He's still looked young in big 4 tour, I mean the other guys on that tour looks much older than him lol. He started to look old around Super collider era, most likely due to neck surgery and lyme disease.
Benjamín Ignacio Bruna I kinda like Marty's live rendition of it better than the original. Jeff's solo on set the world afire is better than this one imo.
@@milanbursac8286 yeah i found out. The song was also about Dave girlfriend. Im not sure if the song is for both or only a section is dedicated to Cliff.
well, they were all better technically, absolutely. however I love dave's nasty-mean phrasing and intensity. Dave has more balls than anyone as a lead player imo.
Bence Patyi woah calm down there spergy take your meds. Doesn’t change the fact that Flying V is also a general term for that style of guitar. Not everybody has to know the difference
Its kind of the same with every other band member that's been in Megadeth and gone. They get a couple years of playing the song in its best form, then the line up changes and the song kinda sucks live, it's almost like groove juice for Dave's vocals. This is the best performance I've found of this song, I checked out one from 92 and from 2010, not even close to this.
They were clearly in their prime here. Although it took Marty and Nick to bring their best incarnation. Awesome show anyway, one of their best for sure.
One of the most interesting metal songs ever. Highly sophisticated rhythm changes and tonality. Never been that much of a Megadeth fan but this song always gave me the goose bumps. Exceptional lyrics, which is also highly unusual for a metal song.
The "time has a way of taking time" section is seriously one of Mustaines most impressive rhythm sections and I've been listening for a too long... He is playing a line that has around 12 different power chords change around the whole fretboard, and his singing is NOT keeping rhythm with the guitar which is seriously hard to do if you aren't proficient especially in this situation. Many people pay their respects to Holy Wars, saying how impossibly impressive it is to sing and play his guitar work but I beg to differ. Holy Wars is managable, it's a bitch but THIS is a whole 'nother beast.
This is the only song i listened to today on repeat after remembering how on me and my partners 2nd year anniversary said how he has had better girlfriends whilst on a date and apparently today is the day she died and i cant help but remember all the times ive been compared to someone and how theyre always better than me, how many of my past partners went off with someone else, this song is the only thing keeping me from breaking down into a suicidal mess, i can't believe i got campared to a corpes on ojr 2nd year anniversary and she's still and always will be better than me
Yeah, sorry, but I'm not much familiar with Megadeth's early members. I mean, all the other solos, Chris Broderick nails every single solo, but this one is tricky because of the 'scream' with the floyd rose bridge. No one seems to do that like Jeff did.
@@krafgeetar4013 he surely did an amazing job! Chris did play it very well in his last tours and it seems like the secret is to try and play the harmonics in a simpler, direct way. It was the way I found to play Jeff's solos.
in my darkest hour is my all time favorite megdeth song off so far so good so what! and I just got one of the shirts I heard this song when megadeth played boston the end of last year and hadn't heard it performed in some years we also got set the world on fire thats my second favorite song so far so good so what! I really hope that Dave will continue to play these songs at future megadeth shows because I never had the chance to see the early Dave Mustaine years peace sells and so far so good so what! or Rust in Peace!
News flash Burton's death was the inspiration for this song, but the lyrics are not directly about him, as the song is about remaining true to your friends and being there Jeff was one step away from a glam rock band his look/style

These are the best lyrics Dave ever wrote. Imo that is saying something.
Cody Wilson read the lyrics for angry again
Thats pretty good too

you know, in my darkest opinion, maybe only jeff that could nailed that solo really good, but still... its just in my opinion
Well I think he did write it haha. So yes, I agree

Tight performance. Daves parts are actually really fun to play and Jeffs solo was really quite good
3:12 is honestly my favorite riff it's soo fun
Devil's Island? The person in charge of that kind of things on that concert really fucked up
I laughted so much when i saw that
He got all songs wrong
that song at that time was not yet released
They were clearly in their prime here. Although it took Marty and Nick to bring their best incarnation. Awesome show anyway, one of their best for sure.
Chris and Gar all the way bud! They were more unique players then Marty and Nick.
@@rogerparsons2474 considering Chris & Gar had played together for years before, they had a special chemistry seen in no other lineup
Gar would've given Dave Lombardo a serious run for his money had he sobered up. He knew improv, and had swing.
Dave's biceps has greatly improved since back then, other skills and talent remain unchanged at a sky high level! Megadeth forever!
Everyone talks about marty, but man o man, Jeff Young is a beast this solo is so fucking badass
Devils island sounds different lol
Yeah man I never hear this version of devils Island before.

Cliff.. its so tragic, to this day..
The person who wrote that Megadeth was playing Devil's Island was probably much more drunk that Dave Mustaine playing at this concert.
4:47 Angus Young style..
Devils Island! fuck yeah! XD
Why is it that even if dave solos aren't as complex or fast, they always sound way cooler and faster
And thrasyer then like the lead
He is one of the best soloers in thrash escene. Most of them are souless. Testament have some epic ones, also almost any Megadeth lead guitar
This is their best performance of this song that I've found so far on RUclips. I think it has to do with the line up changes.
