do you think there is any other concerns that you could modify yourself? The couplers look plastic too so risk easy breakage? How long is the tubing? Thanks happy chilling!
This looks like a great product cheaper than an ice barrel, with DYI then you have to buy the chiller and everything else, these companies at some point have to bring their prices down to compete. This looks like something I would definitely be interested in purchasing
Quick question - the one thing I didn't see was a drain plug or some way to attach a hose - so how do you empty this if you need to? I plan to have it in my basement so I need to hook a hose to it to run the water out the basement door.
hi thanks for video, any thoughts on how to clear the e6 error? I cant seem to get all the air out of the filter? it then after a few minutes shoots out the e6 error, which relates to water flow from what i read.
Realy love your honest reviews, continue doing that! Question, im realy considering this setup, but cant deside if im going for the 0.6 hp og 0.8hp or 1 hp chiller, i dont have a very warm climate, and the tub will always stay in the shades, and i think the thermo isolation in this tub is good. Do you think that 0,6 hp will be enough? And what is the main difference between the different chiller sizes? Is it just the waterflow that is larger, or is the water cooler? The pump bigger? Thanks!! 🙌
Thank you for the love and support! With Ice Up, you only have one chiller option and its 1HP and its a beast of a chiller. You will be happy with this option and hard to beat the price.
Thanks 😉 The reason for my question is that I have the upperunity to buy the plunge by itself and can choose which chiller i want to use. That's why I'm wondering if 0,6 maybe is enough. I won't heat the water up so often.
When you’re using the hydrogen peroxide, have you tested your water to see where it’s running at to see if it’s that much of a difference to use the other chemicals that a lot of companies recommend
How many gallons does it hold? I just got mine and I'm trying to figure out the correct amount of chemicals to put in. Like the sirona oxidizer and sanitizer.
Hi, I live in Florida also, Miami. Have you had it set to the coldest temperature? And does it maintain throughout the day with this chiller? That’s the biggest thing I’m having trouble with when researching all these, have to spend extra money for the stronger chiller. I see this one is 1 hp, so how is it holding up with the temperature throughout the day in Florida? Is the lowest 37°, or 45°? On the website it says 45°. Thanks in advance.
55 is a Great starting point. Stick there and work youself up from :10 seconds to :30, then try for 1:00 and then 2:00. The goal is over 2:30. My current go to temp is 44 but i do is every day. You got this!
I really like the setup. It is very simple.I have the same setup. I keep having an issue with brown goo forming on the waterline. I am told it is the Sirona product. I am thinking about doing a drain and going full food-grade peroxide, as you recommended. Thanks for the reviews and info!
Absolutely! I really don’t like the chemicals. I use HP but recently started adding a few drops of the (Ice Barrel) water stabilizer and it’s keeping my water crystal clear.
I have a question about the priming. My outlet off the chiller is shooting what looks like a jet into the hose. It looks like air bubbles but when I asked ice up they said “The air coming out is from the ozone tube, which diverts the water and creates the air pockets. Totally normal even when the ozone system is not running.” Does this sound right?
Howdy, thanks for making decisions easier. In your other review of theirs with the tub, I saw you said its not insulated. My plan was to get this for my basement. I know I can expect a little sweat but is it wise to get the tub or barrel for the basement? Thanks in advance!!!
The base is not insulated but I don’t think too much sweat will be an issue. If any. Mine is outside so it’s hard to tell. But when I had the Edge Tub inside there wasn’t any sweat that I can remember.
Hey David- not sure if you have answered this question further down in the comments but I know you talked about the 1-year warranty that it comes with. I am considering purchasing this set-up and there is now a 3-year warranty available that include the cold plunge and the chiller. The cost is $299- what are your thoughts on purchasing the extended warranty after using it and experiencing the quality? Thanks!
Great video! Couple questions: If I intend on plunging almost every morning, would you just keep the water set to the desired temp 24/7. Or would you unplug or set to a more efficient temp for the rest of the day and set it back down before bed so it’s ready the next morning? And also: I plan on putting it in my garage. Do you see any reason I shouldn’t have it on my epoxy floor, or should I put it on top of a horse stall mat to reduce water accumulating on the floor? Thanks!
Great questions! 1. I would leave it on 24/7 at set temp. Doesn’t pull much power and the chiller cycles off automatically when the desired temp is reached. And you always have the water where u want it. 2. No issues at all. I’ve noticed no condensation on the inflatable plunges.
@@DavidMausJrI also meant to ask if you thought it was alright to fill this thing up from my water softener/house filtration from the garage instead of using a hose filter attachment
Hey David- are you planning on doing any follow up content on these guys and the products you have from them? Curious how everything is holding up and if you've talked with them lately? Thanks!
How's the tub holding up, if you still use it? (Since you review several) I've seen people claim the pump doesn't last long... But generally you're to hear the worst and bad online.
Really like your channel. I orders the ice up chiller. Was very excited. After waiting 3 months my order was cancelled and I was told I need to reorder and pay a much higher price because their costs went up. I’d think twice before ordering. I’m going to order look elsewhere
@@DavidMausJr. Thanks for your reply. I liked the idea of a chiller without all the bells and whistles. I’m looking for something that just gets the job done. I don’t need all the WiFi and other features. I’m looking at the DIY approach with the eco pro you reviewed in a different video.
For sure! So no issues, the thing has been abused being at the house we are renovating. Power was out for months and I had the same water/filter from setup and the water immediately got cold and clear from the chiller and ozone built in. I was impressed. The outside of the inflatable did what all inflatables left outside in Fl do, got very dirty. The chiller has had no issues except a little rust on a few of teh screws holding the fan screen on but all in all I would say its a great option for the money. Love the size of the barrel. Will do an updated review soon!
@DavidMausJr That is good to hear. I had an issue with the pump in mine. Ice Up Industries made me take apart the chiller to find the issue. Then they sent me a new pump, and I had to swap it out myself. No where in the warranty do I see any wording that says I will have to troubleshoot and repair unit on my own.
What are your thoughts on purchasing these inflatables from alibaba? Had any experience buying from there? Any recommendation on your favorite chiller?
i know people who have, its a little bit of a gamble. Loads of cheaper ways to do this on your own, i prefer to let the companies do that so i can contact them if any issues. I really think the active aqua chillers are solid.
Just wondering what are the top 3 chillers as there are so many out there and cant decide on which to get. I cant get the active aqua in my country but am looking at the all-in-one types from China but hear they have a high failure rate or the C1 chiller from Khione cold therapy.
Why is there only a one year warranty? I feel when I research these tubs, the warranties are so slim on them and it makes me wonder. I know this brand is less expensive but I would feel better with at least a 2 year warranty for the pump. Also, how do you fix the pump if it breaks and it's off warranty? I don't see parts available on the site. I know 2400$ isn't a whole ton of money, but it's enough that I would be upset if this malfunctions after 1 year and no parts available. Thanks for your time.
That is a valid concern. The team seems to be in it for the long haul, but if you have those concerns there are definitely other plunge companies out there with longer warranties to check out. But most that offer chillers/pumps are around 1 year. The Plunge offers up to a 5 year warranty but its more money.
It would take a few hours, depending on the temps. None of them are fast enough to really use for contrast therapy unless you had two, but the best is to get a sauna
Just to fill all the fines in the pump and chiller with water so when you flip it on the pumps not whining looking for water to turn. Some other chillers have one and they are usually a problem anyway. That’s the difference between a submersible pump being bulletproof and the inline, exterior pumps. They all need water to work.
I was about to order the Edge theory Labs till I found out about ice up. I also spoke to Corey and he let me come try the plunge in person (I’m local) . Great guys and way better value then edge theory labs, however I’m sure you’ll be happy with either
Besides the price point being cheaper with the ice up, my other deciding factor was the lid and warrantee. The edge has a flimsy thin canvas looking kinda lid. The cheap nurecover I'm using now has the same type of lid and it holds water every time it rains. So much so that I had to by a big rubber ball from Walmart to stick inside on the top of the water to make a dome in the lid 😂. It works but it's just one more thing to deal with when getting in and out. The lid on the ice up is solid when inflated so that was real nice. The other thing for me was the extended warrantee. After talking with Cory and getting the rundown on the warrantee, I added that to my order as well. Nice to know if I ever have an issue, they take care of it.
That’s good to hear that there’s no condensation with these inflatable‘s. But I’m curious how the insulation is on these with the barrel alone without the chiller? I’m considering just to get the barrel alone straight from China and use ice to start and eventually add a chiller
When you're setting up a new plunge add some bags of ice - that will chill the water faster and not make your chiller work so hard to get the water temp down
@@DavidMausJrappreciate the reply. Great video. One more thing, where do you get your replacement filters? I’m assuming Amazon has them but I’m not sure what to type in to find compatible ones.
Hey David! I know I asked you this question over Instagram, but I figured I would post it here to show appreciation for how well-rounded this post was. So, I'm about to buy a chiller from this company and my biggest question is this: at its absolute coldest, what is the water temperature inside the tub versus what the chiller displays? I figure if it can keep the water in the 30s in Florida weather then it will work well for me here in Atlanta:)
Dave, you are going to have a different cold plunge for everyday in the month. Let me know if you want to get rid of one. LOL. Keep the reviews coming.
Long-term reviews are important. Inflatables have more negative reviews than molded plastic or metal tubs- mostly concerning leakage at the drain. This is concerning if the unit is placed in the home. Here in the North, we have 5 months of sub-zero weather, so outside placement is not an option.
Absolutely! Thats the beauty, theres many great options and some are better for the colder climates, while some a better for the warm. I love being able to review them all and give my viewers the info they need to make a well informed decision.
I didn’t time it all the way down but I was filming it for a little over an hour in the middle of the day in FL and it was going down about 5 degrees every 30 mins. Pretty fast.
How strong is the material? My worry with inflatable is that I have cats. Would I need to keep it outside away from their potential claws if they could accidentally puncture it
Its very thick and strong. Not sure if you have ever been on one of the high quality inflatable paddle boards or gymnastic tumbling mats, this is similar. I have a dog, a cat, and chickens running around and dont even worry.
@@DavidMausJr Thanks, David! And thanks for all the content. I’ve been wanting to add a cold plunge and sauna to my home and your video’s definitely help a lot. What do you like more, this or the Ice Barrel with DIY chiller? They’re very close in price
Yes sir! I have had a few people send me pics and videos of setting theres up recently. I do know they quickly made some changes to their chiller tubes from my recommendation and that added to the wait time, and moved warehouses, etc. I hate the long waits but i am confident it will be worth it. Hope you get yours this week my friend.
Waited 3 months for my two cold plunges. Requested updates was told 4-6 weeks, then was told it was a minimum of 8 got to 12 and asked for a refund. Order if you want a hypothetical iceless bath but wouldn't hold my breath this team is completely unprofessional and you can get yours in 2 weeks on DH gate for half the price (where they are probably getting theirs but using cash to float their business in mean time.) adding your own logo etc.
I apologize about your experience my friend. There was a long wait for most of us. Tons of options out there just happy people are experiencing the benefits of cold therapy.
Absolutely I'm a big advocate for this type of treatment. Wish I had just ordered somewhere else so I could begin the treatment asap outside of local health spas who offer these baths. Plenty of reputable spots for 1-2 week shipping I have now found after Ice up industries flop I just experienced!@@DavidMausJr
CALL ME CRAZY BUT FOR THE SAME PRICE AS THE ICE BARREL 300 THAT'S INSULATED AND MADE OF HARDER MATERIAL THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME..ITS A NO BRAINER..ICE BARREL 300 FOR ME..THE PRICE OF THIS INFLATABLE IS TOO HIGH
You do know that most of the chillers available in the USA for cold plunging also come from China. What they do is find a distributor with a design that does what needs to be done, they make tweaks, they produce, then they sell, and warranty the products. You are right, i use to think the same thing until i tried it myself. It takes a lot of time and work to get the products right before production.
Second thought if you’re having problems with your heater and they’re not helping you fix it you should remove all the videos that carry this brand that’s pretty gross of company to do that to somebody specially if it’s only a few months old it seems like they might’ve knocked off the company in San Diego
Try to keep comments kind please. 🙏🏽 there is more to running a company than that as I’m sure you may know. But there is also always cheaper options for consumers to get products.
I love this thing.

Looks dope. Maybe one day. I'm still at the frozen Tupperware chunks into a barrel stage.
Whatever it takes my friend!
THE CHILLER IS BETTER BUT THEY DO WASTE MORE POWER..I RATHER USE 5 TO 10 LARGE ICE CONTAINERS INTO THE PLUNGE WHICH WILL COOL THE WATER

Do you think this chiller is better to buy with the filter and pump all together rather than the eco plus 1hp and pump separately??
Hard to say. My diy setup had ran 24/7 for over a year with no issues. Time will tell.

For sure that’s the one downside currently for IB. I still love mine. But the insulation from this is strong. Water is at set temp mid day here in FL.
So it's like a inflatable paddle board? Strong enough to lean on it and sit on it? Or is it like a bouncy house flimsy and stuff lol
Yes just like the inflatable paddle boards, very firm.

If I intend on plunging almost every morning, would you just keep the water set to the desired temp 24/7.
@@watts4reel756 For Sure!!
Hey David- are you planning on doing any follow up content on these guys and the products you have from them? Curious how everything is holding up and if you've talked with them lately? Thanks!
Yep! Working on it next few weeks. Lots of travel right now.
Thank you- excited to see it!
Oh no!! That’s super frustrating to hear. Great product just insane wait times. Other than price, what else did you like most about Ice Up?
@@DavidMausJr. Thanks for your reply. I liked the idea of a chiller without all the bells and whistles. I’m looking for something that just gets the job done. I don’t need all the WiFi and other features. I’m looking at the DIY approach with the eco pro you reviewed in a different video.
@@pbegyn Solid idea! DIY is pretty easy to do
Can you give an update on this product? Are you still using it? Is the chiller rusting? Have you had any issues?
What is the difference between the plunge and tub versions?
I actually have both now and will do a comparison video this week! Stay tuned.
Just wondering what are the top 3 chillers as there are so many out there and cant decide on which to get. I cant get the active aqua in my country but am looking at the all-in-one types from China but hear they have a high failure rate or the C1 chiller from Khione cold therapy.
They do unfortunately. This setup with Ice Up has actually impressed me if you can get it where you are.
How fast does it heat and cool. What if you wanted to go from hot to cold? How long would it take?
It would take a few hours, depending on the temps. None of them are fast enough to really use for contrast therapy unless you had two, but the best is to get a sauna
@DavidMausJr just wondering if my wife used it for a hot tub how long would it take for me to be able to get it back to a cold tub.
How does oxygenated water keep the water clean?
Binds to anything not O2 and destroys it (basically)
hey david can u explain the “no primer” thing and why we should shoot water into the tubes with the hose?
Just to fill all the fines in the pump and chiller with water so when you flip it on the pumps not whining looking for water to turn. Some other chillers have one and they are usually a problem anyway. That’s the difference between a submersible pump being bulletproof and the inline, exterior pumps. They all need water to work.
Can you buy just their chiller? And who is made by?
I believe you can! They have them on their site and you can use my discount code on that too
I live in Pa, can I unhook the lines in the winter time, so they don't freeze up?
For sure!
do you know if there is a way to drain the iceup units? the tub as well
For sure! Keep the chiller on and pop the tube (that goes back into the tub) off and let it drain the water for you.
How will the vinyl tube hold in the in the Arizona heat/sun?
It’s made for it. Very well my friend 🤙🏽
How does it compare the Edge Theory Labs? Im trying to decide between those two.
Thanks for the replies. Iced up also has ozone and I don’t think edge theory does. This is looking like a better value
@@Mike-es5fjsame issue I currently have with my stock tank. Thin Amazon cover. Keeps leaves out but if it rains. 🤷♂️
Both are great! Very similar, it honestly depends on your budget and style. I like both and at the end of the day, its just cold water...
That’s good to hear that there’s no condensation with these inflatable‘s. But I’m curious how the insulation is on these with the barrel alone without the chiller? I’m considering just to get the barrel alone straight from China and use ice to start and eventually add a chiller
i would be curious to know how that works too.
When you're setting up a new plunge add some bags of ice - that will chill the water faster and not make your chiller work so hard to get the water temp down
Absolutely a great idea if fast cold water is what u need
Thanks for the video David, what's the process for inflating?
Super simple. Like a blow up paddle board. Takes no time and it’s light too. Totally! Feel Free to subscribe if not already. 🫶🏽
@@DavidMausJr did that last year. I've been using the diy chiller w/rubber made trough you've done vids on since last summer.
Ordered mine. Looking foreword to more reviews on this.
Can you find out more info on the type of inflatable the barrel is. Drop-Stitch?
For sure 💯
Might be dumb question, but does the chiller realease ozone into the air? Have read not good for your lungs.
It goes into the water. (Don’t get in while that’s on)
What connections do you need to connect the hose to this tub?
None it comes with what it needs and super easy install
Nice looks good, question tho, how much electricity does it cost if you use it on a daily basis?
Not as much as you would think. It’s like a mini fridge. Pretty efficient
They tend to say less then $1 a day
What is the maximum distance you can set the chiller from the inflatable? I've seen this option and is one I'm very interested in.
The tube is simple 1” tubing and you could have it about 4 feet away with what is comes with. But you could always buy longer tube and go further.
Hi, were you able to try the tub version?
I have one
is it insulated?
With air
Do you feel like the hydrogen peroxide you use is good enough to keep the water clean even after getting in after sweating (sauna, exercise) ?
Yes I do but using the ozone every week or so is even better.
@@DavidMausJrappreciate the reply. Great video. One more thing, where do you get your replacement filters? I’m assuming Amazon has them but I’m not sure what to type in to find compatible ones.
currently i havent changed the filter and i have the filters they sent with the unit. Ill try and find the best option on amazon.@@ValorUlysses
The way I ran to the checkout page!!! Sadly no shipping to Canada. Can they make any exception for extra fee?
I’ll ask!
Shout out to Ice Up!
They are a great team
I’m in love with this product 😍
me too :)
I will get a temp gauge and check asap!
Could you do a video comparing this one to your polar monkey? Thanks!
Totally! Feel Free to subscribe if not already. 🫶🏽
Is the barrel BPA free?
I would think so, but not sure.
Dave, you are going to have a different cold plunge for everyday in the month. Let me know if you want to get rid of one. LOL. Keep the reviews coming.
You’re not wrong. Lol
Great review.. was trying to decide which to get the Barrel or the Tub.. chose the Barrel after seeing the size
Thank you 🧊
You’ll be happy with it!
@@DavidMausJr I sent you an email about this..FYI
@@professortimday Thanks Tim!
Hey what are the best plunges for cold climates?
Might have to say the new ice barrel@@NPow94
How long did it take to get to 39?
I didn’t time it all the way down but I was filming it for a little over an hour in the middle of the day in FL and it was going down about 5 degrees every 30 mins. Pretty fast.
Thank you🙏
You’re welcome 😊
how quick is the temp dropping . Let say you start at 50 and start cooling how quick is the tempertuur go down every hour? thanks
Starting at 50, you can drop it to 40 in no time. This chiller is pretty beastly.
Hey David! Hope all is well, I sent you an email about our previous conversation, and I can't wait to hear back.

Great review - Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Should would have been great if you would have gotten inside this thing as a reference for a 6' tall person!
There are a few follow up videos on this where I am in it, tons of room.
They’re very close in price
damn $2400 is crazy. Thats a $600 chiller
Has anyone received a complete unit yet (other than David Maus)?
Yes sir! I have had a few people send me pics and videos of setting theres up recently. I do know they quickly made some changes to their chiller tubes from my recommendation and that added to the wait time, and moved warehouses, etc. I hate the long waits but i am confident it will be worth it. Hope you get yours this week my friend.
Another great video I just can't get into that Barrel with my physical conditions.
It is a little high but so many great options!

@@briandelaney8909 ive got their newest product in hand and shooting a review on it. Very nice!
@DavidMausJr cool deal. I am trying to work on a colored tub. Would the new chiller attach to the system we have on version 1. Keep me posted.
@@briandelaney8909 Unfortunately no its a completely new design. Just set it all up this morning and its pretty awesome! Video coming soon!
I’m surprised they haven’t made a chiller that goes to 33 degrees
Not many out there get that cold
Pretty sure the Morozko is about the only one that'll make it's own ice.
37..AND THROW IN LARGE ICE CUBES..IT WILL GO DOWN TO 33
Waited 3 months for my two cold plunges.

@@DavidMausJr it’s all good brotha!! I do the same thing!! Thanks for the review! Got my eyes on this one for sure as a more affordable option.
Its barely any water. Just empty it every few weeks
Easy peasy
Weird that’s he’s saying he designed this when the same set up is available from China.
Second thought if you’re having problems with your heater and they’re not helping you fix it you should remove all the videos that carry this brand that’s pretty gross of company to do that to somebody specially if it’s only a few months old it seems like they might’ve knocked off the company in San Diego
owner is such a BS artist, all they do is get an Alibaba manufacturer to slap their logo on and resell with a giant markup
Try to keep comments kind please. 🙏🏽 there is more to running a company than that as I’m sure you may know. But there is also always cheaper options for consumers to get products.
