If you have ever felt lost and hopeless in your life, or full of regret, guilt, and shame around choices you have made, listen up homie because your past DOES NOT have to dictate your future and you can do anything you set your mind to!!
And on today’s episode of Women of Impact, I’m so honored to be joined by the show-stopping Gammy Norris!!
She’s the badass mom of Jada Pinkett Smith, host of Red Table Talk, and has been incredibly open and transparent about her past struggles with teen pregnancy, addiction, and abuse and how she evolved into the INCREDIBLE woman she is today.
Gammy is now 70 years old, has been clean for 30 YEARS, and is sharing her insights and struggles she’s had on her journey so you can change your life for the better, and FOR GOOD!
In this episode, we’re digging into:
    - How Gammy actually took back control of her life, piece by piece, and how you can too
    - Why it’s so important to identify the LIES you are telling yourself that are leaving blinders up in your life
    - How to forgive yourself for mistakes in the past & let go of the shame so you can use them to fuel your growth
    - Why it’s so frikin’ important to not let the idea that you “can’t” STOP you from even trying
    - How to keep yourself from spiraling into regrets so you can let go & actually CHANGE
Now guys, anyone CAN change, but you have to make DIFFERENT choices, change your habits, surround yourself with positive energy, and do the internal work to let go of the shame, guilt and regrets that you have and commit to showing up every day to be better NOW.
You can’t change the past, but you can move forward and make better choices and live a life that is FOR YOU!!

    TRUTH BOMBS FROM GAMMY NORRIS:
"The message to me was that what other people think is more important than how you feel, more important than you."
"Turning your will over to the power of God, turning, you know, letting go of all your friends."
"But what I realized was that I don't even think I really understood what honesty was, if that makes any sense."
"And Rodney and I, we talk about everything and anything, and I had never had that before."
"It just got to the point where, you know, one person is growing and the other person is not, and one person is doing the work that they need to do for themselves, and it just doesn't match."
“I understand that for women, a lot of women don't feel like or don't know how they're going to make it on their own because they maybe never been on their own before."
"I'm gonna figure out what it is. Cause it's little, and I know it's right there, you know? So it's that kind of just persistence and not wanting to give up."
"I try to make sure that there is always positivity around me…and your own energy kind of leaves you open to what you're bringing into your life. If you're vibrating up here, then the people around you, the people and the things that come into your life is going to be high energy. But if you're down here in negative land, then that's what you're going to create. That's what you're going to draw to you."

I appreciate Gammy's transparency. She is still healing. Living in her authenticity. I'm proud of her. At 70, she looks beautiful. Keep up the great work. Gammy you are helping others in the process 🙏🏼🙂

I love how Mrs. Norris speaks from her heart and soul. Free from drug addiction she speaks just like a counselor who is reaching out to someone who had hit rock bottom like she did. I hear the strong conviction in every word she spoke. It is nice to see her outcome as a better version of herself.

I love hearing from mature women. I feel sad when they talk about how dangerous childhood was (and still is) for girls. I am so glad that women and girls today have more choices.

The title is very misleading. She was not single until 62. She married three times!?!?

Respect, absolutely. We are a lot of times really convincing ourselves that some "bad" things what we did in the past, wasn't that bad, however deep down we know that yes, it was really bad. It takes courage and emotional and mental strongness to admit our mistakes. This is the brave thing to admit it, and not denying it. Then of course forgive yourself, because you really can't change history, BUT you can learn from the past to not make the same mistakes again.
It is also amazing that at the age of 70, she is still workout, exercise. I tought that she is like 57-58 years old. I like it that she is aware of the energy thing. When you vibrate on the high, you attract the same high usually, but when your energy is in the low, then you attract the low energy persons. Surrounding yourself with positivity it can only be good for you. Really useful toughts from these two women.

So if you cannot forgive yourself, surrender the emotion of the grief, pain and shame and do that over and over as many times as it takes to get it out and heal your heart because your heart deserves that act of love.

I am so pleased to listen to queen Adrienne's inner view by herself. I love her spirit and believe she still gave Jada a strong ethic and light for life. It was just hidden under so much at the time. I appreciate her honesty and humility, and so, so happy for her. Im taking my time to listen, piece by piece and hope for friendships like that. Thank you Adrienne and Lisa. Peace

Thank you. My has been past years ago. I’m so lonely. Jesus please give me strength I seem to bear the weight of the world on my shoulders as a single mom, I often face challenges that can seem insurmountable especially with raising two children with special needs. I’m trying to balance everything but Lord I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Jesus hear my prayers and please continue to give me strength.❤️❤️
