  • In 1986 Toyota grappled with a number of technology challenges to keep in the game in off-road racing.
They'd won the Championship title for Stadium racing 3 years in a row and wanted a repeat. Cal Wells and PPI motorsports worked to make it happen.
They concentrated on a new automatic transmission and suspension set up that wouldn't debut until 1987.
Drivers Steve Millen and Ivan "Ironman" Stewart were committed to winning with what they had been given.
Millen and Stewart deliver a 1 -2 Championship win for the Stadium Cup.
