    Realizing that nothing changed in MW2 despite community feedback wasn't a mistake. The feedback was just saved for the "next title".

      Yeah... I'm almost certain that was the case... and to make it worse... it's Sledgehammer... who always overcompensates with their changes... A for effort, C for execution.

      To be fair, alot of the feedback was just streamers and their drones bitching that infinity ward is sticking to their vision of MW being the more slower tactical focused games instead of the copy-paste low attention span shit the other studio's have been releasing.

      Can't wait to see the cycle keep on keeping on where people want tactical stuff back and another game like 2019 happens again.
      Mw2019 and 2022 was the best time I had since bo2

      @@captainszasz5836 I do appreciate IW for it to a degree. I honestly have an extensive hatred for UAVs and the classic minimap system because I've seen the campers these people cry about exploit them to the most infuriating bounds.
      Like those OMA guys back in the original MW2 weren't hiding. They wanted you to come to them and if you're currently on a streak without a suppressor and Cold Blooded and their teammate pops a UAV... Well say goodbye to that Nuke Streak you've been expertly weaving through the map for...
      Some other changes are really tone deaf though, the 22 Perk system and the massive attachment penalties were massive misses, but I like the maps, especially THAT ONE once I learned how to move around in it because it had a very unique and chaotic combat experience. Something you'd never get from another studio.

    my main issue is the TTK cuz for lower mag weapons and SEMI AUTO guns at a major concern its now gonna be a 4 shoot kill. And for the smaller mag like 5 or 10 on a battle rifle is gonna be slow to take down. Its gonna be about high fire rate weapons. its wishful thinking for a faster TTK. RIP my SCAR H with a 20 round mag that is be a reload fest.

      Yeah, longer TTKs honestly kill the fun of using awful weapons. I don't think the full auto Deagle or the Socom AR will be any fun to use. Heck, it might even make the Slug Broadside downright useless.

    I'm old, I really don't like this sliding, jumping, cracked out, meth head style of movement on the new age of COD. I'm shooting enemies countless times ( and yes getting hit markers) yet they just jump and instantly melt me. it just feels so strange compared to the good old days.

      Same, I don't like it but I don't hate it, I'm in the middle, I can adapt to it but I just miss classic Cod. I miss 1 movement speed and movement type, no tac sprint, no slide cancels just sprinting and a crouch mode, maybe dolphin diving or a small slide. WW2 was a good game, had simple yet good movement, Bo4 is as far as I would go for the whole slide cancel shit. I miss Bo2, MW3 and Bo1 era Cod 😢

      on the other hand, i'm still young and enjoy movement shooters on occasion but this just isn't what i play CoD for. it's exhausting and frustrating and if i wanted this experience, i'd boot up Quake or Titanfall, not CoD

      Mw 2019 and 2022 were very unique, with unique mechanics in it.
      is a shame how people go full hate mode when cod tries different stuff, and they complain that cod is the same every year too
      Only thing i like about mw2023 was it perk system, the only unique thing that doesn't copy from other code before

      @@tacoloco6080 I go full hate mode when a game has bad innovation, doors sure it’s new but it was shit, 72 levels per gun and all but maybe 7 attachments are good…bad innovation. Garbage maps, streaks made from paper don’t help either. So yes I want cod to be just bo2 with better code and graphics😂

    For me at least. MW2019 and MW2022 really only needed 2 or 3 things changed. A spawn system overhaul, a perk system overhaul (MW2022), and unsuppressed fire showing on the minimap.
    While MW2023 fixed 2 of these 3 things. There were also a lot of changes that I either deemed unnecessary or do not like at all.

    At fear of sounding like a fanboy, say what you want about IW, but at the very least they have an specific vision for their games at stick to it no matter what (for better or worse); meanwhile Sledgehammer just caters to the whims of the vocal minority of the community instead of actually trying to come up with something unique for once.
    Like, this game's entire marketing ploys are "DAE remember MW2???" and "this game aint like MWII".
    I kinda wish this game was an MWII campaign, weapon and map pack expansion rather than a "separate" game tbh.

      Infinity Ward keeps their identity, for better or for worse. Honestly feel like nu MWII was stretched too thin and was simply too big. IW wanted to go back to their roots of a slower and more 'tactical' approach like 15 years ago.
      The biggest thing that proves you right is how IW refuses to add zombies to a majority of their games, leaving that for Treyarch. Meanwhile Sledgehammer just crammed in Zombies into MWIII and basically is removing what little uniqueness and distinct differences of the branching games had.

    this TTK isn't going to work especially if they allow weapons like the KV Inhibitor to remain as powerful as it is, and ESPECIALLY if the MWII bolt action marksman rifles maintain their power. the Inhibitor completely ignores the TTK change and brute forces through the bad servers that make said TTK feel even longer

    the fact that they made this game within less than a year or 6-10 months is pretty insane too considering the scrutiny mwII also had, so SHG also had decent shoes to fill, releasing remastered mw2 maps, was actually not a bad call either, but a nice mix of both new and seen maps would've been nice but we'll see.
    I still dont like SHG's obsession with Zero Recoil weapons... sue me, get good, learn recoil patterns, stop looking for youtube videos for Meta weapon loadouts and attachments to be on everyone else's level.

      Recoil is still relatively small in MW2 anyway compared to other games. Then again I play mainly on motion controls now and certain recoil patterns are braindead easy now

    I think TTK needs to be lowered bc there is already alot of holding hands. It was so bad during the BETA especially sniping. Don't get me wrong I am looking forward to the game but it needs some tweaks. Hopefully they do a better job at listening to the community this time around

    Good to see you back, Boom! Personally I’m pretty hyped for MW3. The perk system is honestly the biggest change that I’m looking forward to diving into more.

    Heck, long range TTK in MW19 was significantly slower than MW2 simply because guns had another damage drop off that the OG MW games didn't have. There's a reason I could still body a sniper using aim bot in those games because an RPD is always a 2 shot or always a 3-shot depending on if I was using Stopping power.
    I've never liked slower TTK CoDs so unless they brought it back on par with the previous MWs and the Golden Era games, I know I wouldn't enjoy playing it enough to justify buying it.

      Yep and guns like ARs drop off faster too. It was really surprising to see that most MW2009 ARs have their first damage drop off at like 40m to 50m. That’s just absurd in comparison to MW2019’s 20m to 30m drop off for ARs.
      Then again, the average engagement range was also absurd in MW2009. You can get some seriously long distance lines of sight on maps like Derail, Estate, and Wasteland. You just don’t see that in MW2019 maps as often as you do in MW2009 maps.

      @@mcbonkytron8411 Yeah, everything from recoil patterns, to the switch from hit scan to BV really changed engagement distances. Though I think MW22 made a huge mistake lowering BV. If anything, I think they should have increased so you'd get the hit-scan feel but still be able to limit weapons like the VAL from being entirely broken. Or made it work off of caliber and barrel length instead of weapon class.
      Snipers really weren't that scary in the original since flinching mattered much more for them than a SCAR-H or even the PP2000. There certainly were some guns I'd never dream of firefighting outside of close range, but the layouts allowed for most weapons to work on all maps depending on how you played them.

    I am 30 years old. I was playing MW2009 the day it came out with friends I still play with now. I have almost 70 entire days of playtime--not 70 hours, 70 days. I reached lv 70 10th prestige before 2010 was halfway over. I unlocked almost every calling card and emblem without boosting or hacking on my original account. I made memories I'll cherish forever. It was like the first hit of heroin that turned me into a CoD addict. CoD is the only FPS game I even think is worth a shit these days if you're a "casual" like me. Since then I have been a day one CoD player every single year, no exceptions. The only game I never prestiged in was Infinite Warfare. Every game before Advanced Warfare since CoD4 I hit the max rank/prestige.
    IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON. In 2023, MW2009 just doesn't feel good compared to new CoDs. It is painfully dated in so many areas. When I played the MWIII beta, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. I am beyond hyped for the full game. I pre-ordered the Vault Edition. Calling it a DLC is bullshit and I wish the CoD community wasn't so full of people kissing influencer ass and regurgitating the same talking points that get popular on twitter or X or whatever the hell its called now.
    Applying modern movement, health, perks, equipment to the OG maps is so refreshing. Its literally the best of both worlds. You don't have to be a sweat to be good at MWIII movement. I rarely have a k/d above 0.9 in CoD games and I was destroying people even after I hit rank 30. People massively over-exaggerate how much skill it takes to do that shit, and they also overexaggerate SBMM.
    Yeah SBMM sucks but let's be honest, its harshest critics just want more easy bot lobbies so they can get videos of them gettting nukes or doing really stupid shit but making it look "epic" and like they have skill, like knife-only gameplay for example (which is going to be piss-easy with 150hp lmao, can't wait).
    After putting probably around 7 full days of playtime into MWII this year, and struggling through all the bullshit while Infinity Ward plugged their ears and said "lala we can't hear you" and "we're not budging from OUR VISION of CoD" and all the early-20s influencers LARPing as OGs and trying to gaslight people into thinking MWII was what OG CoD was...
    Sledgehammer feels like a fucking angel descending from heaven to deliver the best CoD in years to us on a silver platter right now, to me at least. I think we're eatin good as long as they don't fuck up anything simple or stupid (they probably will though lol)
    You said people who don't like spawn traps should just "suck it up." Here's my counter-argument: If you don't like what MWIII is shaping up to be, then YOU fucking suck it up because the developer isn't catering to you this time.

    I’m extremely happy with the changes they made, especially movement and TTK. I personally don’t see it as an overcorrection.

    Man I hate ‘movement’ it’s sweaty tryhard stuff only the loud whiney few complained about. Mw2 movement was fine for normal ppl who just want to have fun
    This is like when games cater to ‘E Sports’ crowds. It makes them less fun.

    He keeps clutching onto modern CoD and nostalgia, it's really not worth it this time around. Not because this game is objectively awful, but because there's so many better games he could be playing. Seriously, so many other good games. Off the top of my head: For Honor, Minecraft, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V (imo it improved), Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dead by Daylight, Mortal Combat 1, Hell even Roblox is better, Rainbow Six Seige, Super Mario Maker 2, Splatoon 3 (weep).
    All this talk about not liking spawntrapping you sound like you'll like Battlefield. You have a huge area for approach and map control, larger teams, more options etc.
    Don't die on this poorly designed hill. You're not the smartest in the room because you like modern CoD while everyone else just doesn't. You're clinging to something not worth burning 60 dollars on.
    Life is short, do things worth your time.

    Ultimately you’re right…I’m a fan of what SHG is onto here….
    which is why I preordered the game myself….
    But I can’t help but think that may have been a better way to get HERE than to basically strip out what actually made MW2 good….

    I'm late asf lol but YES I agree with you BOOM. It seems like the devs can never get the movement/ttk right. It's either too fast or too slow, never a middle ground. 🤦🏾‍♂️

    All i know is after playing mw3 mw2 feels like a clunky mess in comparsion. Feeling the maps theyre all new 2 me i didnt start playing cod until cold war so im haven a blast. Feels like a new game to me foe sure

    Are you going to cover recent developments in MW2/Warzone 2 like the Haunting Event or DMZ being put into maintainance mode and not getting new content despite still being labeled as a "beta"?

      Booms not much of a Warzone/DMZ kind of guy so I wouldn't count on a vid about it. Last time he tried DMZ was back in December I think.

    Im not with you on the spawn system. MW2 maps wernt made to be competitive but theres power points and spawn trapping made into them? That sounds competitive to me. Not being able to spawn trap is a great thing. Also random thought, why is MW3 the old MW2 now and the other 2 were their own entries?
    SBMM is an issue in cod with this non spawn trap system sure but the OG mw2 didnt have SBMM as far as i know. Time to find out how these maps play with equally skilled people who cant spawn trap.

      I think the way ge talks about spawn traps is that it was discovered you can do that as the general player base got better. By uncompetitive, he probably means overly exploitable. If you disagree try out Dustbowl or Goldrush

    Why is Motion Blur on?
    Also I do feel like MWIII is the extreme opposite of MWII which is not what I was hoping for either. I would have liked it to be MWII's movement but jusy less restrictive: reload cancel combined with faster ADS speeds, strafe speeds and sprintout times.
    I'm afraid the leaks are true and we will see an AW Season with the EM1 laser returning AGAIN in a game where it does not belong.

    Yo I noticed a pattern y’all remember when the og mw2 dropped and then when mw3 dropped it was like a “balanced” version of mw2 I think this years mw3 will follow that pattern and if it history repeats itself then next years cod should be amazing (hopefully probably not tho😢)

      that argument is BS. non-jetpack-CoD was never about this exhausting, adderall-addled "movement tech" and only a small minority actually wants the game to play like Titanfall at home, so this completely alienates a huge majority of the playerbase. if i wanted to play Titanfall, i'd play Titanfall (and i have, fwiw.) i don't want to play Titanfall when i boot up CoD.

    Either they’re going to have to cut ttk a little bit shorter, or rework the damage on guns, because the shotgun was pure dogshit in this beta, and only seemed to do damage when it felt like it

      I am still confused why Call of Duty and just all modern FPS games in general have a motion blur option, it's completely unecessary and adds no value at all, it's just an annoyance the majority of players immediately turn off the first time loading the game.

      Campers aren't that bad tbh. Just don't go into their box and go around them. Then again I play Dustbowl often, so dealing with 5 stack engies makes CoD campers feel like nothing

    When i played the beta, me feeling bored of the maps after 3 hours of playing is already a red flag for me because of my already known map knowledge.
    I kinda like the new movement, yes it feels too fast at times, and i feel like all the tiktok movement gods are the target audience for this so i dont think itll get fine tuned.
    The one thing i desperately want is the spawns to be fixed and adjusted better than what it was in the beta. I dont want it to be like MWII where i will spawn 10ft from where i died, 10ft from where an enemy is, or spawn in an area where it makes no goddamn sense.
    Weapon balance will be a complete coin toss as to whether or not it will be balanced or if old meta guns from MWII will stay meta and if thats the case then welcome to actual MW2.5.

      MW2 had a faster ttk, I'm sure. So the higher health pool in MW3 should even it out.

      @ItsJustFox I wouldn't bank on a higher ttk to balance out meta guns, especially if the gun is meta for up close encounters. It's the range that makes me worried. A gun that kills in 5 shots at range is going to now take at least 7-8 shots at range, and that's going to feel like shit, *cough cough*M13*cough cough*

      @igreyfox9793 Fair assessment. Personally, Im not too worried about the long range meta in regards to ARs, because most of my engagements seem to happen at mid-range. Around 50m or less.

    MW2 was just boring af. Movement was boring... easily killing 3 enemies cause the ttk was so fast was boring. Most everything about MW2 was just completely boring. MW3 is completely shaking up everything and I'm really hyped for it. Even with the lobbies I was in during the beta where everyone was sitting in a pool of sweat trying to make a CDL team or win COD Champs... it was just so much more fun than anything on MW2

    I can see where you're coming from with your TTK argument but I have to hard disagree. Sure holding hands is very annoying with a longer ttk but black ops 4 had stim shot which got you back in the action immediately (almost) so you can heal up and challenge the next opponent I'm not saying that stims or healing items/perks like quick fix being meta or mandatory at launch is a good thing but if you want to have multi kills the choice is there. I'd rather have actual response time to a gunfight especially at range to try to out strafe my opponent to see who has the better aim vs who shot first. There are many benefits to this ttk as well as many downsides but in my opinion the positives outweigh thr negatives.

    The COD community is so trashy. It's the only FPS community where people are ridiculed for actually having good aim and movement. In every other FPS game that's viewed as a good thing, something to strive for.
    Instead we have bad players like you complaining about the "sweats" and "try hards" who want to put weights onto everyone else because they can't hold their aim onto enemies for more than a couple milliseconds (even with aim assist lol).
    Yes, people try in video games and get good at them. It's not the game's fault you can't keep up. Try going against bots next time.

      The difference between CoD and pretty much every other FPS is CoD has changed so drastically since 2007. CoD use to be a shooter with fast yet simple movement and a sub 200ms TTK. You compare this to most modern CoDs and it’s a night and day difference.
      Because there’s a difference. There’s going to be people who prefer how one plays over the other. Arguing that people who prefer simpler movement and a faster TTK are “bad” is completely disingenuous to how much these things change the gameplay of the game.

      There are good players and bad players. Good players prefer things that increase the skill gap. Bad players prefer things that decrease it. This dude only complains about things that increase the skill gap.

      I've been saying this for like two or three years now. Good to see people are finally picking up on it. Better late than never.
      Snipers get nerfed into the ground in these games despite there being plenty of methods to counter them. Jumping, sliding, flashing, stunning, and not trying to challenge them with an SMG at 100m are all available methods to everyone, but nah just nerf them lol.
      These kids would get torn in half if they bitched about the AWP in Counter-Strike.
