Exactly. It's ridiculous how many people claim that Kpop all sounds the exact same when that isn't true at all and there are SO many examples that prove them wrong, but they're still so sure that they are right based on bothing smh.
@chuuislovechuuislife EXACTLY. People hear the word Kpop and automatically think that it's just Korean Pop when it actually stands for Popular music and not the Pop genre. I've wasted way too much time trying to explain that to the people who insist that they've heard everything that Kpop has to offer based on one or two songs and just thinking about their claims gives me a migraine. The same goes for the people who claim that all of Kpop is garbage performed by "talentless robots with pretty faces that teen girls drool and fight over" and that they can't even understand Korean so there is no point in listening to Kpop as if the language of a song is all that matters. It's hilarious how many people end up really liking English Kpop songs or Kpop instrumentals and then immediately switch up and hate the songs as soon as they realise that they are Kpop lmao.
@@Kalakeiko on the “robot” comment, I’ve actually seen a lot of non kpop fans dehumanise idols like they are just plastic slaves with 0 autonomy, when they are real people who are just in an (mostly) exploitative industry.

Yes, there are some really exploitive Kpop horror stories of trainees and idols and that not every idol gets to decide over their work, but to claim that every idol is just a slave that has no say over anything and is trapped in an industry that they can't leave or that absolutely everything we see of Kpop or an idol is completely fake and ingenuine is just wrong, but there is no point in trying to tell that to people because nothing will ever change their minds on Kpop unfortunately.

Kpop is an industry not a genre and it has so many groups and sounds that are very different and yet so many still claim that Kpop is just cute and bright bubble gum pop (not that there is anything wrong with pop at all of course, but it's wrong that all of Kpop sounds like that) without even having given Kpop an actual chance to realise how that isn't true at all and that's such a shame, especially since I'm sure that there is at least one group or even a song out there that they would like. I knew some people that always bashed Kpop and claimed that it all sounds the same and is garbage performed by "talentless robots with pretty faces that teen girls drool and fight over" or that there is no point in listening to music in a language you don't understand as if there aren't subtitles or like music is so much more than just the lyrics and emotions can be understood by the melody and sound of the voices alone. I played them some English Kpop songs and they really liked them until I told them that they are from Kpop groups and suddenly they hated them and the same happened when I played them some Kpop instrumental versions and I will never understand why they were so dedicted to hating Kpop so much when they genuine liked several songs until they realised that they were Kpop and it's sad and frustrating.
