Apart from having to go searching for the missing link it wasn't too hard (or expensive) to fix.

Pretty lucky to find the part. Only reason I went looking is because the bike shop didn't have it in stock and I didn't want to wait!
Finding my tools was a bonus, I wouldn't of noticed until I needed them.

I was having a great ride until my bike died.
Went back today, it was super slippery. Couple of spills but my bike went great.
I would still be looking at replacing the high pressure filter or at least ultrasounding it. Gen 1 dl650 has the same style of fuel pump assy as my sv1000s. I did what you have just done and 1000 ks later was up for a new pump. Look carefully at the parts diagram online and you will see the high pressure filter. It may be included as the complete housing.
Yes, still a bit worried about the HP filter. I've replaced pump, regulator and strainer and it's running great. Suzuki sells HP filter and regulator as one unit, I may replace it still.
Amazing ride, but scary , braking down out in the forest, glad it all worked out well in the end, I’ve got the same bike but in stock version, scary prices on the fuel pump replacement, I hope mine is alright! Cheers from Geelong! ❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺
One good thing about those tracks is they are fairly short and end up back on a main road.
There's always other bikes and 4wd's around too.
I rode mine stock for a long time but got bored during lockdowns and started modifying it. Great bike!
@@OzADVRider I took the road tyres off, and fitted Nobby tyres, intention of some dirt trail riding but mostly just ride it to work , no time for bush rides, and the Nobby have done over 6,000 klms, which is amazing I thought, yes they’re pretty much bullet proof bikes, mines a 2008 model.

Something was wrong with it to stop in the 1st place. Not sure if it would of ran if I assembled it correctly on the track.
I've now replaced the pump, strainer and regulator and it's running great.
Good ride, riding can fix most of those "got stuff going on" moments...If I was more organised I would think about packing my mocha pot, a brew by the creek seems like a good idea...the day I did Bannermans, found some tracks off/around Old Binks Track..check your maps, plenty down that way.

I much prefer my trackside coffee rather than a cafe.
I've done some exploring around Binks track, lots to choose from. Colbrook reservoir is really nice.
There was some snow in wombat today, we're heading there tomorrow, hopefully not too slushy.

Tracks look pretty good but the ruts are a pain.
So, how are you finding the front tyre? What are you mating it with (as in the rear) 😂
