This album hit hard. Definitely a different energy than Currents... much more mature. There’s an understanding, a sort of reflective wisdom in the lyrics... but a resonance of fun and sunlight shines through the maturity
I found this as I was graduating college. One More Year/Hour means so much to me. I know I’ll see my good friends again, but those that I shared maybe a moment with are pretty much gone. Heavy stuff.
this song.... it hits really hard. much more mature and hard to understand than the rest. for example, the first half of the song makes you feel sorrow, but also feeling the right way. it makes you feel guilty though you're innocent. it makes you feel depressed though you're happy. it's all opposites. but of course, opposites attract, which leads to the second half of the song. everything starts to make sense, you know your feelings, you know yourself, you know your surroundings. but it's all- so out of the blue. but, all of a sudden you can't breathe. Posthumous Forgiveness is a very brilliant and true work of art.
Ever since I was a small boy No one else compared to you, no way I always thought heroes stayed close Whenever troubled times arose I didn't know Ain't always how it goes Every single word you told me I believed without a question, always To save all of us, you told us both to trust But now I know you only saved yourself Did you think I'd never know? Never wise-up as I grow And you could store an ocean in the holes In any of the explanations that you gave And while you still have time, you had a chance But you decided to take all of your sorrys to the grave Did you think I'd never know? Never wise-up as I grow Did you hope I'd never doubt? Never one day work it out? You were runnin' for cover Doin' like any other Fallin' out with a lover You didn't know that I suffered What a thing to discover There was time to recover One on one with each other Just a boy and a father What I'd give for another Everything that I have Wouldn't need this for long Never speak of the time That you left us alone Me and Steve on our own I wanna tell you 'bout the time Wanna tell you 'bout my life Wanna play you all my songs Learn the words, sing along wanna tell you 'bout the time (I was) I was in Abbey Road (Or the) or the time that I had (I had) Mick Jagger on the phone I thought of you when we spoke Wanna tell you 'bout the time Wanna tell you 'bout my life Wanna play you all my songs Hear your voice sing along I wanna say it's alright You're just a man after all And I know you have demons I got some of my own Think you passed them along Wanna tell you 'bout the time Wanna tell you 'bout my life Wanna play you all my songs And hear your voice sing along
This song reflects such a deep emotion, such a deep sentiment, resentment and sadness, the desire of revenge, the desire of making the person who hurt you hurt even more, but the fear of knowing you will push them away if you get your so desired revenge. It hurts even more when the person you hate isn´t there anymore, and you come into realization of how toxic they were to you. It hurts when people tell you "you need to let go" but you can´t.
Love this song so much, the first half is about kevin not being able to forgive his father, and the second one is him finally forgiving him. I can relate to this a lot
This song makes me feel as if I’m walking through time. Whether the destination is to the past or future. To me it kind of represents a transition from the previous decade of 2019 to the 20s given that it legit released at the end of 2019.

2:52 - 4:42 This part is simply from out of this world
I was looking for someone in the comments section to say this 🥰

It really is heartbreaking that his dad could never see the great musician Kevin has become
Is his dad asian?
This song is really heavy.
Tame impala slowed+reverb is its own GENRE 😱🤍

Looks like we have the same birthday, then!

Damn mines 5th
The amazing amount of warmth and peace that just rushed over my body at 4:50
ifkr, my fav part
This song definitely feels heavier slowed down, the meaning sinks in deeper. You feel every word as it crashes down on you.
This makes the song at LEAST 2x better, and it was already amazing as it is. So emotional.
Just listen to that beautiful voice
The chorus is the musical embodiment of screaming at someone when you have tears in your eyes
didn’t even let the song breathe lol
Breathe deeper

Fallin' out with a lover
You didn't know that I suffered
What a thing to discover
There was time to recover
One on one with each other
Just a boy and a father

Everything that I have
Wouldn't need this for long
Never speak of the time
That you left us alone
Me and Steve on our own
I wanna tell you 'bout the time

wanna tell you 'bout the time

I'm right here. Do you remember how this me feels¿ Every Ruby Ridge, every ripple in my roiling birthrite? Take a dip.

This song just hits different when you lost your father before he had the chance to see what you’d become
Thank you Rum World.

why is it so much better slowed ?
Bolosy Ba most things sound better slowed down.

What a sound. This song has a vibe of Charlotte's Webb, if anyone here has seen the old animated cartoon. Sad and heavy sound, with a bittersweet end.
