I owned both Portola & Velotric fold1 and some other in this category step-thru folders. Here is my verdict since some asked - Velotric Fold1 wins in a few e-bike specs, even if I’m very critical about Velotric for their increased price from $999 to above $1,200. Velotric is UL-certified e-bike, while Rude1Up 0:26 Portola is not, with other words later is a looser based on safety.
Second, even both are Class 2/3 e-bikes, once you shift Velotric F1 to Class 3 the power which every PAS gives you is much more. For example, climbing the same steep hill, I can get to the top on PAS 1 w/ Velotric F1 while with Portola one needs to shift to PAS 3 or 4 in Class 3 mode. With Portola even using the throttle is not responsive when climbing, while Velotric F1 throttle you feel adding on the steep hill, with other words the ride dynamic of Velotric F1 is much better even if both are 750W hub motors and hydraulic brakes, similar voltage battery.
The cockpit of Portola is small for 6’2’’ toll rider while Velotric F1 is accommodating properly tall riders up to 6.2” regardless that I had 400mm seat post with Portola, while Velotric F1 is 350mm seat post. Simply the frame design of Velotric F1 allow taller riders to properly get a leg extension, extended reach on Velotric F1 (the distance between the handlebar and the saddle). Portola doesn’t have adjustable handlebar post which even more hinders the accommodation of taller than 5.9” riders many youtube video reviewers already mentioned about. You already also hurt on youtube about Portola some hydraulic brake lever power cut-off electrical problems. So, in summary without getting to more details Velotric Fold1 wins over Ride1Up Portola.
The presenter of this video comparing Velotric F1 and Kingbull describing one more advantage of Velotric F1 - no ghost pedaling shifting over PAS 3 , typical disadvantage for many other e-bikes like Kingbull.

Have you done review of the Portola Rideup1 ? I would like to see a review of Portola vs Velotric Fold 1. I have a lot of hills that need some power. I have 10 percent climb for about 2 miles. Please let me know if you have any thoughts for me. Thank You !!

I like your style of review. =)
Do you happen to know if the Hitway BK6M is any good? I'm considering getting a bike in this formfactor and at 500$ the Hitway seems too good to be true...
    Cheers
    Edit: BK6M is 650$ BK5M is 500

I haven’t tested it so I can’t give a detailed response. Just at a glance it looks like it will have worse brakes compared to the kingbull and velotric bike. The cables also don’t imbed into the frame so that’s not as nice, and the handlebars look smaller from their pictures.
However for that price I’m sure you’d still have fun on it lol

Is the Kingbull Literider using cadence or torque sensors? It's website doesn't say.
